Oh my goodness, I can’t recommend The Second Life Library enough. It’s such a special, female-led small business, run by the loveliest Millie, whose passion and knowledge of children’s literature really shines through in everything she does.

My son absolutely loves his curated book packages; they’re always so thoughtfully put together and perfectly tailored to his interests. You can tell how much care goes into sourcing each book; Millie even messages when she’s found something she knows he’ll love, which makes it feel so personal.

I also really value the sustainable, preloved approach; it’s such a brilliant way to give books a second life while bringing so much joy to children.

We genuinely look forward to every delivery. Immensely proud to support a small business that puts this much heart into what they do and will continue to recommend TSLL to every parent I know!

Amazing variety of books

I recently started a subscription with a second-hand library service. Overall, the experience has been quite positive so far. The sign-up process was simple and straightforward, and I appreciated the variety of titles delivered. There’s something appealing about giving pre-owned books a second life, and it also makes the subscription feel more sustainable.

My first book arrived in amazing condition, better than I expected for a second-hand item. We are looking forward to receiving more books.

I can’t recommend the Second Life Library enough! I have received three boxes so far and my daughter has loved every book. They are all excellent quality and my favourite part is the books are ones I would never have found myself. I also love that they are tailored to the comments I have left.

I have ordered from the second life library a couple of times now for my friends childrens birthdays and have received messages confirming how brilliant a present it is every time. Each book choice has been spot on even with the most basic guidance at order placement. I will continue ordering for many more friends and relatives little ones in future!

I have not seen which books have been sent but All I know is that they have been very well received and my grandson loves them. Fully recommend.

I love TSLL! I rave about it to all my friends! I'm a first time mum wanting to raise a book lover, but I was really struggling with what will my baby actually engage with. The subscription is amazing at helping me navigate when it's time to move onto the next level! I have had 3 boxes so far and each one has been an absolute hit! I am so happy to have found a business dedicated to giving books another life and making the love of books easier to pass on to my kids.

I’ve now had 2 subscription boxes from the second life library and I’m completely in love with the concept! It is such a beautiful idea and so exciting to see what books get delivered each month. My son is 15 months and he has loved all the books that we have received- I can’t wait for him to get older and open the packages himself! Although I’ve not done this yet, you can donate books and receive a discount on your next box which is another fab idea. I only wish they did adult boxes as well :)

We have signed up for the monthly subscription for my son (age 4). I love that you can leave a note of anything that you want the books to focus on and any series they already have. The books that have been sent so far have been amazing. They are in excellent condition and have ignited both imagination and meaningful conversations. Thank you so much! Would highly recommend.

I stumbled across her Instagram page and have been trying every month to get a box and finally got one!! As children grow so quickly their literary input changes rapidly too, and I was looking for a cost effective way to get as many books as possible. This subscription was a win- win! The books arrived in almost brand new condition I was honesty questioning whether they were second hand.

Absolutely love this library subscription! The selection for newborns is perfect, with engaging books that make bonding time so special. Highly recommend for any parent wanting to start their little one’s love for reading early.

Really disappointed by the books and thought it was expensive actually on reflection for the books I received. Received a Christmas book in March and a Peppa Pig book for a 8m old. Better to go to a charity shop, much cheaper too!

Lovely idea, excellent communication and books in fab condition.

Gorgeous experience ordering and receiving a personalised selection, I noted my son was into superheros and we got a superhero book, such a fantastic sustainable business idea too I love the idea of books having a longer lifespan and get shared on.

Amazing idea! My little girl absolutely loves books & this allows her to have access to a variety of new books each month without the cost of buying new ones. It also saves so many second hand books ending up thrown away or in landfill as they are being reused. So lovely to spark a love of reading early on.

My 12 month old is super in to books, so this is a lovely idea to receive to your door. She was very excited to look inside the box and find three books to explore. A really lovely idea, and it’s nice to know your are giving books a new lease of life again!

Could not recommend The Second Life Library enough!
We received the discovery box and think it’s excellent for kids as they become more independent readers.
My daughter was over the moon to open her own gorgeous parcel to find a hand written note and a collection of fabulous books - she started reading straight away!
Such an excellent way to encourage screen free time.
We also have the bookmark which my daughter is proudly using already to track her books.
We love the concept of giving books a second life, and it’s a great message to be teaching our little ones.

Order arrived super quickly and I absolutely loved the books chosen! (I wouldn’t have come across them myself, so it’s great to have new titles & authors to explore!) Also, the books are in such good condition. An all round great experience and will definitely be ordering again!

Books poor condition rubbish selection and only 3 ??? Can buy better quality from a charity shop. Rubbish comms packaging poor. Simple all round Rubbish. Cancelling subscription is near impossible be careful as you think you’ve cancelled but it’s only paused a month. Books
