We are extremely disappointed with Sutton Bank's handling of a Visa chargeback on behalf of a customer.

The carrier tracking showed the package as “Delivered, Door/Yard” at the customer's delivery address. Despite providing delivery evidence, the chargeback was decided in the customer's favour under the “Product Not Received” reason code.

This situation raises serious concerns about potential fraudulent claims. When a customer claims that an order was never received despite tracking confirming delivery, it is deeply frustrating for a legitimate business to suffer the financial loss.

We believe that such claims should be investigated thoroughly before a decision is made. Merchants should not be left unprotected when customers may be abusing the chargeback system to obtain refunds while their orders have been marked as delivered.

We are not suggesting that every non-delivery claim is fraudulent, but this case highlights how easily merchants can be left bearing the consequences of a disputed delivery.

We urge Sutton Bank to ensure a fairer and more transparent dispute resolution process that properly considers merchants' evidence and protects businesses against potentially fraudulent chargeback claims.

Sutton Bank is the evil villain backing both the infamous Vanilla gift cards and the notorious Cash App money transfer app. If you search Facebook for Sutton Bank, you will get an eye watering introduction into the seedy underbelly of the banking world. I had the misfortune of having Iowa Realty gift me a $100 vanilla gift card after closing. The back of the card says "issued by Sutton Bank". That card has been pure nightmare fuel. I'm blacklisted from calling the support number printed on the card, my emails to support seem to go to a black hole, I'm blocked from their Facebook messenger, and when I enter my card into the website their server blows up with a "system error" exception. There is no getting my money back, I can't even contact them. The only thing left to do is to file a complaint with federal and state regulatory agencies and submit a complaint to the BBB.

Iplayed the slot machines at Kroger in Lawrenceville, GA. The money was placed on a prize pay card issued by Sutton Bank. The card after using it about four times was marked as fraud. The company insured me that they will send me a new card , I did not receive a new card each time I’ve called I have not been able to get a replacement. I was informed that my name did not match the inquiry but it did it the first five times I called to inquire about the replacement. I do believe that the Sutton bank is holding my money hostage, I believe an employee changed my information for their own benefit. I am pissed at the fact that that I won put my harder money into a machine that I cannot enjoy my winnings.

It’s a good way to send money or buy things with, but I don’t like that fact that it would allow certain things to take money off the card even when it’s locked

Sutton Bank who is responsible for their third party adminstrator such as Cashapp thinks it is ok that it took cashapp over a year to pay. 15000.00 dispute causing a single mother homeless. SUTTON NEEDS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY YOU GOING TO TAKE ON THIRD PARTY ADMINISTRATOR THEN YOU RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR ACTIONS I HAVE REACHED OUT TO SUTTON WHO POINTS THE FINGER AT CASH APP SUTTON YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE TO MAKE SURE CASHAPP FOLLOWS THE EFTA GUIDELINES YOU ARE NO BETTER THEN THEY ARE YOU ARE THE ONES THAT HOLD THE CASHAPP BALANCES THEN YOU NEED TO FOLLOW FEDERAL GUIDELINES.

This is concerning their handling of their mydisbursementcard.com gift cards (Mastercard's). I get these quite often as my place of business has Ga lottery machines that pays out with them. Every single one I get (at least one a week usually) gets a hold put on it after I use it 2 or 3 times in a row. Then I have to wait another 7-10 business days to get my money. This is absolutely unacceptable. EVERY SINGLE ONE! I used to be able to just call and verify my transactions and they removed the hold, but for the last year, they claim to ONLY be able to send you a new card and deactivate your current card. To make matters worse, you cannot understand ANYONE at their customer service line!! This is infuriating and extremely inconvenient, especially when you live paycheck to paycheck and need that money for groceries and gas! It cannot possibly be legal for them to hold your money all the time! If they are to continue with this, they should be responsible for overnighting your new card, not making you wait 10 days!

Sutton Bank Plata-Pay stole $150 out of my account. No explanation, just shut my card down and took my money. I have contacted the necessary sources to receive my money back. DO NOT USE SUTTON BANK. THEY STEAL MONEY FROM CUSTOMERS. I WILL NEVER USE THIS BANK AGAIN!

Avoid this "bank" like its partner in crime Metabank, Sutton is just as fraudulent as just as much of dead end too. Likewise Sutton is partly involved in how useless prepaid cards at Walgreens are.

A $500 Vanilla Visa gift card was purchased in December 2021 for a staff member as a Christmas bonus. There is no expiration date on the card, and so she didn't feel she had to use it right away. Today, she went to use it and found out it had been hacked in February. It was next to impossible to get in touch with a live customer service representative. She was put into an hour-long phone loop and then tried going online. There is just told her to call the number she had already called. She finally spoke to a representative who told her that because the charges had occurred the month prior, she could no longer refute them. This is absolutely unacceptable. Do not use Vanilla Gift Cards or Sutton Bank.

I purchased a Vanilla gift card for $75.00 for my daughter Monday, December 23rd for a Christmas gift. I gave it to her Christmas. She tried using it the next day and the card was invalid. She then tried using it on Amazon card was declined. I called the number on back of card I was told by their representative I will I have to wait up to 15 business days to get a new card. I read comments on other websites other people get these same cards from Vanilla and they do not work and they lose their money. I am a single mom and this $75 took me a whole day of working overtime to come up with this money. Now my daughter has no Christmas gift. I tried talking to a supervisor see could we speed it up the process so she would have to wait so long for a replacement card. I was hung up on by a very rude gentleman. I just want what I paid for. Sutton Bank has ruined my daughters Christmas. I do not have another $75 to give her. This is a terrible company. Make sure you are not buying a Vanilla Visa Cards you can get ripped off. Sutton bank owns this company and offered no help to me and they won't for you either.
