I honestly wish I had never ordered…
I honestly wish I had never ordered from Vaunt Design. The bar stools I received were beyond unacceptable. They arrived with a strong, unmistakable smell of manure. Not a faint odour, not something you could , it was overwhelming and absolutely disgusting. It made the chairs unusable from the moment they were unpacked. It was so bad that it may have actually been toxic.
What made this even worse was the complete lack of customer service. I reached out multiple times to report the issue and ask for a resolution, whether that be a replacement, return, or refund. Every single attempt was ignored. No acknowledgment, no apology, no effort to make things right, just radio silence.
This is not just poor quality control, it’s a complete failure of basic customer care. When a company sends out products in that condition and then refuses to engage with the customer, it shows a total lack of respect and accountability.
Avoid Vaunt Design at all costs. There are plenty of other companies out there that actually care about their customers and the quality of what they sell. This experience was disgusting, frustrating, and a complete waste of money.

Dear Bilal,
I want to sincerely apologise for the experience you have had with your recent order. Reading your review, I completely understand your frustration, and I want to personally address the issues you have raised.
First, I am incredibly sorry about the condition in which your bar stools arrived. The strong, overwhelming odour you described is completely unacceptable. We have looked into this, and this specific "manure" smell is caused by the packaging rather than the stools themselves. When recycled cardboard is produced, the breakdown of the materials can release specific organic compounds. If the aeration process to remove these compounds is missed, or if the cardboard absorbs any moisture during transit, it can releases a concentrated, foul-smelling odour. While we can assure you that this is a byproduct of the recycled paper and is not toxic, it is deeply unpleasant and absolutely not the experience we want for customers such as yourself. For that, I am truly sorry.
Secondly, I must address the severe communication breakdown you experienced. I have personally investigated this matter and can see on our system that our customer service team has issued a prompt response to each email you have sent us. We are genuinely unsure as to why these replies have repeatedly failed to reach your inbox but we can only apologise for the frustration and dissatisfaction that has been caused as a result.
I want to make it absolutely clear that we are in no way ignoring you or the valid issues you have raised. We never want a customer to feel disregarded, and I am deeply sorry for the immense frustration this apparent radio silence has caused you. We take full accountability for ensuring our customers are looked after.
Our priority is to provide you with a swift and satisfactory resolution to this problem. Because our emails have proven unreliable in reaching you, a member of our customer service team will be reaching out by phone shortly to speak with you directly and get this resolved for you immediately.
Sincerely,
Steven Smith - Managing Director
Very pleased with my purchase
I bought the small Okazu trinket bowl to actually use in the kitchen to hold a seasoning mix. It looks great on my kitchen surface and is easy to scoop up a pinch of seasoning for cooking. I’ve now just bought 4 more which I will use for gifts for friends and family. I will give them together with a large tub of Cornish Sea Salt & Peppery!

AWFUL, avoid at all costs
Sent the wrong colour stool and now totally ignoring my emails, calls and messages on Instagram?! Awful service and wondering if it is a scam company at this point 🙄

Damaged item but refund received
Sent item too damaged to work and their customer service would not respond until I left a poor review publicly. They have since given a refund but were incredibly slow.

Hi Sam,
We are truly sorry to learn that you have received no response when contacting us regarding a damaged order, this certainly isn't the level of service we pride ourselves on and for that we can only apologise.

Poor customer service
I really liked the look of Vaunt; the website, the design of products, fair price points, and where and how the products are made by partners in India and other places. So I ordered shelves. They arrived, and look great, but are without the instructions of how and where to position two vital struts. I emailed three separate times (no response whatsoever), and called four times. I've now given up, and won't be ordering from them again. There's no excuse for such poor service.

Hi Clare,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.
We sincerely apologise for the extremely poor service you have received. It is completely unacceptable that your emails and phone calls went unanswered, and we are sorry for the frustration caused by the missing shelf instructions.
Please be assured that this breakdown in communication will be fully investigated and addressed internally. This is absolutely not the level of service Vaunt Design aims to provide its customers. We are deeply sorry to have let you down on this occasion.
We ask that you contact us via email at info@vauntdesign.com and allow us one final opportunity to provide you with the information you require, we assure you that a copy of the assembly instructions will be provided.
Kind regards,
Vaunt Design.
High return costs
I have purchased VauntDesign Jord Stoneware Mug and Vaunt Design Aska Coffee Mugs set. Unfortunately, they were a bit of a letdown for me, given the glorious hand picked and unique style as advertised, the mugs were quite heavy and made from thick ceramic. The outer surface has a slightly rough texture, almost like fine sandpaper, and there are some visible marks. They don’t quite give me the impression of unique handmade pieces — they feel more like something produced in a standard ceramic workshop rather than the artisanal finish I was expecting. Returned.
Please be aware of returns policy - returns for 6 piece of mugs were quoted with £15 charge (as of Feb 2026).

We also apologise for the cost incurred for your return. We try to keep our policies as fair as possible while ensuring the safe transit of our goods, but we're sorry this made your experience less than ideal. We hope to have the chance to provide a better experience in the future.

Dear Martin,
Thank you for sharing your feedback, and please accept our sincerest apologies for the mix-up with your order. We are truly sorry that this delay meant you couldn't gift the item as planned.
Regarding the exchange, we apologise for any disappointment caused by the wait, it is our standard process to receive the incorrect item back before we can dispatch a replacement. Additionally, we are very sorry for the lack of response to your concerns. This was certainly not intentional.
We appreciate your patience and will ensure this is looked into.
Kind regards,
