I had a very very bad experience with Adam and Golan, I was nearly taking my matter to the police or the director of the company. I'm acutely aware that when you put a deposit on a car, they can't sell the car. Well, I put a deposit of £500 on a volvo Xc90 and wanted to go with Car group finance. But my Mrs found a cheaper ARP and said we should use our own finance, simply for that reason, I was standing at the Car group in Bury and they sold the car i had already deposited £500 to another customer whilst I was still there. This was unacceptable and was told to come back the following week for my refund, I have to leave my business to travel to Car group Bury for me refund, my finance company had already called 3times the day before to finalise and make payment,but they were very reluctant to deal with him as they wanted to use their finance. My finance call Golan and told him he was gonna report him. Guys watchout, these guys in my view are not very straightforward.I was treated unfairly and I'm gonna take futher actions. I never knew that you must use the dealers finance regardless of their APR, but this will be tested. Golan came across to be a bully and every staff I noticed looks at him as a God. He lacks respect for customers and treated me like I need a favour of him. I was there to buy a car worth nearly 40k and he dares treated me so awful. Guys be wise with him, he calls the business his, and said no one can tell him how to run his business.

Shocking Customer Service!!
Saw an advert on car gurus website listed for a merc e-class advertised by the car group. It fit all my criteria for what I was looking for therefore I checked out their website where they boast they are the "The UK's largest indoor heated showroom" - just google thecargroup bury. With a professional looking website there has been VERY LITTLE professionalism shown, IF ANY, from their sales team. I made an initial phone call mid week and said I would be able to visit the showroom on the Friday as I would be travelling from another city. Spoke to a guy called Raf who was quick to point out the whole dealers BS of you best reserve the car otherwise it may be gone by the time you get down. Got told that when I reserve the car, the listing would be taken down from car gurus and any other platform including their website AND if I did not choose to purchase for any reason then I would be entitled to a refund. Took my payment details, sent me an email confirmation of payment and booked me in for a test drive for 11am Friday.
Friday comes along and I have arranged to get picked up at Manchester piccadilly train station around 10am. I thought if there is any delay I'll ring them to see if I can push the test drive to 12.
So I RANG THEM just after 9am to ask if the appointment could be delayed by an hour because I was ON THE TRAIN to Manchester and then would get driven by a friend to their showroom in Bury. AT FIRST I get told that is not a problem...around 15-20 mins later I get an unexpected call to say the car has FAILED MOT (WHAT THE FRICK?!) and that I won't be able to test drive it today...so basically what you're telling me is that IF ME, MYSELF & I had not rang to tell you I'm on my way, I would of travelled all that way for you to say the car can't be driven?? Why you even selling a car that's not even road worthy??
I got told why don't you come down to see other cars available and I declined because I reserved that car for a reason (because it fits the model, plate, mileage etc)...got told by Raf I'll give you an update within the next hour or so...
GUESS WHAT FOLKS...arrive in Manchester just after 10am and no update! From the train station it’s around a 45min drive to the showroom, SO I RING them again trying to get hold of Raf with no luck - throughout the day I am asking for an update and speak to various people who give me all sorts of BS excuses that Raf is not available...from he's dealing with another customer to he's on his lunchbreak BUT that he would ring me back today...
THE WHOLE DAY GETS WASTED AS THERE IS NO UPDATE!!
By this time I just want my refund back as obviously I am dealing with a guy DUCKING MY PHONECALLS. On Saturday morning I ring again and AGAIN I get told Raf will ring you asap within the next hour...to NO SURPRISE I RECEIVE NO PHONECALL...had to ring up 2nd time and kick off and DEMAND A REFUND after shambolic customer service...to which I got told oh you'll have to ring on Monday as "the refund person" doesn't work on saturday and we don't have the authority to issue refunds...no customer service to say we'll ring you on monday and get this refund sorted out for you since its OUR FAULT!!
GUESS WHAT...I'm ringing again on Monday (2/9/24) to sort out a refund. Eventually speak to Raf who gives a meaningless apology of how the car has a major fault and could not be sold...Asked for a refund AND for a confirmation email of the refund (just like I got a confirmation email of payment being taken since QUICK to take payment but not so quick to return it)...got told my refund would take a few working days...LO AND BEHOLD IT HAS BEEN A WEEK & THE MONEY HAS NOT BEEN FUNDED NOR HAVE I RECEIVED A REFUND CONFIRMATION EMAIL...as I am writing this review I have been told by Olivia from the reception team that refunds can take take 7-10 working days after taking all my details down AGAIN including name, reg number of the car I was meant to test drive and my email...
IRONIC THING IS...THE CARS LISTING NEVER GOT TAKEN DOWN AFTER I RESERVED THE CAR LIKE IT WAS MEANT TO...AND IS STILL BEING ADVERTISED ON THEIR WEBSITE & CAR GURUS WEBSITE (thecargroupcouk/used-mercedes-benz-e-class-bury-greater-manchester-6056542) even though I have been told it has a major fault and can't be sold...YOU DO THE MATHS!
UPDATE on 13/02/24: the refund has come into my account and i’m glad i won’t have to deal with them again!!

Avoid garage at all costs
After my post, I had a message from them to contact me, which I did. Guess what, nothing since!
We have had various errors on our XC60, within the first week of purchase. We have tried to contact via phone and email and have had no response, we now have a car that we have been unable to drive for 4 weeks. I would avoid this garage at all costs. There is no after care service.

I recently purchased an M4
I recently purchased an M4, and it's been nothing but problems from day one. The issues with the car are endless, and to make matters worse, the aftersales service is absolutely terrible. They’ve been ignoring my concerns, showing no interest in resolving the issues. It’s clear they just don't care once the sale is done.
I’ve already reached out to the finance company to reject the car, and I strongly advise anyone considering buying a car here to think twice. Save yourself the hassle and avoid this dealership at all costs. They know exactly who this is, and I won’t stop until this is sorted.

Beware The Illusion - Trust At Your Peril
Beware the illusion- Trust at your peril.
After a 37 year career involving, investigating, pursuing and prosecuting companies who put public safety at risk, were happy to defraud, or were general rogues, it looks as though I have relaxed a little too much since retiring a few months ago. It appears I have been a little too trusting of The Car Group’s review score of 4.1 ‘great’, (without reading the 204 1 star ratings before buying); the self issued MOT’s; and the dealer being signed up to the AA’s Car Standards scheme and in particular-’making sure every vehicle is in good condition, and ‘honouring obligations under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 to protect your purchase’.
After purchasing a Range Rover Evoque on the 25 August that is not fit or safe to be on the road, I am now seeking a full refund, but so far the after sales service is proving as evasive as appears to be the experience of many of the 204 other unfortunate individuals who have provided 1 star ratings for this firm.
Looks like I will be going ‘back to work’ for a few weeks.

I was sold a toyota Prius NX64FDZ that was dangerous to be on the road. In under 30 days into the purchase it was nothing but a disaster. This car had to be repaired 3X and problems were still there. I asked for my money back and was told by management "you need to go to court if you think we will give you your money back".
My calls were ignored by now emails one after another were ignored. Even the legal team didn't bother to contact me back. Eventually I had to take them to court.
I got my money back eventually via court and their excuse was miscommunication etc etc.which was a lie because over 10 messages and emails and me attending was all ignored. DO NOT STEP FOOT
INTO THE CAR GROUP.
