4 weeks ago I had total knee replacement surgery in Valencia with Tailordoc. After being passed from pillar to post with the NHS, it took them 6 months just to diagnose what the problem was. The remedy they suggested was a steroid injection and if that didn't help I could get back in touch and they would then offer further treatment. So I decided to take matters in to my own hands and did some research on the internet about private treatment. Prices in the UK were quite steep but I came across Tailordoc which offered a complete package at a reasonable price. Surgery in a modern hospital and 2 weeks rehab in a hotel/rehab centre. From the moment I made the decision everything went extremely well, Carlos, who arranged it all and picked me up at the airport, the hospital and staff were all friendly and helpful. After 3 days in hospital I was taken to Denia where I under went physio. This really made a difference, a dedicated team of physiotherapists who oversaw daily gym and physio sessions. The hotel in Denia is lovely as are all the staff. Now I am back in the UK and already walking unaided, I can climb stairs and use my gym equipment, bike, cross-trainer etc. A big thanks to Carlos, Dr Corbi, and all the physio team!

This was a very well organised package which worked brilliantly, all of the staff involved were very helpful and in a marvellous location.
I was unable to bring any family out with me but would highly recommend it as once the surgery has been performed it will initially be more difficult to get about.
If you are worried about the language difference a lot of the staff had some English but a translation device is available, I used Google translate from my phone.
I have spoken to other people who have had a knee replacement on the UK NHS and aftercare has been non-existant. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone. This has been my best hospital experience in 60+ years.

I am now 6 weeks on from having a Total Hip Replacement through Tailordoc, recovering really well and the whole experience has been great. For me, the abiggest appeal of the Tailordoc package was the post-op rehab, and I was not at all dissapointed.
From the initial discussion with Carlos they wqere able to get me in for the surgery in just a couple of weeks once I had got hold of my scans frrom my health board.
Once we reached Valencia, everything was handled really well. We were collected from the airport and checked in to the hospital. Pre-op tests and x-rays were done and the procedure was performed the next day. Naturally, the level of English spoken in the hospital by the nurses, porters etc was limited, but this didn't cause us any problems (sign language and google trranslate got us by). My partner was abele to stay in the hospital room with me on a sofa with bedding provided.
After a couple of nights recovering, we were driven down the coast to Denia and checked into the hotel for rehab. The hotel was lovely and the physio session twice a day on weekdays really put me on the road to recovery. The pysio team were really nice, very professional. The sessions were tailored to where you were uop to and how you were feeling that day, one session one-on-one helping use the walkers or crutches, getting you moving right and able to use the stairs safely, combined with massage and mobilisation. The other daily session was a supervised in the Gym with a few people in there at a time, building mobility, capability and confidence. The Physio team were also there checking surgical dressings, mobility aids and anything else needed.
Being in the hotel with several others recovering from hip, knee and other surgeries was a really good experience, with everyone motivating and helping each other. I had my partner with me, and most people had someone similar, but a couple of people were by themselves; it was more challenging fotr them, but we all helped each other out.
At the end of the stay, were were picked up and taken back to the airport. for me, it was a really positive experience, and really put my recovery on the right path very quickly. My partner had a nice holiday in teh sun!
I hope I won't need it, but if I need teh other hip, or my knees srting in teh future, I'll be looking to do it this way again.

Four weeks ago today I was coming around from the sedative after having my hip replaced so now seems a good time to post some feedback.
Going abroad to be cut open, have the top of your femur sawn off and a chunk of ironmongery installed is not a decision you take lightly. Based on the information available and the online reviews we decided that TailorDoc was a good option. That choice turned out to be the right one.
Prior to departure, getting everything organised was facilitated perfectly by Carlos. All done by phone call or WhatsApp and we arrived in Valencia without a hitch. Carlos also ensured things ran smoothly for the duration of treatment and rehab.
At the hospital everything was well-organised. All the nursing staff, Dr Corbi and the staff in the operating theatre were both professional and friendly and the surgery went well. The porters probably think I’m a British equivalent of Manuel from Fawlty Towers but we had a laugh. I was up and walking and having physio the next day. There was discomfort from the surgery (as you would expect) but the old arthritis pain had disappeared.
We then transferred to the hotel. The rehab physio team were absolutely outstanding. The programme is such that you feel improvement day on day. The hotel itself is lovely and the food was excellent; that makes you feel better as well. Ray was great for getting us from place to place.
So four weeks later, I’m walking >1km per day and using a 23 step staircase normally and not even taking paracetamol.
As I said previously, it’s not a decision to be taken lightly but based on my experience I would recommend TailorDoc without hesitation.

I have never in my 70 years felt so helpless and neglected by the NHS in the UK. I had a catastrophic fall in January this year which resulted in a total loss of the left knee rendering me incapable of driving, sitting, walking and most importantly sleeping, the pathway was weeks of GP appointments, MRI scans, X-rays, fracture clinics and emergency A&E when the pain became to much. After 12 weeks of this the hospital said I needed a new knee but it would be 18 months for this to happen, I came home in the most depressed state and contemplated my future, my wife said this is not right, let's get it done somewhere in Europe.
We reviewed lots of hospitals who could do this but after hours of research one package stood out from the rest, so we pressed a button and thought ok let's see what happens.
That is when the magic happened (sounds dramatic but so true) within an hour we were called by Carlos who is TAILOR DOC, we gave him a thorough history, he asked so many questions about my health, my medication, my state of mind, the knee and then followed that with everything that TAILOR DOC could do for me!.
It was the smoothest, professional, caring, uplifting experience to talk to someone who answered everything I needed to know and immediately started to put the package together, giving me a clear and precise breakdown of the itinerary, cost, the consultant performing the surgery whom we met on arrival at the hospital.
We flew to Valencia on the Tuesday, Carlos picked us up at the airport and took us straight to the hospital Vithas, we met the consultant Mr Corbi within the hour who totally put me at ease with what would happen to me. I was introduced to the nurses, shown my own private room with bathroom and send for x-rays and blood tests, all within an hour, my surgery took place the following day and by that evening Mr Corbi came back to explain the procedure and said everything was very good, the same evening Carlos came back in again to see me. By the Friday I was ready to be taken to the rehabilitation hotel in Denia by a great guy called Ray the driver from Medifit, we took all the necessary medication with us to take over the next 12 days.
My 12 days of rehabilitation and physiotherapy were beyond expectation, an hour of physio and tissue massage every morning and an hour of gym work in the afternoon, crutches, wheelchairs and even mobility scooters all available free of charge to help you with your recovery. The hotel was great, our room was a mini suite and the staff were fantastic especially a lovely lady called Christina who always had a smile.
Again Carlos was in contact with us everyday and even came to Denia twice to make sure we had everything we needed and to see personally how we were doing. At the end of the 12 days we were taken back to the airport (by Ray)for our journey home which felt more like leaving from a holiday than a surgical procedure.
Please if you have any reservations about going abroad to have knee or hip surgery put your trust in TAILOR DOC and Carlos, you will not be disappointed or let down, I am 4 weeks today post surgery and people do not believe my recovery.

When you undertake a decision about travelling abroad for Surgery, it stirs up all sorts of concerns. Is this a scam, am I making a mistake. Well if you are reading this and you have had your doubts, please please take my advice and get yourself onboard. This has been the best decision I have made about my health. I had already sat on the NHS waiting list for over a year and my pain was escalating. I really had no quality of life. Then I was told about TaylorDoc. I immediately contacted Carlos and the rest is history. Everything was arranged for me and it was like clockwork. ICarlos met us at València Airport and transported us to The Hospital. My husband and I were shown to a large double
Room. I was introduced to my surgeon Doctor Fernando Corbi Aguirre. Like Carlos Doctor Corbi was equally charming and immediately put my mind at rest. My Surgery took place the next day April. 1st
Everything was perfect. The staff the Hospital and a wonderful surgeon. Three days later I was transferred to the Hotel Denia which is the rehabilitation centre. We were shown to a junior suite . Lounge, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. Everything was immaculate. The following 12 days were a whirlwind of 11 sessions of physio and gym excercises. To cap it all. We were travelling on to stay with my daughter who lives in Spain and they even arranged our transfer to her home.
If you are reading this and you need reassurance I am happy to answer any queries you may have.

A 5* experience from start to finish!
Have no apprehensions, everything you need is taken care of. The hospital experience: spotless, *Top* surgeon and understudies who communicate with you throughout, followed by caring ward staff in attendance 24/7 who can't do enough. Physio Hotel experience: personalised physio each day, checking, cleaning of the wound to make sure all as is should be and get you on your way quickly.
Tailordoc Coordination: Carlos cannot do enough for you, constantly checking for your every needs.

Mum is a new woman after her hip replacement. The whole process, from initial contact through to operation, aftercare and contact from the team has been incredible.

2 hrs per day in blocks of 1hr sessions of gentle exercise & massage makes your healing immediate, focuses you to improve & also gives you the confidence knowing you are improving.

Honestly, I cannot emphasise enough how important this complete package for a knee or hip replacement is with TailorDoc & would highly recommend again & again.
The only small criticism is that the hospital food is poor which Carlos explained & I can confirm its true but the food in the rehabilitation hotel is excellent. 😊

Due to long NHS wait for total hip replacement, I decided to review private options abroad. After extensively researching Dr Corbi, TailorDoc, the hospital and hotel, I then made contact with Carlos. We had a detailed conversation regarding my hip, which Carlos followed up with an email, confirming what I said and the next steps. Three weeks later, my partner and I were met by Carlos at Velencia airport, whisked off to hospital, with surgery the next day. It was all so smooth and efficient. I was given a handheld translator, however I always felt my needs were tended to and Carlos visited several times during the hospital stay and was always at the end of the phone.

Transfered to the hotel in Denia - absolutely lovely. Room set up for my needs. Food was top class! Extremely clean and efficient hotel. Physio was brilliant - the staff were extremely helpful, knowledgeable and motivational. When I left to go home, I was walking comfortably with one crutch.
I attended physio back in Scotland who said I was '95% ahead of most people at 3 weeks post surgery'. 4.5 weeks in, no stick in house, scar has healed incredibly well. Anterior approach has left a very small scar with minimal discomfort.

This whole experience has been positive from the first contact with Carlos. I have felt supported, listened to and most importantly, I have healed so well.

I will need my 2nd hip done within the next few years. This has been such a positive experience, I cant risk getting it done anywhere else.

I recently travelled from the north of Scotland with my husband to have a total hip replacement and I cannot express how impressed we were with the services that Tailordoc provided. From our very first correspondence with Carlos any questions we had were dealt with quickly, paperwork was efficient and clear and it put us completely at ease in making our decision to proceed with them - which is more than I can say when dealing with private clinics in the Uk. Dr Corbi has done a brilliant job on my hip. The physio team at medifit in Denia were great and the benefit of having an hour in the gym and an hour hands on physio daily with them has made the recovery even quicker and less painful. Since returning home I have had physios and medical staff both commenting on how good it is looking and how ahead I am with my recovery. I cannot thank everybody enough at Tailordoc for their services, they really did make a rather daunting experience incredibly reassuring and I am am so pleased to have found them - if I need my other hip done I will be straight back in contact with Carlos.

It's now four weeks since my surgery and I'm back home in the UK, doing very well. I turned to Tailordoc for my total knee replacement (TKR) because a) they could provide robotic-assisted surgery for my slightly more complex needs with pre-existing metalwork; and b) because it's a full package with the inclusion of two weeks of physiotheraphy. Everyone I met during this entire experience was kind, caring, professional, and helpful. Carlos, Dr Corbi, the hospital staff, drivers, and the entire physio team. It's a little daunting travelling overseas, alone (my situation), to a country where you don't speak the language. Don't worry - you'll get by!

If you're planning a TKR, remember that the surgery is just the beginning. The physio included in the TailorDoc package is the foundation for healing. You have to work at it. It's not a magic overnight solution: it's a major operation that needs both recovery time, pain management, (ice packs or frozen peas have been my best friends), and your own effort, every day. Some days are better than others, but there's always some progress to cherish each and every day.

We researched all the private hospitals in the south of Spain and found TailorDoc offered a far better package,both financially and recovery. It included a 12 day stay in a four star hotel where you had two hours of physio a day. None of the other hospitals included physio. They were far more expensive and I found them not so helpful.
As soon as we spoke to Carlos he put us
at ease straight away and sent all the
relevant information we required before
we made a decision. He kept in constant contact and answered all our questions.
We soon realised what a nice man he
was. There was no pressure at all from
him, which made it easy to decide
to use TailorDoc. We agreed the date for the operation but due to a lung infection
we had to cancel and Carlos was so understanding and arranged an alternative date without any problem.
The Hospital in Valencia was very nice and no real problems with communication. My wife stayed the three nights with me in hospital which was a great help. Dr Kobi and the Anaesthetist came to see me before the
operation and both spoke excellent english. They really put me at ease, and were really nice.
The operation went really well and I was able to get out of bed the next day. The nurses were coming in regually with any pain medication when needed. Dr Kobi came round after the operation to explain all what had been done.
Physio started the day after the operation. He was a really nice guy and understood what you could do.
The third day Ray comes to collect you to take you to the hotel and takes you to the chemist for any medication you have been prescribed. I must say what a nice guy he is and was so helpfull in what ever you needed.
The hotel was excellent, both my wife and myself stayed, and I had two hours of physio a day at the hotel, which is a real game changer and gets your mobility back really quick. All the physios were really nice and a big thanks to them all.
We really did our research and found everyone we dealt with to do with TailorDoc very nice, polite, and helpful.

I would not hesitate in recommending TailorDoc, infact we did and one of our friends who also needed a hip operation had his two weeks later.

I was put in touch with TaylorDoc via a recommendation. I needed a hip replacement fairly urgently so I made contact with Carlos. After a couple of conversations my surgery was booked in at Valencia within 2 weeks.
We were met by Carlos at the hospital and he looked after everything from that point.
All the staff at the hospital were friendly and very professional. My surgeon Dr Corbi was superb and put me at ease.
After 2 days we had transport arranged to the hotel in Denia for 12 days rehab including physio and gym work all supervised by friendly fully trained staff. They were all superb.

Hotel was very good and provided exceptional food especially at lunchtime in the restaurant and their staff were delightful. The price for the whole package was realistic.

I chose Tailordoc after extensive research online. The complete package sounded perfect for me as I was looking for a total hip replacement. I contacted Carlos initially and he was very helpful. Gave me all the information I required and wasn't pushy trying to sell the package to me.
I had a number of questions and each time I contacted Carlos he responded very promptly, either via whatsapp or with a call. I checked out the credentials of the company and Dr. Corbi seperately and all was positive.
Once I had paid Carlos kept in touch right until I landed in Valencia. He picked me up at the airport and took me to the hospital and guided me through the admissions process.

The Physio and gym sessions were just as important as the operation itself. Anyone looking to have a hip or knee replacemenmt should certainly be sure they will get this as it speeds up your recovery. Within twelve days I was walking without crutches. The physio team were excellent and provided me with an exercise programme to continue with on my return to the UK.
Carlos has kept in touch throughout the whole process and was always available if there were any problems (there weren't, by the way). I would highly recommend the Tailordoc team from the perspective of the surgery, rehab and communication.All was first rate.

From start to finish the service we received was first class. Everything from tests to physiotherapy was well planned and perfectly delivered. My mum was the patient so I was extra careful about the package I chose for her and I wasn’t disappointed. I stayed with her throughout the process and saw first hand the exceptional treatment she received. Carlos was great at putting our minds at rest and was available at short notice to answer any questions. We leaned on him for advice at times but nothing was too much trouble. Using Tailordoc was definitely the best decision we’ve made.

My Name is Philip Millar and I live in Northern Ireland. Having been turn down by other providers because of underlying health issue who advise I needed a private hospital with a ICU, (which thankfully it turned out was not needed) .

I started my search to find another provider abroad as I was not prepared to wait for the NHS, Its over a year now and I am still waiting to see a consultant here never mind placed on a surgery list. I was also aware private hospital here do not have ICU's

To my suprisevI was the one turning them down, some providers where just to keen, not asking the right questions of me etc. Not so with Carlos, we developed a understand right away. He listen carefully to me and straight after are call followed up with a email detailing or conversation, asking me if he had missed anything before he went and consulted with the medical team. With a few days at most, he confirmed they would be happy to proceed on condition of local reports from my doctors and a few tests that they ask me to have done and share with them. We where now good to go, the surgery was booked to suit my diary for late October a few month away..no turning back now.
Going abroad is easy to say but as the time came closer I started to get nervous.. Was this a Scam, would Carlos be there to meet me, a feeling I later discovered when talking to other patients is not unusual. Days before I traveled I was sitting at 4am drinking tea and reading these very reviews for reassurance.

I need not have worried, I can fully endorce all the great things that are already in other reviews... The hospital was first class... Checking me in at midnight and then doing the blood test etc that they needed done until about 1am so that I could sleep on in the morning given the late hour of my traveling on what had been a long day traveling from my home in NI to Dublin and then valencia (NHS please take note). Only after all this and making sure everything was in order for both me and my wife did Carlos leave us at 1.30am

So if your thinking of going please rest assured you in the best of hands both in valencia and in the rehad unit... Dare I say it but it was fun, we had many laughs both with the staff and fellow patients... As I say to those who ask me, " No one wants to have TKR.. But if you have to do it there no better way" The one thing I recommend is making sure you have a good Physio lined up for your return home.. You so well looked after at the rehad unit it can be a bit daunting when home alone.
Me.... I putting my money where my mouth is and planning my next trip hopefully in a few months time to unfortunately have my other knee replaced, my wife still refers to out "Holiday in Denia" and is looking forward to going back?

A big thank you to Carlos and all the team involved in making this such a posive experance... I Might even see if a working group from the NHS wants to join me... They could learn a lot!
