The Solar company installed a solar system on our home last year,
Recently we had an issue with our Wi-Fi
Therefore our hub was changed,
This caused us to lose information on how ourSolar system was performing.
I then contacted George regarding this,
George later came to our home and assisted us, enabling us to reconnect with the Sunnysink App.
This company genuinely keeps its promises and helps you with any Solar enquiry you have, after the installation.
Prior to having our Solar system installed, George and Mark were fantastic, I had several quotes before and after Solar company,
The Solar company were so far ahead in all areas.
Their genuine advice, knowledge and compete package was far superior to all the other quotes.

George from Solar Co first visited for an initial consultation, and it didn't take very long for him to impress me! The sales pitch you may experience from competitors was replaced by a comprehensive knowledge and quiet confidence.
He flew a camera drone to survey the roof and then showed me the images he had captured, spent some time on the calculations of power outputs vs costs, and presented me with a verbal proposal, - the details of which really surprised me.
Because of the very shallow pitch of our roof being only 25 degrees, (I measured it!), he proposed putting eight panels on the South facing front side of the house but also eight panels on the rear North facing side. This was something I had never considered and nor had the competitors.
The verbal estimate he gave was very slightly higher than the competitors, but with double the number of solar panels and a considerable larger storage battery, which would help to future proof, if and when we had a heat pump installed. This set up was going to produce a break-even date for our installation costs far sooner than competitors estimates.
George’s colleague Mark visited for a more detailed survey prior to the installation, and I was also impressed by his professionalism and friendly attitude.
On the day of installation, a friendly team arrived who were very efficient. All the solar panels were fitted in just a few hours, the electrician was working for most of the day, with George and Mark dropping by at regular intervals to check progress and ensure that routing of cable and conduit was to a standard of which they would be proud. The electrical work was completed to an exceptionally high standard, and a lot of thought went into routing cables and conduit for a minimal impact, the kit installed in our garage looks really sharp and being an ex-mechanic and engineer I really appreciate it, even my wife thinks it super!!
The system was up and running before 4:00pm the same day, and the only small issue we have encountered was when the scaffolders, when removing the scaffold, dented our garage door, which I did not notice until the following day. I called George and he was over within the hour to look at the damage and arrange a repair to be completed before the end of the week. This was completed to an exceedingly high standard, and it is difficult to see where the damage had occurred!
Having monitored the energy output in the first two weeks after installation we can see that George’s predictions may be on the conservative side which is very encouraging indeed, as we will be producing even more than he predicted.

The Solar Co installed our solar panels and battery system a couple of years ago and it has been performing very well. At the end of last week we had what turned out to be a minor problem with a component. Our message to the company got a very fast response and they soon had us back up and running. Really good customer service from a friendly and helpful team.

I relocated to Gloucestershire from SW London in 2024 & carried out an extensive extension & renovation of a 140 year old period cottage. There is no mains gas here and the existing property had oil fired heating. I wanted to run the property on electric only and to do so as cheaply as possible in order to insulate ourselves from possible electricity price increases. I knew it would involve batteries so I also wanted an uninterrupted power supply (UPS) in the event of a power cut. To my surprise I couldn’t find many solar companies out there that would offer this element.

Mark & George at The Solar & Renewables Company had no issues at all with the UPS. They also advised I use the really smart GSE in roof system which looks amazing and also saved me a lot of money on slates!

Their quote was extremely competitive & the work was all carried out in a single day at the exact time I needed it in the build schedule.

Now we are living here and have had some decent weather I can see how George’s calculations were in no way optimistic! Our electric bill is tiny compared to our last house and even better it’s the only bill!!

We also had a Mitsubishi Ecodan heat pump & hot water system installed by them taking advantage of the £7,500 grant available. The system is working really well, the house was like toast during the very cold weather we had this winter

George, Mark and the team at The Solar Co are a great example of how any sort of building work company should run. We had read all these glowing Trust Pilot reviews and thought they might be too good to be true but in fact, I found them very flexible, communicative, collaborative & professional with clear and fair pricing and guys who took pride in their work. At the start, George helped explain what my options were with regards the solar panels, batteries and consumer unit we were looking for and gave clear information about what our potential savings were and how the pricing was created. Throughout the install, they worked well with the company building our loft extension often scheduling around them, keeping in contact to know when they could come in and do the various stages of installation and always turned up when they said they would. Now post-install, George has been in contact to follow up and answer any questions I have with regards best tariffs or exporting energy and keeps an eye on how our install's doing. Thanks for making a complicated and potentially daunting experience as smooth and easy as it could possibly be!

Mr roof has a mix of pitch and flat sections. I spoke to several of the "big" solar panel companies who either refused to quote for the flat parts or did not quote at all. I found George online who was local to me and his company provided flat roof solutions. He visited soon after using a drone to survey the roof. He provided me with a really cost effective solution utilising all the roof space. He installed 19 panels and battery and provided me with a detailed breakdown for the return on investment. He was very knowledgeable in person and responded very quickly to further questions I had via WhatsApp. Installation was quick and the set up was fully explained on the day. He provided a very professional service at a great price.

After going to some big well known firms who wouldn’t help me because we had a flat roof, I wanted to find a local firm who cared so came across the solar co on the MCS site. I didn’t know much about this stuff so wanted to make sure whoever I used was fully certified.

Mark and George are a fantastic team. They never do the hard sell, rather help to educate you so you can make a fully informed decision about the choice you make.

We now have our plant room for the inverter, batteries and cylinder. We have an air source heat pump and brilliant solar panels.

The team are hard working, precise neat and tidy, and deliver what they say they are going to deliver. Their banter isn’t bad either!

Thank-you to all the team at Solar co for providing us with our new solar system just before Christmas. What a fantastic Christmas present! The whole experience was seamless from start to finish and we were so impressed with all the advice we received including the great digital tool to play around with equipment parameters and also how quickly George slotted in for our install. An initial chat with George was very informative. We appreciated the visit from Mark who was very thorough with his survey, sending a drone up to take pictures of our flat roof and answering our questions. The scaffolding was organised and came up and down when promised. Panels were installed on our flat roof three storeys up on our loft conversion and sloped roof at the front, along with inverter and battery on the side wall. Particular thanks to Dan on the electrics who on install day spotted and fixed a problem on our fuseboards where the smart meter had been incorrectly and unsafely installed. We are excited for the Spring and Summer ahead to see what the plant can do at its maximum potential.

I found The Solar Co through the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) website. They were dedicated to recommending and installing the right solar system for our circumstances. They clearly communicated the options with no hard sell. They answered all of my questions promptly. The install itself was relatively straightforward. They also helped me navigate an awkward neighbour and access to their land (we wanted to install a cable on a side wall). I'm grateful for that. The install was quick, very neat and tidy. Also very professional.

Further details below but the summary is that they were very responsive and communicative throughout and we’re very happy with both the process and the end result. The price was equivalent to the Octopus quote but with much better service.

Essentially we were holding back on getting it done because it’s difficult to know who might be cowboys in this fast-growing market, but we’re very happy we chose this small, owner-managed business to support.
Further details:
- We heard of the Solar Co because a neighbour got solar panels done by them and was happy with them
- I had A LOT of questions and reservations about the process but George (the company is run by George and Mark) was more than happy to answer all of them - clearly and usefully! - via WhatsApp and over the phone
- They’ve provided us with app access so we can get on with buying electricity from and selling electricity to the grid - the returns on this are much better than you might have been led to believe so the payback time for solar panels is much quicker than I thought. The key is a flux tariff - George can provide more details
- We also spoke to Octopus but it seems that they weren’t interested in our business because they just didn’t call back once they knew the spec (high roof, and slightly awkward panel position over a pipe vent) - apparently it’s quite common for them to not be interested in even slightly complicated installs
- They also cleared our gutters and removed some annoying, useless cables from the side of the house that have been bothering since we moved in! Just a nice touch
- We also coordinated it with George so that the scaffolding is being left up for a few more days so we can get windows done at the same time - this has been useful to us! He dealt with all the scaffolding
- When the day for the install came, the 15 panels were delivered in the morning and the install and handover were complete by 2:30pm!!
- Mark and George are both useful guys to have around and their team has done a very tidy job. Would recommend!

Perfect. could not have been better. Scaffold erected on day one. Solar panels, battery, inverter, and car charger all installed and up and running by 4.00pm on day two. Scaffold dismantled and site left perfectly clean and clear on day five (the weekend intervened). by far the best performance of any company i have ever used.

You can never really tell how good a company is until there are problems.
We had a few, none of them the fault of The Solar Co.
As with complicated installations of all types we got thrown a few curved balls, mainly due to me having specced a custom install. George and Dan between them got them all sorted in a timely manner and I'm delighted with the end result.
I would definitely recommend the solar co. for a quality installation at a sensible price.

I selected Solar Co after getting many quotes (7KW panels, inverter and 15.5KW battery). I could not be more delighted. I would recommend them without hesitation. They are knowledgeable, efficient, polite and have a real focus on customer care.

Sale. At no time did I feel “sold to”. George provided information and advice, letting his knowledge and experience sell itself - visiting/calling when he promised. The price quoted was highly competitive and was what I paid – no extras!

Installation. The team were fantastic - friendly, polite and efficient. Installation took a day and was neat and exactly as described. The team left everything exceptionally clean & tidy.

After sales. I had a minor hardware issue – no fault of the Solar Co. George was super responsive to work with the inverter supplier to fix the issue, keeping me informed of progress at every turn. He also stressed that I should not pay the outstanding balance until I was happy everything was working.

27/08/2024 - I wanted Solar panels with a battery installed, however, who do I go to? Octopus and Heatable have their online quotes but their quotes don't include bird protection or any of the miscellaneous stuff. I reached out to George at Solar Co. and he offered to drive over, he sent up his drone to look at the roof and later that day he sent over his quote with the elements he would install. After I called him several times to check on this and that, we agreed a price.
On installation day all elements of the Solar Co Team were polite professional and helpful. Nothing was a challenge for them. George called in throughout the day to ensure the project ran on time without any hitches.
The day after the installation, George emailed me my certificates and licences for selling to the grid.
I am very pleased I went with a local business and went with Solar Co (George & Mark) I would happily recommend Solar Co to anyone.

Their ongoing support about Export Tarrifs and getting the best out of my equipment is really great. Their aftercare, ongoing care and commitment to their clients is really appreciated. If you want a solar and/or battery system, look no further. I could not be more impressed with this team. Impeccable customer service - before, during and after the install. After we'd agreed the install they chased me more than I chased them! They are really knowledgeable and efficient, I cannot fault them on anything. They exceeded all expectations, and the price was super competitive too. As well as providing an amazing service, I feel like I learnt a lot from the team too. If you're like me and you've been thinking about taking the plunge for a while - this is your sign to do it!

Normally when you plan something you get to pick 2 from on time, on budget, on spec. However with The Solar Co they proved to be the exception and you get all three.

I am beyond impressed, every interation I've had with them from initial meeting and survey with drone to get an accurate plan of the roof, through quote and detailed explanation of it and options available to the actual install has surpassed my wildest expectations based on previous interactions with other tradesmen.

The team that turned up to do the install reflected the interations I had with the company up to this point, they were professional, quick and tidy and more impressively, proud of the work they did producing an install that you would expect to see as a show install.

As you go through life there are company contacts that you pickup that you would use again or reccomend to family and friends... this is such a company.
