My only problem with the watch is the…
My only problem with the watch is the tendency to detect a fall when I'm not falling. This can happen at inconvenient moments such as when I am driving or have both hands full. It is hard to respond in a timely way.

I was gardening and didn't notice that…
I was gardening and didn't notice that one of the batteries came off the watch. I could not find it. I called support and was immediately connected. A battery was sent out and instructions on what to do until it arrived. I went through the trash, gardening detritus, still haven't found it but the new battery arrived right away.

I appreciate the phone calls without them being part of the actual emergency call for those who are the emergency contact. Life alert does not detect a fall. And the user may forget they have the alert button on.

For me, this is the best choise
My experience thus for has been excellent. One of the initial batteries had a charging problem we identified and a new battery was sent to replace it in a timely manner. I'm not so sure the rubber band has an advantage over the other. I would like to try the other to compare. I've had a couple of false alarms due to aggressive activity- car work, yard work and bumping in the wall or a machine at the gym. Easily to cancel. Battery power exceeds 24 hours and easy to change. I don't find it to bother my sleep or activities this far. We haven't been to the pistol range yet. I shot two handed so we'll see. I do find the day and date below the time a little too small for me to read easily. I'm very satisfied with my choice.

If this is what you want .. go for it.. but if your wrists are very tiny like mine this is not the item for you.
Took many tweaks for this item to be less sensitive to my movements. It kept saying I had fallen. If you are sedentary, you might be O.K.

I do not like that I need this watch, I do not like the way it looks, AND I do like the way it functions.
The personal attention (on the phone) was invaluable in setting it up, and the assistance I needed in the first few days as I adjusted it sensitivity and needed other questions answered. Thank you.

I purchased the Kanega Watch by UnaliWear for my father. He is 89 and in advanced Parkinson’s, so very much a fall risk. He loves his apartment located as far from the hubbub in is assisted living facility and we (his children) really worried about him falling and being left without help for hours. The Kanega watch alongside apartment cameras have provided confident peace! We know when dad falls that we can get him the help he needs very quickly. UnaliWear’s customer service is unmatched! So grateful!!!

Huge mistake
After thorough research, I convinced my 82-year-old father to agree to the Kangega watch. I regret that I did. It has caused him nothing but trouble: repeated false alarms (when sitting, eating, and even napping) but FAILED to REGISTER A THING when he FELL flat on his back on pavement, malfunctioning voice activation, next to impossible to turn off the false alarms, bad batteries (which he was charged to replace). When he finally had enough and was told to mail the watch back, the company didn't deactivate the watch, and it registered a fall en route. Neighbors and the police were contacted and he awoke in the middle of the night to them pounding on his door! To add insult to injury, because he has had it barely over one month, the company has told him that MAYBE he'll get a PARTIAL REFUND. He's retired and living off social security! He spent around $1200 for the watch and a full year of service for nothing. SHAMEFUL. Don't be scammed by this company and their promises.

We’re sorry this experience did not meet expectations, but we do want to clarify several points.
Fall detection technology is not 100% perfect across any device or manufacturer, which is why the Kanega Watch includes adjustable sensitivity settings and multiple ways to request help. In this case, the wearer remained extremely active, including still working and regularly riding his bicycle. Some of the alerts referenced here occurred while biking. After the reported fall, our team discussed adjusting the sensitivity level to better match his activity level, but those adjustments were declined before service was ended.
We also want to clarify that the replacement batteries referenced here were physically damaged. Based on his specific situation, he was not charged replacement cost for those batteries and was only charged shipping for the second replacement battery.
Regarding the shipment return alert, customers are instructed to power down the watch before mailing it back specifically to prevent emergency alerts during transit. In this case, the device was shipped while still active, which triggered the response. The wearer later acknowledged this oversight directly to our team.
When issues were reported, our support team responded, troubleshooting steps were provided, sensitivity adjustments were discussed, replacement components were sent, and a full refund was already approved despite the account being active beyond the standard 30-day return window.
We understand that every medical alert device may not be the right fit for every individual situation, and we genuinely wish your father the very best moving forward and hope he finds a solution better suited to his needs.

We’re sorry for the frustration, but we do want to clarify the timeline for anyone reading this review.
Your return was received and processed for refund. However, after the return was initiated, a payment dispute/chargeback was also filed with the card issuer. When a dispute is active, refunds are temporarily paused because the disputed funds are already being reviewed through the banking system, and issuing both a refund and losing the dispute could result in duplicate reimbursement.
This was discussed by phone earlier today, and now that the dispute process has been adjudicated, your refund was processed and the details were communicated to you during that call.
We understand delays are frustrating and appreciate your patience now that the banking process is resolved.

Great Watch
So far I really like my new watch. The idea that you can change the batteries while still wearing the watch is a big plus. It's only detected a fall once when there wasn't a fall and once it was going to call the operator when I was just sitting in my chair. I think it's a wonderful piece of equipment.

Just what I needed
My husband passed away a few years ago and, living alone, I and my family felt I needed a medical alert device particularly at night when I am by myself. The Kanega Watch has been a great solution. I thought I would only wear it at night, but I find I wear it all the time. People are always asking me about it and I like to show it off by asking Fred the time. Most importantly, it's given me and my family the peace of mind we all need that I can get easily help if necessary in an emergency. Plus, the customer service has been so nice and supportive. Highly recommend.
