As a Stripe user since 2020 and having processed over 4,000 transactions as a small business, I recently had my account closed on the 19th of August, 2024, due to the following reason:
"Based on the information available to us, including documents submitted via your dashboard to appeal our decision, we’ve determined that your account still presents an unacceptable level of riskAs a result, any funds in your account balance, and any pending charges, will be reversed within 5 days of the account closure date. If a balance still remains in your account after all reversals have been processed, it will not be made available to you, in accordance with Section 5.6 of Service Terms for Stripe Payments. Please refer to your Dashboard for a list of the charges to be refunded "
Here's a brief description of my business: I am the sole owner of a small business my domain is zzgadgets.com, with approximately $2,000+ in monthly recurring revenue (MRR).
Please help resolve this issue, we use stripe for many years (store name zzoutlet - acct_1MOcowIT5sFLJOSK) and we have more than 2000$ on balance and we can not withdraw money and nobody said us when we can do it.

Yesterday i got sale on my stripe account after that they close my account !!
But there something not clear ! The sale is from credit card expired on 11/2030 ! This mean this card have more than 5 years to expired and that not legal ! All credit cards expired in two- five years Max !
Also i have truck my store visitors to check it but no visitors from the country of this sale !
Do you think Stripe make this transaction to close our accounts ?!

I have been going round and round in circles with stripe support. I have sent them endless emails of my issue, sent them screenshots and even spoken to 3 different people on their support chat. Every response I am told it is being shared with the specialist team, only for weeks later to be asked what my issue is. I have never dealt with such an incompetent support service. When I first joined stripe 1 year ago, I was assigned a very helpful representative. Now I am left with weeks long emails with zero resolutions. Very disappointment.
Terrible Service and Unreliable Verification Process
We have been stuck in an endless loop with Stripe's verification process, and no one seems to be able to explain why. Despite our repeated efforts and immense patience, our account has been paused for over a month with no clear reason or resolution in sight.
The customer service is appalling—how can it take this long just to verify some basic information? We are at the point of considering closing our account because Stripe’s service is shockingly slow and unreliable. As a business, we need a dependable payment portal on our site, and Stripe has proven to be anything but.
Unless this matter is resolved urgently, we will be forced to look elsewhere. If you're considering Stripe for your payment solutions, be prepared for a long and frustrating experience.

Até então era bom usar mas parece que agora está se tornando um esquema de Scam ! Bloqueam contas sem motivos claros e ainda prendem o seu dinheiro de sacrifício.
Eles bloquearam a minha conta para não receber pagamentos , tento submeter documentos e eles recusam a pior parte é que disseram que fariam o reembolso do meu saldo de 241$ mas já se passou um mês e eles simplesmente não querem devolver o dinheiro!
Isso para mim é Scam e merecem ser processados! Vocês não têm o direito de roubar dinheiro de alguém que foi difícil conquistar. Espero que vocês sejam processados.

AVOID! They have refunded hundreds of our customers resulting in thousands of loss with zero explanation other than “we are closing your account” and there is virtually no one to speak to, you have to wait for an email. Avoid them! If I could go back we wouldn’t use such an unreliable payment provider.

The impact of this unethical behavior has been significant. It has caused cash flow problems, affecting my ability to pay vendors and manage day-to-day expenses. This kind of treatment is not only unprofessional but also detrimental to small businesses that depend on reliable payment processing.
I strongly advise anyone considering this payment processor to look elsewhere. Their practices are deceptive, and their handling of legitimate transactions is anything but trustworthy. Save yourself the headache and choose a provider that values integrity and transparency.

It was just awful service.
With all the requested documents that prove the clean and legal business of our company - stripe just closed the account without any warning or communication.
Stripe onboard us normally and allow us to start processing. We spend a lot of time and resources on product integrations (thousands of euros in total).
Then, without any reason, our account was blocked.
Then the customer support just automatically answers we don't care about your company anymore and "f.ck off" in general.
Zero business culture.
I did not expect such rude behavior and nonsense reasons for disconnection from the service.
I was a big fan of Stripe and recommended it a lot for other businesses. Just shocked.
From now on, I never advise anybody to use it.

For a significant period, our funds have been held in our account without any updates or resolutions from Stripe’s support team, despite multiple attempts to contact them. This situation has severely disrupted our business operations and caused financial strain.
We have already filed an FCA report regarding this matter, hoping it would expedite the process, but we still haven’t received any communication from Stripe. It is crucial for us to receive our funds promptly, and the ongoing silence from Stripe is unacceptable.
Due to this unresolved issue, we are now considering taking legal action to protect our business interests. We urge Stripe to address this matter immediately, as their current approach is causing us considerable distress.
We hope that this review serves as a warning to other businesses considering using Stripe. If you value timely communication and reliable access to your funds, you might want to think twice before choosing Stripe.

As a small business using stripe was our worst mistake!! we are a property management company dealing with short stay company lets! once we starting getting bookings in the region of £1000 payments they put our account on hold and kept our money claiming our account was high risk!
Our last transaction came from the council using our property for vulnerable people in need of temporary accommodation!!
They kept this money and shut our account down!!
As a small business this has brought us on the brink of bankruptcy!
They have had our money (over 5k) for over 8 months now and still not returned OUR money!! THIS IS THEFT!!
We had wrote a formal complaint which will be going to the financial ombudsman soon! We will also be looking at taking legal action to claim compensation on our losses due to them taking OUR money!

Oltre al denaro che mi anno rubato dal conto mi devono fare un risarcimento da oltre 1 milione di Euro. i own company called Dax sports limited and this company provided payment gateway to our merchant, within 2 transactions they blocked our services on 15th february and kept saying they will start refunding to customers after 5 days from the rejection date.
funny thing is on 15th february 2024 two different customers made payments of £9 and £4493, and this stripe already refunded £9 but still haven't refunded £4493 to customer nor have they sent funds to our bank account.
first of all this an american company who doesn't really follow any uk guidelines, secondly the moment they blcok your account you can't choose option to call back, cant chat with them, we just have to fill up the form on website and they respond which is rarely. i would have sent thousand messages and only one reply i had received that i should wait 120 days from the date of rejection which is already over but still cant withdraw funds and cant even issue refund to customer.
i dont know how is this possible last reply from this company's employee name Puneeth was on 16th april. An american company and customer service employees are from India, who dont even care about their customers. i got each evidence of how many times i have sent messages through website and got only confirmation that we have received your message and we will get back you
I HOPE UK’s financial authorities reads review on Trustpilot and contacts each and every customer in the uk and ask them their expertise with stripe and chucks away this fraud American company from the uk.

Stripe is holding my funds since 15th february, if it was bank we could get interest for this.

Fraud company
They have suspended our Stripe account without giving any clarification, just said that it has risk associated.
On top of that they have been holding our funds from last 3.5 months without any reason.
We have already provided services to our client and our client is happy. But neither Stripe is paying that money to us nor refunding to the client.
Looks like they have found a good way to scam money from businesses.
