We received the Ting notification of a possible fire hazard. Working with the Ting team, we determined I had a faulty outlet. I was impressed with the level of triage that went into the finding of the issue. Robert, my case manager, was very knowledgeable and walked me through, step by step. Once it was determined to be a faulty outlet, I replaced the outlet and the Ting team monitored for electrical arc, for 24 hours. I was back in touch with Robert and all looked good. I was also impressed with the communication (phone call, text and email). Great experience working with Robert and the entire Ting team.
You Need Ting!!
We haven't had our Ting for very long, maybe a couple of months and we got a fire hazard warning one afternoon (if you don't think that gets your attention you would be mistaken). It warned of a potentially hazardous arcing somewhere in the house. We connected with Cameron at Ting that same day and he walked us through eliminating the potential issues until we zeroed in on the culprit - an old night light that we kept plugged in in the kitchen to help us see when we took the dogs out at night. Once we had unplugged that light we had no other hazards. I guess the whole point is we'd never had any idea that night light was a hazard without Ting. Cameron was extremely patient and we never felt rushed or that he was not as concerned and motivated to find the cause as we were. I don't like to think of what Ting might have prevented, but I'm sure glad we have it. Thanks Ting!

Ting alerted me to the fire hazard. I contacted my electric company and they found the issue was a faulty issue at the transformer to my house. Thank you for saving my house from a fire!
Ting works!
Our insurance company let us know that Ting was a service that was available to us at no cost. Since it wasn’t costing us anything, and we live in an older house, we signed up to see what it was like. I figured it would be purely informational (weekly reports of electric voltage and tips) and initially it was. When I received a text and phone call from Ting that a hazard was detected, I knew that the Ting monitor was for real. We were guided step by step through the process of identifying what outlet was causing arcing and had triggered an alert. Ting contacted an electrician on our behalf with information regarding what the problem was, which outlet needed replacing, and which breaker to turn off. When the electrician arrived, Ting stayed on the phone with him to ensure that once the outlet was replaced and tested, that no hazard was detectable. Thank you Ting for catching this!
Saved a potential house fire
I recently bought a cat bed that was heated and Ting found out that this was what's causing my electric to spike. I got Ting from State Farm. What a great investment. It may have prevented a house fire. The support team at TING were amazing.

Arcing in an outlet was found. They guided me in how to look for the problem, I located the problem and tightened the loose screw which was causing the arcing, they guided me through the reset process and assured me that the problem had been found and fixed.

Ting identified a faulty neutral connection at the utility pole connected to our house. This caused routine voltage spikes and brownouts with our electric service. I would have never known the situation existed until something drastic happened like a fire or a destroyed appliance. I contacted our utility company and explained the findings of my Ting sensor. The utility rep confirmed the poor neutral connection and corrected the problem.

Our experience with Ting was AWESOME!!! Ting is provided to us by State Farm Insurance Company and we are VERY thankful!!! We could have had a house fire! We were alerted quickly to the dangerous situation and they worked with us to find the problem, which was a faulty breaker! We will forever be grateful for Ting and the way they monitor our home and alerted us to a problem! They are AMAZING to work with!!! I feel much safer just knowing they are monitoring our home 24/7!
I started getting power brownout…
I started getting power brownout notifications. Once I got more than one a day for a couple days I called my city utility department. They immediately knew there was an issue and came out to inspect my meter. Turns out it had been arcing which was causing the power brownouts. I called an electrician and Ting immediately. After some discussion Ting agreed that even though what was happening was not a normal fire hazard, they would help cover the cost of the repair. I’ve literally never had an easier more seamless experience. Uploading the documents, contacting the team, being kept up to date, all of it was amazing!

My Insurance Company State Farm offered the Ting monitoring service free of charge for both our Home and for our 2nd home at Lake of The Ozarks. Right away the Ting monitor detected arcing at the lake home and I was notified by email and thru the Ting app. I contacted the fire safety team and they were beyond awesome to work with. I had numerous conversations with numerous people throughout this process and each person I spoke to was professional and responsive to our issue. The bottom line is that they solved the arcing issue and we avoided a very possible fire hazard thanks to the Ting system. I can not thank Matthew and his team enough for their patience and persistence in resolving this issue.

I am very grateful to Ting and my electric company for offering it. I am a senior living in an old house. Ting contacted me to tell me that they had observed arcing in my electrical system which is a warning for a fire hazard. They worked with me to isolate the problematic electrical line which was a huge relief. I definitely recommend Ting to anyone who has the opportunity to get it. I feel that it has hopefully allowed me to dodge a very scary bullet.

I received the free Ting App thru notification from State Farm Insurance as a way to prevent or be alerted to potential fires hazards at our home. It became a habit to look at the App daily. One day, an alert about a potential fire hazard popped up on my phone. An email alert was also sent. I got a little excited and called the number in the alert. I was greeted by a very friendly voice that explained their equipment caught a issue with the power in the house that needed attention and they would walk me thru their investigation to figure it out. Their equipment detected a problem twice a day at about the same time. Since we have two timers for night lights, they led me thru various checks to isolate the lamp, timer and light bulb. It turned out to be a faulty cool lite bulb. It was a little scary thinking a fire could have started but the Ting group of technicians were great to work with and averted a potential disaster. Hats off to Wascar Perez for his great work at the Ting fire team.
My Ting subscription saved the day!
My Ting subscription is provided with my State Farm Homeowner’s policy. This weekend all of our power went out suddenly. I received a call from my Ting agent, Tyler. It appeared to be a problem from the outside equipment. I figured out it wasn’t from the breaker box so I called the city utilities department. He came out within 2 hours but said the problem was in the “meter can” which was my responsibility & he couldn’t fix it. Tyler called back & told me Ting would help pay for labor when I hired an electrician. He talked to the city worker to get a technical description of the problem. He also talked to the electrician when he arrived to see what he wanted to do to repair the problem. I was grateful because I understand very little about how all that works & probably could have been mislead! When all was fixed, Tyler paid Ting’s part of the repairs over the phone & I paid the remainder. Everyone I spoke to at Ting (mostly Tyler!) was pleasant, helpful, and efficient- even on a Saturday! Tyler continued to monitor the house for 48 hours & then gave the all clear. I LOVE having Ting services!

We live in a 226 year old historic antique home. When Ting alerted us to a serious fire hazard detection, we called our power company and reported it as an emergency, as per Ting’s instructions. The power company didn’t not respond and so we called the fire Marshall in our town. Three firemen, including the Marshall and a policeman, responded within minutes. The police officer took a detailed report from me, reviewed with the fire Marshall the detailed reports sent by Ting and proceeded to have the local dispatch contact the power company. Within less than 90 minutes, the issue (overgrown vines on the transformer connecting the electricity to our home) was resolved. Ting closely monitored the electricity coming into the house for 48 hours before declaring the situation fully resolved and safe.

Ting saved my home from a fire while I was out of state! I cannot recommend Ting enough. I was in another state when I received a phone call from their team letting me know that my home was a major fire hazard. Not only did they detect the hidden electrical issue, but they were able to pinpoint the exact problem and immediately called an electrician to handle the repairs in a timely manner when I returned home. Everything was resolved quickly, safely, and professionally. Having a Ting in my home gives me absolute peace of mind. If you are on the fence about getting one, don't hesitate—it is worth every penny and truly works when it matters most.
A fire hazard was detected in my home
A fire hazard was detected in my electrical system, I was alerted by my Ting system and immediately contacted a Ting representative. They were patient with me as we walked through 2-3 days of troubleshooting, finally nailing the problem down to burned out sump pump. I tried moving the pump to GFCI outlet to test and it immediately tripped it. Long story short I bought a new sump pump, installed it... problem solved. Could this have caused a fire over time, no way of knowing, but quite possible.... Ting was provided to to me by my Insurance company, I decided to take advantage of this perk.... if your insurance company offers Ting... you should too... it just may save your home, and God forbid your family.
Ting was OUTSTANDING
Ting was provided by my or through my insurance company. I expected nothing more than an app I could monitor with my phone. I wad absolutely amazed that Ting contacted me of a potential fire hazard. The service was outstanding. The troubleshooting efforts and walk throughs were thorough professional and patient. I did in fact have a serious problem that required an electrician. The extra peace of mind I now have with Ting is exceptional. The entire Ting Team is to be commended. Would HIGHLY recommend.

Then they suggested they have an electrician sent to identify and check further. Electrical company came withing 1 week and resolved the problem. Everybody should have Ting. I was amazed at the monitoring and quick response by Team Ting. Very happy and have more peace of mind in our home.
