I had to contact Humax because my 100…

I had to contact Humax because my 100 year old mum is in a care home and was having problems with her set top box. Marcus was very patient with me and explained things I could try to work out what the issue was. Eventually the last option was to unplug the box, wait for 15 minutes, then plug it back in. I visited mum this morning and did that, not really expecting it to work, but lo and behold, it did! I’m so grateful (as is my mum) for Marcus’s patience and assistance with this.

Humax AuraEZ 4K Recorder - disappointed!

I have unexpected issues with the Humax AuraEZ 4K Recorder.

ITV, Ch4 and Ch5 channels are not available when a network or WiFi connection is not available, yet the manual states "Connect to the Internet To access Freely.... If you skip this step, you’ll still be able to use the Humax interface with limited features (e.g. live channels only, no Freely On Demand)."
But this is not correct. When the ethernet is not connected why are these channels not available?

Also when the Humax box goes into standby mode it drops the WiFI connection and will not automatically reconnect when the unit goes into active mode.

I understand that this Humax device is a new design, but so far I'm disappointed by its performance and operation.

Regarding your questions about ITV, Channel 4, and Channel 5 availability without an internet connection, as well as the Wi‑Fi reconnection behaviour in standby: after checking our system, we can see that one of our support team members has already provided a detailed explanation about how these channels and their content operate on the platforms. They also advised on the recommended network setup to avoid Wi‑Fi connection drops after standby.

This has to be the buggiest product ever.

This has to be the buggiest product I have ever bought.
1. No obvious way to fill in the postcode that is needed.
2. Login to ITVX locks the box up and it needs a restart.
3. Random channel jumping when it cannot select a channel.
4. Switch from one channel to another and get the new picture with the old sound.
Overall this appears to be a pre production prototype that has been released way before it was fully tested.
Took it back and got a full refund from Curry's.
Do not waste your time with one of these.

Jan 13th bought refurbished Aura which…

Jan 13th bought refurbished Aura which arrived on the 14th great service, easy to set it up and very good picture quite easy to use as we have had 3 Humax recorders over the years all still working, 16th Feb box stopped working would do nothing could not even switch off did a reset as i have done with my other boxes, did not work so Friday got through yo customer service , Pauline sent me a factory reset instruction tried it 5 times did not work, as they are only there until 3-30pm it was Monday before I could contact again asked if I could have refund, told no, then asked to pay the extra £30to upgrade to the new freely box no could only have a replacement refurbished box so asked to escalate complaint to a manager told I would have to email a VIP dept, so did that no reply, have since sent 3 emails no reply, so yesterday rang spoke to a man explained the problem said he would get manager to phone me, no one called, last night as a last resort I emailed with a attention for manager at the top, but as of 1pm today no reply WHAT GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE, as I paid by credit card my only course i have now is to let Barclaycard deal with it to get my money back, not what I wanted but if they will not listen to what a customer wants or even talk to them it is all you can do, 1st time I have bought a product from Humax Direct but never again.

Regarding your refund request, our warranty policy — which follows consumer protection laws — allows a full refund only if a proven fault is reported within 30 days of purchase. After that period, we can offer a free replacement, which is already in progress for you. Our support team has followed this policy correctly.
We also apologise for the lack of response from the VIP mailbox. After checking, we found a technical issue affecting that address, and we appreciate you highlighting it. Our main support email is working normally, so please feel free to contact us there for updates on your replacement.

Humax box cable transformer.

I telephoned Humax following a problem with my Humax set top box power transformer cable. I spoke with a person named Ivan and I would like to say that he has been most helpful in effecting a resolution to my problem. In the few days I have been in contact with Ivan he has kept me informed via email and nothing seems too much trouble for him - he is a real credit to the company. Thanks Ivan.

Humax Aura is the worst ..

Humax Aura is without doubt the crappiest piece of AV hardware I've ever used! It crashes almost every day. Apps either fail to load or crash after a few minutes. I got mine from a friend but if I'd actually paid for this piece of c**p I'd be suing Humax for false advertising. It rarely works for a day without issues. Read the reviews online and avoid at all costs! (I have other Humax PVRs that work perfect after many years, but this one is absolutely rubbish!).

Humax Aura…

I just bought a Humax Aura reconditioned. Good price and like brand new. I have owned several Humax PVR's but this is the best I have had. Good choice of products, good price and quick delivery. The courier was the only problem.....just left it on the door step when I was out.

The new Humax AuraEZ is a dreadful…

The new Humax AuraEZ is a dreadful piece of kit compared to old Humax recorders. The menus are not logical and the order of TV stations is crazy making recording difficult and time comsuming. (The order of chanels is 1 BBC1, 2 BBC2, 4Chan 4, 5 Chan 5, 203 ITV) So its ok to record channels 1 to 5 but it you want ITV go have to page all the way down to channel 203!!
It is not easy to see what you have recorded as both recorded progs and progs set to record are in the same space, not separate items as on older kit. Very,very dissappointed. Wish Amazon had been selling them as I could return it and get my money back. Cannot do that when buying from Humax.

Hopeless device

Very pleased with my purchase but disappointed that is still needs to be plugged into an aerial as it is a Freely box which uses the Internet. I was going to purchase a further box for my partner who has no aerial only satellite TV. But it would be useless. After a couple of weeks of use, it is dreadful guide doesn't work, recordings fail and tonight apps fail to open, very disappointed

Absolutely awful company

Sent a faulty item. Customer services did not reply for four days. They didn't listen and were very rude on the call. I eventually received an email from a customer service agent eventually organising a return. The return process is painful and time-consuming and I am still stuck with a device not working and I don't have the money to replace it. I will never buy a Humax device again and have been a loyal customer for over 20 years!

Humax support is none existant

I have been trying to get issues with the aura ez resolved but the support email Mail address is returning the e mail as undelivered. the Aura ez is like the original aura full of bugs. I've even tried the humax direct support e Mail address and that has been totally ignored
