I'd like to clarify that this company isn't a scam company in the sense that they are an actual company, that offer a service. The issue people are having with them is that they google are putting them first on google search results, and that they have chosen to brand themselves in a style that looks like a governement agency (or what a governemnt agency website would look like if it was user-friendly). If you're a busy person and in a hurry, you will get to the point of registering and paying before you may notice that it's not a govt. site. They charge about $80 - $100 for what is essentially an automated service. But you can do basically the same thing, in the same amount of time on teh ASIC website... but it's not as easy to use. The ASIC website was down on the day I went to use it. I guess some people, having paid it without noticing it is a private company, not ASIC will not care about $100 enough to follow it up and ask for a refund. If you ask for a refund, they will give it to you (as other peple on here have also stated).

This is a scam! Once they take your money, they send you emails to confirm ABN draft application information then when you try to reply to that email as requested, you get an Undeliverable return message. Tried calling them but no one there and no return calls. Can't email them either. I want a refund of my $369 for trying to register my business name but there is no way to contact them! Please report them to Consumer Affairs.

My business registration was due so when I received an email with payment details, I thought it a good reminder to pay and hit on the link. The yearly fees seemed excessive, then I noticed the address bar wasn't an A.S.I.C page.
TradingAs is basically a third-party company that 'may' pay on your behalf and charge you an extra hundred dollars to do what you could have done in the same time by renewing on the A.S.I.C website directly.
They are not the only company that have done this as I have snail mail and emails from others reminding me to pay via their site. This one almost sucked me as I was in a rush, and pretty sure that is what they rely on.

Total scam. Do not trust this site. Was very convincing but fraudulent on my further investigations.

We also got scammed by TradingAs. When you search for asic, TradingAs is the first company website that comes up. Will be interesting to see if our company name is renewed at all. Avoid using TradingAs. There is no benefit in using their services at all.

Waited 6 weeks and still had not lodged name. As such I had to create an account and do it myself on the ASIC portal , I recommend this .
These people don’t return calls and are a scam .

When I questioned them on a lettergiving them authorisation to assume responsibility for my business dealings with asic, they quickly responded by saying it. Would not be changed and would give me a refund.
Do Not Give Authorisation To a random person be involved in your business

DON'T PAY. they sent me a renewal which seemed very expensive, almost pain until I found the bad reviews on this company. They were wanting to charge $170 for yearly renewal of company name. Did it direct with ASIC for $44.

I got tricked as well by this mob at the time of my business name renewal. Got a letter in the mail that even though it stated (In small print) that it was not from ASIC, it was clearly designed to fool you into thinking it was. Paid a $360 renewal fee that I could've got directly from ASIC for $98.
Tried to contact them on the phone immediately. But of course, you can't even get through their number.
Luckily, I make payments like this using PayPal. So lodged a complaint straight away and got a refund from them.
I am 100% certain that, had I paid with my credit card directly, they would not have refunded the money.
The sad situation is that what they do is completely legal!

Definitely a problem, trying to mimic ASIC. I have reported them.

This site is a very clever harvesting website. They use basic info from asic to work out all expiring business names and send emails to renew.

I have no doubt it gets done but the fact that they are misleading in their intent shows low moral standing. Very expensive to when working direct is as easy and a quarter the price.

I’m sure they do very well out of this email scam.

I set out just now to renew my business name with ASIC and googled "ASIC renew business name". The first link that came up, looking REMARKABLY like a link to ASIC, was, it turns out, TradingAs. I feel that if I have not been actually deliberately tricked into paying this organization, the way in which this business operates is a simple money grab and smacks loudly of cynical corporate opportunism. It should be stopped by the authorities. I have requested a refund ($219) and will re-post on Trust Pilot if / when (?) they do the right thing and refund me.
Following the situation I described above, I asked TradingAs for a refund which they have paid in full. Although I have objections against the way this business operates, they proved to be truthful and refunded me as promised.

Absolute scam , fraudulently displaying themselves as a government department

Why did ASIC allow my contact details to be harvested by TradingAs.com.au? This is unjust and what's worse ASIC is a government body. TradingAs.com.au then misleads by sending an invoice for $219. A cost of $88 would have been incurred had the renewal been paid directly to ASIC. AVOID THESE SCAMMERS

Scam delivered by a highly misleading website.
They charge $219 for a simple transaction that can be done directly via ASIC for $88.
