Thanks for taking the time to leave feedback about your experience. We’re sorry we couldn’t meet your expectations on price.

We want every customer to feel good about their appointment with We Buy Any Car. Our top priority is customer service and if we didn’t provide a 5-star experience we want to try and make that right.

Our leadership team launched a full investigation into your appointment. Area manager, Matthew has been trying by phone and email to get in contact with you so we could listen to your feedback. Unfortunately, we’ve been unsuccessful at contacting you after numerous attempts over the past couple weeks.

It’s our understanding that the vehicle was rough and during the appointment both parties agreed the vehicle was an end-of-life unit. Like any reputable buyer we have to price a vehicle based on its condition. During the physical appraisal of your 2009 Honda Accord with 158,000 miles, our Branch Manager observed blue smoke from the undercarriage, upper engine noise, a rough idle and fluid leaks. All of which pointed to the fact the engine was about to expire.

We do try to educate customers that they can often fetch a few hundred dollars more if they took it directly to a junk yard / recycling center. They can strip the vehicle for parts, whereas webuyanycar.com does not specialize in this practice. Often a vehicle like this we’ll take to a recycling center ourselves, and our overhead costs for transport etc. mean we can only offer a couple hundred dollars for these types of vehicles. We understand some of our customers feel more comfortable using our service and we’re happy to buy these vehicles and offer a service that ensures the title transfer and documentation will all be completed correctly.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review and for stopping by our Columbia, MD location for an appraisal of your vehicle. We are sorry to learn you are unsatisfied with your appointment. We appreciate you for taking the time to speak with Area Manager, Matthew and we hope he was able to address your concerns and restore your trust in We Buy Any Car.

While we do provide an online valuation estimate for the convenience of our customers, this is based on the limited information you tell us about the vehicle. It is not a substitute for a physical appraisal, and we always do it before we make a final offer.

The appraisal process includes physical and mechanical checks of the vehicle, running a vehicle history check through providers such as Experian or CARFAX, and we run OBDII diagnostics on the vehicle to check for any engine or drivetrain issues. If the appraisal finds any issues with the car, these are always considered part of our final offer.

Unfortunately, several issues were not declared during the online valuation. The check engine light was illuminated and the vehicle's diagnostic computer returned P0135 (02 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction) and P0138 (02 Sensor Circuit High Voltage) fault codes. In addition, when we checked the vehicle's history we were alerted to the fact that it had been reported as TMU (True Mileage Unknown) which hurts the resale value.

The other big ticket item was the severe rust on the entire frame of the vehicle. We found structural damage on both aprons of the engine bay, the rear inner wheelhouse on the passenger side, the rear interior floor pan, and on the undercarriage of the vehicle.

We have to take these into account before making a final offer and we are sorry the price did not meet your expectations. The branch manager did work with our pricing analysts to make you an offer close to the original estimate but we are disappointed that we were unable to earn your business.
