Beyond frustrating
Telephone eventually answered, wrong department, very help person put me through to the customer service team who answered immediately & provided my policy number (but would not change the address for me without a payment of £25) online I went to my account, after scratching my head for a while I selected 'incorrect address' & over typed my old address with my new one & it worked.
I now have the correct address on my policy & the AA owes me £7 apparently. I won't hold my breath
I'm now 30 minutes into a queue to speak to a human being to change my address & be legal to drive, I'm not even sure its the right number but its the only one I can find.
If I ever get through I will update.
At the moment I would pay double the premium to avoid ever having to deal with the AA again
Attempted to change the address on my policy, unable to edit online as only shows my breakdown cover.
After a long wait I was put through to an online agent, who must have come first in the class in being deliberately unhelpful. The agent told me as I have AA breakdown cover through my bank account I can't log into my car insurance unless I create a new account using a different email address (because of course we all have 2 email addresses) or the agent could change the address for me but would charge me £25.
I then attempted to create a new account using my wife's email address, all went well until I was asked for my policy number, which I can't get because I can only log into my breakdown cover, so perhaps naively I tried the online chat again & was informed they are unable to provide policy numbers.
So it would appear I hand over £25 for a few seconds work or I'm not insured.

The AA website is really frustrating
The AA website is really frustrating. Everytime I used the back button I had to sign in again. I nearly gave up, and you nearly lost a sale.

Appalling service and no explanation
I organised to renew my insurance over the phone.
The day after it was supposed to have restarted I received a text and an email stating I had chosen not to renew and my policy had ended. I was in my car at the time. This meant that I could have illegally driven off in an uninsured car.
It took me almost an hour to get through to an actual person on the phone and reinstate my insurance so that I could drive home.
The agent I spoke to was very nice and understanding but could offer no explanation although she confirmed I had arranged my renewal over the phone 3 weeks prior to the renewal date.
I only renewed as I did not have time to start again with a new company as I needed to drive home.

By far and away the best quote which is reasonable and not a rip- off. Your representative was pleasant to deal with and easy to understand.
