TalkTalk: All Talk, No Service
TalkTalk claim to be “on a mission to do things differently.” That much is true. What you do differently is deliver an astonishing level of incompetence while showing complete disregard for your customers’ time, intelligence, and patience.
For over two months, I have been trapped in an endless loop of pointless emails, broken promises, and mind-numbing phone calls. I have wasted over nine hours speaking to representatives who are incapable of resolving the issue, unwilling to take responsibility, or openly indifferent. Not once has there been progress. Not once has there been ownership. not one apology! This is not support — it is obstruction.
Your slogan “customer care that actually cares” is not misleading marketing — it is a blatant falsehood. In reality, TalkTalk delivers chaos, poor communication, zero accountability, and a complete absence of competence. Every interaction has been exhausting, frustrating, and utterly futile.
This is not a minor failure. It is a systemic collapse of basic customer service. For a company that claims to be a serious broadband provider, this level of dysfunction is frankly humiliating. You do not “shake things up”; you grind customers down through sheer ineptitude.
If anyone is still with TalkTalk, consider this a clear warning: leave immediately. There are countless providers offering better prices, functional service, and staff who understand their jobs. Some, such as BT, will even buy out your contract — making escape both easy and worthwhile.

Zero is my actual rating, or even minus. Absolutely disgusting. I tried everything I possibly could to sort my issue. I was treated like dirt by a company that has had my money for 10 years. Belive me, I tried every way. Was shouted at by their staff. Was spoken down to. Spoken to in a language I don't speak. Oh and before you suggest it. I will not contact your company. I've taken enough abusive behaviour from you. Talk talk are vile.

I am raising a formal complaint regarding ongoing service issues and the handling of my recent support chat. I contacted support to complain about continued problems with my line and to request a refund for the last month, as the service has not been provided as agreed. During the chat, I was given only a few minutes to respond before the agent closed the conversation without resolving the issue or allowing me to reply. I do not consider this acceptable customer service. I am requesting: A refund for the last month of service A review and waiver of any early termination fee, given the unresolved faults and poor handling of my complaint Please confirm that this complaint has been logged and advise on the next steps. I expect a proper response rather than the conversation being closed without resolution.

TT breached my contract by 2 months of no service,
They agreed to this and apologised I was then free to move service which I did and they ported my service to Sky as requested, They continued to take payments for further 3 months before I noticed so I stopped this at the bank, they then continued to demand payment for several months, At which point they put this on my credit file with Equifax and Experian, I've tried to get it removed as it affects my credit rating, despite the fact that I took screen shots (highly advised) of the online chat they refused to budge so the county court will be advised to claim my money back plus inconvenience, They have this one opportunity to correct their mistake and refund me and remove the credit rating, I asked (check my file) to request this through the credit agency but TT once again refuse saying its correct or budge on the matter

Update⛔With TALKTALK broadband provider.Had full fibre broadband 150 few months back after several ongoing issues which finally got resolved.Few weeks ago updated package to 500.Since updated packed,still only got 150.So after several ongoing contacting TALKTALK,they said they've updated our package to 500,when infact they have'nt.This moring had an early call from an OPENREACH ENGINEER who said he's got us down as 150 not 500 omg ! He tested oir broadband speed & confirmed we are still on 150.He said our broadband provider TALKTALK has not informed OPENREACH to INCREASE OUR BROADBAND SPEEDS...
My MENTAL HEALTH HAS BEEN AFFECTED THROUGHOUT THIS WHOLE TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE NOW.😭😭😭
Worst customer service I have ever seen …
3 times in a year been without internet due to faulty talk talk equipment, I spent 3 and a half hours on live chat being passed from pillow to post, 8 different agents and no1 could sort a problem all agents did was lie to me, no1 cares at talk talk. The worst customer service I have ever seen in my life, avoid talk talk like the plague
Truly horrible
Truly horrible. Terrible experience with them. Awful communication, it takes me days to get in contact with anyone and then takes days after that to get anything sorted after speaking to multiple different people and having to re explain the issue over and over. Billed incorrectly multiple times.
Avoid TalkTalk – poor service, poor communication, and aggressive billing
I rarely leave reviews, but I feel compelled to share this experience to warn others.
We left TalkTalk after months of unreliable service. The router worked intermittently, customer support was consistently poor, and as someone working from home, the outages meant I was unable to work for days at a time. Payments were always up to date, but the service simply did not function. Eventually, we switched providers and were told by TalkTalk that the account was closed.
Six months later, completely out of the blue, I received a phone call saying we owed over £150 and that it had to be paid within seven days. There had been no prior emails, letters, or notifications. When I explained that we had not used their service for months and had already changed provider, I was effectively told it didn’t matter. Despite the router clearly not working on our end, TalkTalk claimed they could see “no issues” and refused to engage further.
Wanting to be done with the situation, we paid the full amount to the penny after being told that once this balance was settled, the account could be closed.
Shortly after, I then received an email from debt collectors stating we owed a further £74.52 as a “cancellation fee”. This was a shock, especially after being explicitly told on the phone that the previous payment would be the final one. On top of this, I continued to receive repeated emails and phone calls chasing payment, despite my earlier conversations with TalkTalk confirming the matter was resolved.
I have now paid this final amount simply to wash my hands of the company and again requested that the account be closed.
The overall experience has been exhausting and stressful. TalkTalk’s automated support system is useless, takes you in circles, and makes it extremely difficult to speak to a human. When you finally do, the attitude is dismissive, unhelpful, and clearly focused on ending the call rather than resolving the issue.
This has been one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had. Poor communication, aggressive billing practices, and a complete lack of accountability. I would strongly advise others to think carefully before choosing TalkTalk as a provider.

I have been with talk talk for approximately 3 years, and year upon year the bill has gone up, bearing in mind the internet was always really slow.
I have been out of contract for approximately 2 years, I was on a web chat this evening to cancel my subacute I no longer need it.
I was told they needed 30 days notice and I would be charged another £38.50 as it will take them 30 days to cancel my service when we all know all they need to do is disconnect this.
I would avoid talk talk and go for a reputable company that would charge you with respect and fairness.

Didnt have internet for 3 weeks, they said they would get it fixed in a week. Terrible resolution . I took matters into my own hands with changing my service provider and they still charged me an early termination fee. Do not recommend this company
Absolutely appalling
Absolutely appalling. All working fine in the morning then suddenly in afternoon no access to emails. Internet still working, just no email access.
Tried several times in usual method but only got a totally blank screen response. Went to TalkTalk MyAccount & tried to log in there instead but it wouldn't recognise me (knew me a few months ago with same info that was all auto-saved).
Spent 5 hours, 5 HOURS, shoved from pillow to post between 9 DIFFERENT CS AGENTS none of which were any help at all, just round in circles with same questions, same response.
The last 9th agent finally told me that TalkTalk no longer recognise or support any email address domain using Tiscali or TalkTalk ! Are they not TalkTalk anymore then - or was that just more BS from another agent.
Told me I have to go in & change my access email address but since I can't log in how do I do that & defo do not want to change my email address to all the biz, medical & friends - especially since I have med issues.
They were, again, totally useless.

There should a minus zero rating for this diabolical company. Zero service during contract and then insult to injury when you leave they apply bogus charges for direct debit cancellation when you have already paid 1 month in advance. Failure to advise you of terms and conditions when leaving so they can hide behind these to justify their bogus penalty charges. Zero customer service support and when you do finally get to speak to someone using broken English, they will just serve you word salad with a side dressing of condescension. Stay away from this despicable company, there overall 1 star rating on trust pilot is not for nothing. Avoid, Avoid, Avoid!!!

Have NOT received the promised calculated compensation
Tried to call to speak to my complaints handler to find out how much compensation I am receiving as they forced me to wait 30 days before the calculated the figure (for box and product faults, no wifi for weeks, poor customer service, delays, putting phone down on me when on hold for 1.5 hours, sending incorrect item , loads of errors and calls and more !)
Tried to speak to someone and they put the phone down one me after lengthy call waiting, promised a call back didn’t get one, then had a letter saying my complaint is closed as they couldn’t get hold of me ?!! Still NO compensation.
Open my complaint and send me my compensation! No one has called me to resolve apologise or send me the owed compensation .

An opportunity to cancel your TalkTalk contract without penalty
TalkTalk is adding a charge for its call safe service of £1 per month but as this is a change to your contract terms and conditions you have the right to cancel the contract without penalty. They have sent out emails confirming this option.
I wonder if anyone else has tried to cancel their contract without penalty.
I helped my dad who is 92 to contact the Online chat service to cancel his contract and it is a disgrace. The person we chatted to told us there would be an £89 charge to cancel and eventually checked his account and agreed that he can cancel without penalty. This process took an hour and a half to complete because TalkTalk customer service is convoluted to make it very difficult to resolve the smallest issue unless you are prepared to spend hours on online chat.
At the end of the process the ask you to keep your direct debit open (or there may be a charge) so they can take a full months payment when due and write to tell you how you can contact them to apply for any overpayment to be refunded (another hour and a half on online chat?) then a wait to receive your money back. This is a good example of how the TalkTalk customer services are designed to benefit TalkTalk not customers.
After today I would advise you to bite the bullet, accept they will make it hard and get out while you can.

Internet down for days spent in total 4 hours on an online chat getting it sorted, 1 engineer visit 1 new router 6 days later still no internet another hour on the online chat to be told it’s the Ethernet cable even though they sent a new Ethernet cable with the new router so I find it hard to believe that 2 cables are faulty.

I wrote before here and after around one month i still don’t have internet. Customer service is a nightmare and every day i am spending hours to call and chat. I am sick of spending more than 40 hours to chat and phone calls with the customer service. Last week a supervisor told i raised a complaint for you and one of our managers will call, that call never happened. Today after 2 hours waiting on phone, the manager said we can’t do anything about and this is the procedure and there is no complaint on your account, and we will call you which i know they don’t. Don’t go after this company at any cost, they just don’t care how much problems they made for you and of course they do nothing to fix.

When trying to leave they would not cancel everyone's fault but there's I had to pay an extra month because they would not cancel I tried to go with EE talk talk would not let me then virgin after 12 phone calls endless complaining I have at last left, customer services was awful so so rude I hope higher management bothers to listen to phone call
Cannot access my email since shell…
Cannot access my email since shell transferred all our broadband and phone services to talk talk. Have been trying for months but get nowhere via their chat boxes. Now my bill has gone up inspite of having a fixed price contract until 4th September 2026!
