The customer service and engagement, along with the amazing look and quality of the shoes, are what really set Thomas Bird apart. I needed a new pair of shoes for my daughter’s wedding just a few days before the big event, and Thomas Bird worked with me to help pick out just the right style and size. I got them with plenty of time to spare and was delighted. My Thomas Birds paired perfectly with my top hat and tails — they were a huge hit at the wedding. Thank you Thomas Bird!

High quality shoes, run a little large
Sizes run large by about 1/2 to 1. Shoes take a bit to break in, but they are high quality. If shipping internationally (I’m a US customer) expect an extra day on expedited shipping, but I was impressed they got here as fast as they did.

Benson Wholecut Oxford Almond Tan
I bought the Benson wholecut shoes in olive one year ago (very satisfied with them) and was pleased to see Thomas Bird release a new offering in almond tan.
What drew me to the almond tan is that it's an uncommon color that will stand out. It has some yellow tones, so it's going to pair well with warmer color suits (tan, lighter green, earth tones, medium gray and colors such as terracotta). It's more of a shoe to wear in the spring and summer, making it a great option for semi-formal and dressy casual settings.
As for the fit, it's comfortable and I did not need a breaking-in period. The chiseled toe elevates the shoe to another level of sophistication that is not going to be seen regularly.
Finally, I was impressed with how fast I received the shoes. I live in the United States, and the shoes arrived within four days after placing the order. Another great offering from Thomas Bird for people wanting something that stands out from the crowd.

Colour me impressed with Thomas Bird
My experience - having purchased a range of shoes from Thomas Bird over the last couple of years (chelsea boots, harness boots, double monks and wholecut oxfords) - is very positive. I appreciate the careful and extensive product photography, which has given my (now proven) confidence that the colour will be as promised. The quality is very high across the board, the designs are distinctive, colour saturation is fabulous, and prices fair for what you get. I have had uniformly quick and fair after-sales service on every purchase. I thoroughly recommend this small company.

One Saturday, I was searching for a new pair of higher-end shoes and came across Thomas Bird through a search engine. I clicked the link, but I was skeptical about what I would find, given my previous experiences with online shopping. I worried that the selection might not meet my expectations.
As I browsed the site, I was pleased to see a variety of styles, even if they were pricier than average. After some hesitation, I found a pair that stood out to me. While they weren’t cheap, the design seemed promising, and I decided to give them a shot.
