I have used vista staffing for several years and initially the service was very good in terms of: the responses to my emails, assistance with assignments, searching for new assignments, travel arrangements etc. However in the past one year or so the quality of these services has significantly dropped. My recruiter contact person has changed and I feel that my new recruiter is not responding to my emails on time and sometimes not at all. On multiple occasions I had to follow up with the telephone call on some of my questions because my emails were ignored for several days. The staff that assists me with the arrangements of my assignments continues to do a great job. My car rental and hotel arrangements are always made without any flaws and for that I continue to be thankful.

My personal history was leaked due to VISTA's inadequate protection. The information could have been hidden or compartmentalized/de-identified.
Additionally, I'm not getting the same shifts as other practitioners. My primary contact shifted positions and I feel like I have no dedicated advocate at the company now.

This is an update to my previous review on July 7. Happily, the issue was resolved, and I was paid very promptly after I posted my last review. To fairly present context, these are the facts: I was assigned to work May 10-13. For various reasons, I ended up working for 18 hours on May 10, and 13 of those hours were double booked so that I could shadow a second physician before starting on my own. As others have commented, pay dates are twice monthly on the 5th and 25th of the month. On my May 25 paycheck, I noticed that I had not been paid for any of the 18 hours I worked on May 10. I sent emails to Vista on May 25, June 10, June 11, discussed the situation with Vista on June 11, sent emails on June 25, June 27, July 1, had another conversation with Vista on July 2, and then on my July 5 paycheck I was paid for only 8 of the 18 hours I was owed. I sent another email on July 10, posted my review, then I received the remainder of my payment today.
I appreciate the company's prompt response after they were made aware of the issue, although I remain frustrated that I needed to capture the attention of upper administration to get this issue resolved. I have spoken with Vista about this, and I believe that they are making efforts to prevent episodes such as this from happening in the future. An observation: Vista seems to manage full time providers better than moonlighters. I have had a long relationship with Vista, starting in 2014, when I worked essentially 7 on/7 off for one of their hospitals. After a year of locums, the hospital bought out my Vista contract. That experience was generally pleasant and well organized, and any minor issues were usually addressed in real time. I started moonlighting with Vista again in 2018 during my spare time. Comparing notes with the other locums I've met on assignment, full time providers seem to take priority over providers who pick up sporadic shifts. Understandable from a staffing perspective, but just something to note.

The staff was always prompt and attentive to whatever comes about at the start and during the assignment. Having that support meant a lot to me during a coast to coast transition to a new practice environment. All of the assignment details were worked out through the staffing agency, which made it easier to focus efforts on preparing for and performing the clinical duties. Communication was excellent, and everyone was easy to work with and happy to always address issues or concerns in a timely way. I felt that I could really count on them.

I gave 4 stars; they are good, not great.
I gave 4 stars, although I would call my experience with vista good, not great. They have been a good company to work for, but not a great company to work for. The biggest recommendation I have for them has to do with communication. I never feel that, when I called the office, I can get through to the staff person I need to talk to right away. When you work for a company like that, which prides itself on service, you should not immediately be routed to a voicemail saying his staff is too busy to talk to you. That’s my biggest complaint, and I hope they use this recommendation to make some much needed change in that area.

Why I have only used one staffing agency
Vista Staffing Solutions is the only staffing agency I have used. The people at Vista have ,easy to work with, pleasant, and efficient. They have taken care of the credentialing, scheduling, and transportation for my assignments. If a question arises or there is a need to change or modify an assignment, there has always been someone at Vista to handle the situation. I have been completely pleased with my association with Vista, so I have not used any other agency.
