OUR STORY:
SENTIA Spirits founder Professor David Nutt has been a pioneering force in psychopharmacology for over thirty years. He has published more than 500 original research papers and 34 books on a wealth of topics in psychiatry—from his early work in sleep studies to his better-known interventions in drug policy and the study of addiction.
As an expert on how alcohol interacts with the body and brain, Professor Nutt realized he could isolate the mechanism we associate with alcohol’s desirable effects—relaxation, increased sociability, and improved mood—from the harmful effects, by developing an alternative that exclusively targets the brain’s GABA system. Professor Nutt founded SENTIA Spirits in 2020 to bring functional alcohol alternatives to adult social drinkers.

Hi there Juan,
Thank you for your review.
We are sorry to hear that SENTIA did not meet your expectations.
This can be for a number of reasons.
Individual variances: Your GABA system is very much your own, and individual chemistry varies from person to person, so the experience of SENTIA will vary too.
Alcohol in system: Regular alcohol drinkers may have a high tolerance to GABA release, which will moderate the SENTIA experience. Studies suggest that you can reset your tolerance to GABA release by refraining from drinking for 2 to 3 weeks.
SSRI’s: (Selective Serotonin Inhibitors) anti-psychotics, tranquillisers and some epileptic medications may inhibit the effects of SENTIA.
Expectations: SENTIA is not designed to get you “drunk”, but offer a more refined experience. All feelings are of course very subjective, and will vary from person to person.
Context: There is a great deal of scientific evidence indicating that drinking (or talking any mind altering substance) alone creates a very different effect from doing so socially. The science suggests the same will be true with SENTIA.
Thank you for trying SENTIA!
Best wishes,
The SENTIA Team

Hi there Jeffrey,
Thank you for your review.
We appreciate that our products are not cheap. Alcohol is cheap to mass produce, making a bottle of SENTIA Spirits is a complex process. Our ingredients contain high quality functional plant botanicals such as Ashwagandha, Tulsi, Sage, Nigerian Ginger root and more sourced from fair-trade suppliers around the world. SENTIA Spirits cost more to put on-shelf, than a premium alcohol spirit does.
Thank you for trying SENTIA!
Best wishes for the Holidays,

Unique flavors and mouth-feel
I enjoyed the unique flavors and mouth-feel. For the Gold and Black, I added lime juice. The Red I preferred over ice with a splash of water.

Not to say that this wouldn't work…
Not to say that this wouldn't work with someone else it's just something that didn't work for me. I didn't really get anything out of it even when I doubled it. The Red has a very strong ginger taste if you don't mind that, go for it.

Hi there Jim,
Thank you for your review.
SENTIA's effect is only similar to alcohol in that it enhances sociability and relaxation. It will not feel exactly like alcohol. SENTIA only stimulates the GABA receptors in the brain which is the first neurotransmitter to be stimulated when drinking alcohol. So SENTIA will therefore feel a bit like the first alcoholic drink you have.
Thank you for trying SENTIA!
Best wishes,
The SENTIA Team

Hi David,
Thank you for reaching out here.
We apologise for the delay with your delivery. As we ship from one warehouse in the USA, shipping can at times take longer as it travels across several states.
A customer service representative will be in touch with details from the carrier.
Apologies for the inconvenience.

A Perfect Alternative for Social Sipping!
