Paid full price tonight for haddock n chips rockfish n chips sm mushy peas sm curry sauce just under £30.00 fish nothing special ..shocking as hardly any chips in each box.waited over an hour won't be going there again.

Went with friends the other night and had a lovely meal, great choice and the setting by Exeter Quay was lovely. Staff were really helpful and friendly too. Look forward to going back

We have just dined at Rockfish Lyme Regis as a wedding anniversary celebration meal. The food was excellent and the service from Ffion was exemplary and made the whole experience superb for my wife and I. Fantastic evening and will eat here again 10/10

We are visiting Poole and decided to give Rockfish a try. The service was excellent and the food was fantastic. Willow took great care of us. We also enjoyed the local radio announcer in the rest room. Highly recommend and we’ll visit again.

Wonderful lunch at Dartmouth Rockfish. The scallops were beautiful and the Halibut was absolutely beautiful. Service was, as always, wonderful.

We had a very nice meal for me and my wife at Rockfish seafood restaurant in Dartmouth and was served by a lovely lady called Scarlett which made are experience so much better so 10 ou of 10 for food and service with a very reasonable price. Would definitely come back again .

The worst Rockfish restaurant we've been to.
The service was very slow, it was ages before a server appeared after we sat down , and we'd been in the restaurant nearly an hour before our food appeared. My halibut was hard and dried out on the surface and the potatoes and samphire arrived 5 minutes later. My partners chips were cold. We could see many plates waiting for over 5 minutes on the counter before being served.
A very disappointing experience, as normally we can rely on Rockfish for an excellent meal.

This was my second visit to the Exeter restaurant. I was not impressed on our first visit but a a guest I was not comfortable giving feedback
Today I returned as family members wanted to visit. As I was paying I feel comfortable with saying the staff were good but the food was very overpriced and of average quality at best
I will not be going again

We’ve enjoyed many lovely meals at Rockfish but this wasn’t the greatest. Early on a Monday evening in Poole there was a lively atmosphere and good service but the food was a little disappointing. We didn’t look at the menu and ordered a shared crab starter followed by fritto misto with a portion of chips and a salad, which we’ve enjoyed on previous occasions. The crab was slightly watery, not a lot of it for £18 and came with only half a bread roll. The fritto misto consisted of two tiny whole fish, one prawn, two small pieces of white fish and some unidentifiable battered shredded things I assume were squid, although not like any squid I’ve had before. It was ok but not as good as usual. My partner paid the bill as a treat for me. With an IPA, a Lucky Saint and a couple of espressos it came to nearly £100. When I saw it I realised we’d been charged for the chips and salad, unlike previous occasions when these were included in the price of the main course. That extra £10.00 pushed the meal into the “I’ve been ripped off” category as opposed to the “expensive but just about ok” category. I suppose the moral is “always look at the menu”, but I’m not sure I’ll bother again.

Rockfish Poole- chatty friendly staff but main course arrived one hour after ordering. Had crab for starter, three spoonfuls of white meat two of which had shell in and three spoonfuls of brown meat. Which at £18 was both pricey and disappointing. Main course was fresh and well cooked. OK but would not rush to revisit.

Subject: Formal Complaint – Unacceptable Treatment and Forced Removal During Meal over assistance dogs.
Dear Manager / Customer Service Team,
I am writing to formally complain about the deeply upsetting and unprofessional way I was treated at the end of my meal today.
I arrived and ordered a meal that I was treating myself to, spending £51 in total. I received my starter (mussels) at 12:18. At approximately 12:30 a member of staff approached, asked if I had finished, and attempted to take my plate while I was still eating. I clearly said I had not finished. By around 1:00 pm I was on my second course and had only just started one of the tacos when the incident occurred.
A lady entered with a poodle. My dog, Narla, barked briefly. The sound echoed a little in the space, but it was not prolonged or excessive. I was seated in the upper section of the room, away from other diners. I immediately asked for a minute so I could gather my things and leave calmly. Instead, I was told in no uncertain terms to get my belongings and leave at once. No attempt was made to help me or allow me a moment to pack up.
If a restaurant is not dog-free, then it has to accept that dogs may bark. If management does not want that possibility, the venue needs to be made dog-free. Forcing a paying customer out mid-meal because of a brief bark is neither fair nor reasonable.
I left in tears. My hands were shaking. A young male member of staff was the only person who showed any kindness – he helped me with the dogs, transferred the remaining food into a doggy box, and escorted me to the external window so I could pay. When I reached the window I was further criticised for having been there for an hour, despite the fact that staff had earlier invited me inside rather than leave me eating outside.
I find the entire episode absolutely disgusting. I was a lone female customer who had spent a significant amount of money and was simply trying to finish a meal I had treated myself to. The staff member who insisted I leave immediately could easily have given me a short period of time and spoken to me with basic courtesy. She has curly sandy coloured hair and very noticeable cuts all the way up her arms.If she has trauma to dogs then why let me in and get to my main course to be so rude.
Instead I was made to feel unwelcome and humiliated.
I would like a full explanation of why I was treated this way, confirmation of what training your staff receive regarding customers with dogs, and a formal apology. I also expect to hear what steps you will take to ensure this does not happen to anyone else.
I look forward to your prompt response.

Love Rockfish! Have been going for years and always have the best seafood. Ordered from the Online Seafood Market too. Couldn’t recommend it more.

Absolutely love this place! I've visited a few Rockfishes now and am continuously blown away by them! The service is always brilliant, such friendly staff, and the fish is consistently cooked to perfection. Think it's brillian what they do with their mission and sustainability too - you won't find other restaurants offering this level of diversity for british fish - it's wild! Love love love and will keep going back

I am a fairly regular lunchtime customer of Rockfish Plymouth. I visited today but I was earlier than usual (1150). The door was unlocked so I walked in only to be told by a staff member I had not seen before that "we don't open until 12 noon". In other words "get out". My questions are 1. Why was the door unlocked, and 2. Why wasn't I invited to sit down for 10 minutes until they opened. I will not be returning.

We went to the takeaway this evening for cod and chips for two, as we’ve done many times before, and until today we’ve never been disappointed. Unfortunately, this was the first time the fish tasted stale and as though it had been fried in old oil. We both commented on it straight away and were genuinely shocked and disappointed that our regular spot seems to have dropped to the standard of an average chippy — if not lower.

Honestly, we could have saved ourselves the trip and gone somewhere local that’s cheaper and serves fresher food. Has RockFish now joined the cost-cutting “old oil” club?

Exmouth:
Disappointing, expensive and greasy - just poor. Staff friendly but sadly the food was very forgettable. We’ve tried a few times now but no more.

I wrote a review of an appealing meal we had at rockfish brixham 24th April 2025.
11 months later rockfish exmouth replied complaining to trust pilot that they thought my complaint wasn’t about them.
They are correct it was rockfish brixham I reviewed.
So 11 months after the event a response from the rong restaurant.
But never any responce from rockfish brixham.
Absolutely appalling I will never go to nay of there establishments again

We had booked a table for two a wedding anniversary celebration. But left feeling completely under deflated. The staff were lovely, helpful and understanding, and appeared to be in agreement with our view. The starters were fine through small, these had to be some of the smallest oysters from the sea! For the main we ordered the platter for two people (£70). When this arrived we were almost expecting to see a second platter, it was a little more than enough for one but not enough for two, and looked extremely lacking, in its taste it did deliver. It looked like it was lacking grandeur and definitely not a show stopper. Don't get me wrong, the taste and freshness won through, only the whole dish needs to be raised up. Overpriced for what was served to the table. Thumbs up to the table server, a star.
