Timsons in Twickenham - what awful service from an extremely unhelpful and disinterested assistant!! Will not be going there again.

Key cut in another branch didn’t work properly. Took it to my local branch and he redid it somewhat reluctantly. I’ve never had a problem before but this guy was obviously more interested in carrying on looking at his phone than good customer service

I took my watch to my local Timpsons situated in the Tesco store at Whitfield, Kent for a replacement battery.
A quick inspection of the watch revealed that some of the links on the strap had become worn and I was advised to have these checked. When the watch was returned to me it was like having a brand new watch as it had been thoroughly cleaned, the links on the strap repaired and even the second hand was now working !
The advice and service I received was brilliant and would have no hesitation in using Timpsons again in the future and would recommend them to anyone.

I took my watch to Timpson Bletchley at Tesco Extra, to get the battery replaced, and bought a lifetime guarantee.
When completed and paid for I walked away a few feet and noticed that the minute hand was completely disconnected and lying inside the face! I took it back and the agent apologised and admitted it was his fault. After trying to force it open he said that he had not the correct size tool to mend it and told me to take it to the nearby Timpson at Asda Bletchley, and he would contact them straight away himself to advise that I was coming. I went there straight away, only to find that the agent there was taking a break and nowhere to be seen. I waited around and eventually he turned up. To cut a long story, I was told my watch had to be sent to the workshop and I would be without it for several weeks.
When I went to collect my watch I was told it had been given new workings and full service. I came home and within hours I noticed there was a mist in the centre of the face and it became clear that during the time in the workshop moisture had got in! A few days later it stopped completely, then started again hours later.
I phoned customer services and they told me to email the details and send pictures of my watch which I did by return (including Branch numbers, Ticket numbers and Case numbers). Two days later I received an email saying that it was being looked into and I would receive feedback in a few days.
Five and a half weeks later I still had not heard anything so I emailed asking for an update as to how far they had got with the case and received the following message..."Watch has been sent away, no update as of yet but I have asked the workshop to keep me posted as soon as I have a eta I will let you know."
What IS going on!!?
I emailed back saying the following...
"I think maybe there is some confusion here as I have my watch! It had been sent away to the workshop due to damage done in the branch and came back faulty. During its time at the workshop, they had obviously allowed moisture to get into it and now it works intermittently and has moisture particles in the face, sometimes more apparent than others. I went over all this in a phone call and would be glad to know what the next step is to be."
I received an email back saying..."can you send the watch to me..."
No apology for getting the whole situation wrong, no apology for the 6 weeks of inaction, no apology for wrecking my watch and all the trouble it had caused and no indication of a plan of action, just basically demanding I send the watch to the address given.
I could not decide what to do as this watch is special to me and any trust in their ability to act responsibly and professionally had been entirely eroded after all this chaos. It is not as if the problem was just one specific Timpsons store, but two different ones, then the Timsons workshop and finally also the Customer Service lady whom I dealt with!
I certainly did not feel happy about posting my watch to some address with only an abrupt email telling me to do so and have heard no more from them.
So sadly I have a faulty watch...
DO NOT TRUST TIMPSON WITH YOUR WATCH (EVEN TO REPLACE A BATTERY) OR ANYTHING ELSE VALUABLE!

I wanted to nominate Tom from Aylesfords Timpson for your latest competition but I was 2 days too late. However, I wanted to say what a genuine guy he is. Whenever I go in he is smiley and polite and very helpful. He comes across as extremely humble, a characteristic that isn't seen much today.

Just had new battery and strap links fitted at the Bridlington branch. Absolute SECOND TO NONE customer service by Chrissy,she is a credit to Timsons. Thank you for sorting out my two watches within minutes.

Today 30/04/2026 I called into Timpson's outside Sainsbury's in Bridgend South Wales, what a nice helpful person the operative was ,I needed a watch strap also the links too hold it ,I called into Sainsbury's for about 5 minutes, and sure enough he had it repaired

Visited Timsons at Tesco, Shirley. Jay replaced my watch battery and fixed my son’s medal with ease. Great customer service

I called at Timpsons at Morrisons, Ty Glas, Cardiff today to get a replacement battery for my car key fob and was served by Mark, he was friendly, welcoming and chatty and got the job done very quickly.
Great service from Mark at Timpsons.

Excellent Service
After 2 people let me down with a key cutting & programming the key fob, James from the Eccles Branch completed the task between annual leave & my hospital appointments. Thank you James - You are The Messiah of Key Cutting & Programming

Fine for batteries, but not a watchmaker
Don’t let the "watch repair" sign fool you—they are limited to very basic tasks. I reached out about a minor dial repair and was told it was too complex for them. They are perfectly fine for a quick battery change or a new strap, but for any real repair work, you'll need a specialist.

Absolutely unbelievable and embarrassing service received at this store today, 16th February 2026 at 16:20.
The employee was serving a customer in front of me and, once he finished, he simply said, “I’m on my break now, I’ll be back in 15 minutes” 😳 — despite me waiting to be served.
Completely unacceptable customer service. I was left standing there with no assistance and no apology.
This experience sums up how poor the service at Timpson Kidsgrove (Tesco) is. I’m using my time productively by writing this review to make others aware.

As you can probably see on trust pilot that timpsons dont have a very good score, and im not surprised. This company is there to profit massively off you, they are con artists, who will feed you any lie they can to get an extortionate sale from you. I visited Timpsons in Tesco in Poole, to have a key cut for my daughters moped, this is just a standard key, no electronics or transponders inside, just a simple key! They guy at Timpsons straight away started to spout off how its a security key for a vehicle and its a special key bla bla bla and then told me it was £30 for the key!!!! I couldnt believe the lies and the cost so I left!. I went 5 mins down the road to another key cutting service and they cut the key for me for just £8. No BS no lies, he said was a standard key and cost was £8. SO DO NOT USE TIMPSONS THEY WILL 100% RIP YOU OFF.

It's Timpson's. I had a great experience at Timpson's in Tesco in Plymouth. I had a new key for my Seat Ateca made for £200 - the dealer wanted £500! Great service from Matt.

I sent my tag watch to get a battery and seal and I was told they would send it back within 5 days recordered delivery. What a joke they have just sent me a email after 10 days to say they have just sent it to me by standard delivery.thats £1500 watch sent standard delivery , what happens if it gets lost in the post. I will never use this company again and to think the owner is a lord. Conman in the Lords more like it

The bright, friendly welcome in this store at Lower Sydenham, Bell Green, in London made my day. Customer service is so important, especially in person which is something we don't tend to experience these days of online dominance. My visit was on 27.12.25 at 13.20 but it's always very positive at this location. Key was cut, job done! Thank you.

Liam in Burnage 5212 has worked a miracle for me with a very expensive handbag I had managed to almost ruin.
He’s managed to make it useable again and I’m absolutely delighted. Can’t thank him enough. What a star!

Visited Timsons shop in Tesco store Hamble Lane on the 6th Nov 2025 for a repair to the heels of my shoes. The gentleman inspected the shoes and quoted me a price for repairing the heels. On further inspection he suggested that for just another ten pounds the soles of the shoes could be replaced. Both the heels and soles had been replaced by Timsons previously. I elected to pay upon collection which was set firstly for the following Saturday morning but then upon second thoughts changed to the Sunday. I had left my name and telephone number with Timsons. I did not go to collect my shoes until today, Monday 10th November. Upon arrival at Timsons at 1450hours, there was a notice stating that the shop was temporarily closed until 1530hours and that if i cred to wait there would be a 10% discount from the price. As it would have taken me more than 40minutes to drive home and back at that time of day I decided to wait. Just before 1530 hours the gentleman returned, not the gentleman I had first seen on depositing the shoes. After searching for my shoes the gentleman pointed to a pair of shoes and asked if they were mine. They were! He then read the note that was left inside. Beyond repair only Full rebuild @£100.00. Heel locks falling apart soles too thin and crumbling. The remains of my shoes and note were handed to me. I enquired why nobody had called me etc and the shop assistant had no idea etc etc.
It would appear that the glue securing the previous Timson soles has removed chunks of the original shoe. The heel blocks are not falling apart but do show signs of damage where the top layer ie the previous replacement heels have been ripped off. I other words it would appear the shoes have been attacked by a complete amateur. Avoid this branch of Timson. There is obviously no skill or customer consideration. Thrown into the two hard bin.
