Worst customer service ever

Worst customer service ever, this company FAILS in every way to deal on a human level.
I cancelled my membership via email on 1st March 2026 as a result of the death of my partner and the change in my financial situation trying to raise 2 children.
I used to get 1 box every 3 months as a treat but can no longer afford this.
Imagine my surprise when £47 was charged to my credit card this week, despite the fact that I sent a cancellation request some 12 weeks ago.
I then spoke to Anna, who was less than helpful, I asked for the box to be cancelled and my money refunded. All I could get out of her was that she could offer my £10 off my next 3 boxes but she could not cancel my membership as that can only be done by email. (Which I had already done back in march) Since then I have attempted to contact Craft Gin Club again only to receive an automated email saying that I needed to amend my box prior to the 22nd may to effect any change (I did amend my delivery in the first of march)
All I have asked for is a refund of my £47 so I can provide for my now, fatherless children.
I did not want to give up my membership, it has been one of my few pleasures in life for 9 years, but for how they have treated me, a loyal customer in a most despicable way and NO ONE seems to want to resolve my problem. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Firstly, we'd like to express our sincere condolences for the loss of your partner. We are very sorry to hear about the difficult circumstances you and your family are facing.

Having reviewed your account, we can see that you contacted us on 1st March requesting to cancel your membership. In response, we provided information on our cancellation process and the steps required to complete the request. As we did not receive any further correspondence or notification that you were unable to complete the process, the membership remained active and a subsequent renewal payment was processed in line with the membership terms.

When you contacted us again regarding the charge, we reviewed the situation and arranged a full refund of the £47 payment.

We appreciate that this was a frustrating experience, particularly given the personal challenges you are dealing with, and we're sorry that our communication left you feeling unsupported.

We value the loyalty you showed over the past nine years and are genuinely disappointed that your experience with us has resulted in this outcome. While we followed our standard procedures, we recognise that there are occasions where we can do better in understanding individual circumstances, and your feedback has been shared with the relevant teams for review.

Awful company

Awful company, make you jump through hoops to cancel in the hope you’ll just leave your subscription running.

We would like to clarify that there are no hoops to jump through to cancel a membership. All that is required is a quick call with our team to process the cancellation, and on average this takes around two minutes, including wait time.

My online shopping resulted in a gift…

My online shopping resulted in a gift of rum samples which were sent out immediately. Packed really well, they were a lovely treat. Customer service at Craft Gin Club is very responsive. Today I spoke with Anna. She is polite, dealt with my query straight away, without any objections. Perfect! X

No longer a good company

I am still unhappy my gin order is going to be shipped despite me cancelling it and the fact it’s being prepared to ship and not already gone. I cancelled it ages ago as knew I would be on holiday

Hi Linda, We're sorry to hear you're disappointed.

As outlined in our membership terms, memberships renew automatically each month until cancelled, and cancellations need to be made before the monthly renewal date to prevent the next order from being processed.

Once an order has entered preparation and fulfilment, we are unfortunately unable to stop it from being dispatched, even if it has not yet physically left our warehouse. This is due to the way our fulfilment process operates and applies across our membership orders.

We appreciate this can be frustrating, particularly if you're going to be away, however we do aim to make our membership terms and renewal process clear at sign-up and in our member communications.

Ridiculous cancellation policy

Nice rum but they make it very difficult to cancel. I rang today, was on hold for 7 minutes then was cut off. Feels like the company is either a decade behind on technology or deliberately making the cancellation process difficult.

We're sorry to hear that your experience when attempting to contact us was frustrating. While we appreciate that being placed on hold and then disconnected is disappointing, this is certainly not the experience we aim to provide.

Our average call waiting time and call handling time are both around two minutes, and the vast majority of cancellation requests are completed quickly over the phone. However, we recognise that individual experiences can vary, particularly during busier periods, and we're sorry that your call did not go as expected.

We would also like to reassure you that our cancellation process is not designed to make leaving difficult. The process is in place to ensure membership changes are handled securely and accurately, but we understand how it can feel frustrating when you're unable to get through first time.

They subscribed me without consent!

Bought a taster pack through an offer that came through my phone company (Lebara) but had no idea I was then going to be signed up without my permission for a subscription to Craft Gin Club. I called them to sort it out and was told they would cancel it but that they couldn’t do anything about the money they have deducted from my account today for a bottle of gin I did not order and do not want. Such bad form - these unethical business practices got to be called out.

Hi Robert, We're sorry to hear you feel this way, however we would like to clarify how our memberships work.

Craft Gin Club memberships cannot be started without customer consent. Memberships are only created when a customer signs up, and during the sign-up process we provide multiple reminders that the offer includes an ongoing subscription. We also send a series of follow-up emails confirming the membership and explaining how it works.

Regarding the recent charge, like many subscription businesses we work to order deadlines. Once an order has been processed and is already in fulfilment, we are unable to stop it from being dispatched. However, if you no longer wish to receive it, you can return the order to us and we will arrange a refund in line with our returns process.

We always aim to be clear and transparent about our memberships and are sorry to hear this was not your experience.

I had been a member for many years and…

I had been a member for many years and have rather a LOT of gin at present. I loved the club but after being in from the start need to drink some more and start again. Anna on the phone was a delight she did her job offered options to pause etc was polite and not challenging one of the best phone calls to cancel. Anna was great and if I was one to stay she would do it but not unpleasant or pushy.

A pathetic shambolic company I have (…

A pathetic shambolic company I have ( on 6 separate occasions, emailed to cancel my subscription using their own online forms.
After each cancellation I note another attempt to steal money from my bank account has been made . People need to think carefully before signing up with these charlatans

We have reviewed your contact history and can confirm we have received two emails from you, both of which were responded to on the same day with information regarding the cancellation process.

We can also see that the email address used to contact us was not linked to an active membership account. For security reasons, we are unable to cancel memberships without sufficient account information, which is why our team asked you to call us so we could locate the correct membership details and assist further.

We would also like to reassure customers that we do not take payments from cancelled memberships, and our cancellation process is available online and supported by our member services team.

Impossible to cancel subscription - don't risk offer

Impossible to cancel subscription. Do not be taken in by the initial offer. Don't risk it because you'll be sent a second delivery for £37 even after cancelling. If you can't cancel on the gin club website get on to your bank to ensure no future payments will go through. I'm sure this operation is illegal by not making it easily possible to cancel
Following feedback from the club, I looked again for the umpteenth time for details of a telephone number to call and there is NO number shown anywhere on their website or in the member area.

Great customer service!

Me and my partner have absolutely loved receiving the rum box every other month and can highly recommend it to anyone. We had to recently cancel the subscription due to me being pregnant and when i called up Bianca was soo lovely, joyful and completed the process really quick for me. A big thank you! 😊 We will definitley consider getting the subscription again once baby is here !
