I was really impressed when I opened my box of retro joy. I got 3 boxed Mega Drive game all individually sealled in plastics sleeves and in very good condition.

Unfortunately I already own 2 of the games but they werent to know that and the ones from Retro Store are in better condition anyway.

I thought it was good value and am really looking forward to see what I get next time

Bought some Vinyl's for my boyfriend for Christmas, he absolutely loved the choices that were picked for him and impressed with the quality of them to the extent that he will be a regular buyer. Thank you

Received a trial box for my birthday and was delighted to find some new artists I'd never listened to. Went ahead to get a year's worth! Great value and a great idea for presents.

This is not for a serious or novice record collector by any means. My wife got me a one month subscription at $61. The average cost of the used records in that box were $2 to $6. An artist no one has heard of from the 60s, and two mass produced artists with releases past their prime in 1980. I expect more shopping in thrift stores. Do not waste you money here. Go to a sticks and bricks shop struggling to make it.

They clearly don’t think about what you’ve written about the things you listen to. Also two of the 3 records I was sent were so cheap they were paper thin and don’t even hold their shape! One was even marked ‘demo only not for sale!’
I said I liked Alice in chains as an example. I got sent Dr Hooks Greatest Hits!
I collect records, I don’t want represses of Dr Hooks greatest hits!

So far this has been super exciting and going by the reviews, I am really looking forward to see what I receive, even if its something I don't know I'm sure I'll be happy any way, thank you for having such an amazing company! I'm sure I wont be disappointed!

Got off to a bad start when I joined the retro, joined on the 3rd of December, money was taken from my account the very next day. Hogmanay came and hadn't received anything, not even a txt message keeping me up to date with my delivery. I accessed my account and noticed my order was on hold, I contacted retro and they sorted everything out. I received my albums plus they threw in an extra one for the inconvenience. Very happy with my first batch, looking forward to many more. Thanks.

Much frustration later and sadly nothing ever did arrive. I did eventually get a full refund. So at least that's a plus. A shame really I was really excited about this service.

This was my last box on personal reasons! But I have to say that all the boxes/ records that I have had through out the year have been spot on. Which has helped my collection no end. So many thanks and would recommend them . So please sign up and have some great records to your collection like I have. Many thanks Retro Records .

Had first delivery a couple of days ago. Not used yet as it’s a Christmas pressie for my hubby but what a fantastic choice of vinyls. My hubby is going to so pleased.

However, he.could not hide the smile on his face. Jackpot! We cannot wait for the next delivery. Great fun. He commented on the personal handwritten message included in the gift packaging. He asked me if they were my words. And they were.thanks for the personal touch.

With my very first box I received 2 compilations, and on the basis of my experience this choise showed lack of interest during the process of choosing the titles for your client. Besides the feeling that compilations lack often of creative engagement from side of the artist (why or why not, it's not important to be discussed here), in my personal case I got these two titles: Stevie Wonder_ love songs and Puccini_ Masterpiece classical. The first one (only the title gave me goose-bumps instantenously after the sad discovery) is something that someone (your old, ill oncle? your mother?) would have got maybe for christmas as an improvised present: why should someone collect different tracks from the glorious Mr Wonder's carrier just to put together songs, that are talking about love??. They come from different ages and they have been played with different music style: compilation sounds just "wrong" and that's a common thing by many music compilations. The second one is a miscellaneous of Puccini compositions taken from unknown concerts, played by unknown orchestras, conduct by unknown conductors. and singers (Bootlegs give no informations about it). Then why did you choose something like this? Who collected together these recordings showed no respect at all for the people who played and interpreted Puccini's music. Third cassette is an album by the british Prog Band Sky; they don't really play my kind of prog music. I think, that there were bands all over Europe that played more interesting prog music, but it's just a matter of taste. These are all little (or less little) details, which are, in my opinion, worthy to be considered during the search for the right title, and this kind of attention should be expected from a commercial activity that grounded their economical success on the magnificent past ages of the music industries. Resuming, on the basis of my experience compilations are a no-go.

Amazing Idea, terrible execution.

isn't proactive telling customers about shipping delays, tracking information doesn't actually track the shipment until its been delivered and items arrived dirty and dusty.

Will not recommend to friends and family.

Love the concept that The Retro Store is doing, I cannot be happier with my retro games! I hope they are going to continue their business for years to come, because they are the only retro game mystery box company that operates in the EU.

Pleasantly surprised.
With not knowing in advance what you're going to get in each box you have no idea what to expect when opening it. This is the perfect chance to try artists and types of music that you would not normally listen to. The quality of the vinyl itself is very good, just needed a little wipe over which is understandable given the age and that it is used. I have played two out of the three this month and so far they play fine. I think I'll be playing one of the albums I have received quite a lot, it's a great one! Looking forward to next month's box and the further surprises that await.
