Agree with everything that has been written. Awful company 25% reserve placed they are holding 29k of our money, never in all the years of working with them have any disputes or refunds come anywhere near 29k. Completely ridiculous. These orders have been delivered and completed and they are holding the money putting strain on our cash flow. Will be closing the account ASAP.

We had 19 chargebacks from a total of 8254 customers. Stripe decided to keep back 25% of our total gainings due to 19 chargebacks. We worked with stripe for 3 years now and never had any issues. Its impossible to reach the support they just repeat their policies to you without answering your questions. Im looking for another payment gateway now. Does anyone have recommendations?

Service client incompétent et inexistent
STRIPE has just let us down, badly. We did nothing wrong.
My retail business received two different orders (and payments) via STRIPE, six months apart, from the same customer.
No issue with the earlier one.
The later one we shipped immediately, using ROYAL MAIL SIGNED FOR. This time, the shipping address specified via STRIPE, was different from the billing address (the two addresses were the same for the first order, and the same as the current billing address). Royal Mail confirmed delivery and we have what appears to be the customer's signature on the electronic confirmation of delivery.
A few weeks later, we hear from STRIPE saying the customer claims not to recollect the transaction. So we provided proof, including the IP address used for the order (STRIPE already had that), the invoice, the proof of delivery, that it was a repeat customer, the photograph we routinely take of the packet contents and box before we seal it, etc. Note this customer was happy to accept the packet.
Next thing, we hear from STRIPE that our proof has been rejected, and they not only take back the money but additionally a £15 charge from the customer's bank and their own charge.
We phoned up and STRIPE Customer Services conceded we had done nothing wrong, had not failed to do anything we should have, but washed their hands of any responsibility, chance of appeal, help etc.
We are now faced with using Moneyclaim Online against this bold thief, who is not picking up the phone.
But STRIPE was totally useless and did nothing.
Unless STRIPE fix this immediately with us, we are cancelling all outstanding STRIPE-funded customer orders and removing the STRIPE payment option from our website in our monthly update.

Mon compte a été bloqué, je représente une association de musique et on organise des concours qui reversent des prix, des diplômes aux musiciens après évaluation d'un jury international. Cela existe depuis des siècles...Ils nous ont bloqué pour le prétexte suivant "nous ne sommes pas en mesure d'accepter des paiements pour des paris, dont les sports virtuels et les jeux de hasard". Or c'est tout le contraire que nous sommes...En 2018 ils ont étés très contents et n'avait rien signalé alors qu'on avait eu environ 200 candidats. Donc...j'ai fait appel mais qu'importe la décision je vais essayer de trouver une plateforme plus sérieuse ou revenir au bon vieux virement bancaire.

Never Use Stripe!
We recently had a customer purchase a service from us for £8000. The customer turned out to be a fraud and went to Stripe and said they never authorized the transaction. Stripe handed the money back to the customer without contacting us or investigating. Now we are £8000 in the hole thanks to Stripe!
Please be aware your money is at risk with these jokers
Please be very cautious when you sign up with stripe, if like me it could end up being a very expensive unpleasant experience. After accepting our company ( we have been trading successfully for over 15 years ) they processed payments ( thousands of pounds ) then for some undisclosed reason they decided our company was high risk and proceeded to refund all successful payments even though we had provided tracking details to prove the orders had been delivered ! To top it off they still want me to cover the card transaction costs ! It’s literally like being mugged ! And the worst experience I have ever had with any bank / payment processing company in 25 years of working in the online retail industry.
Please avoid and go with reputable company that actually have support on the end of the phone and who won’t rob you blind !

I will write what we felt honestly. Stripe will close your account overnight on pretext known to their robots only. When you will ask them to tell you the resson, they even do not have the professional decency to reply and ignore you. Their behaviour is definitely not professional but more of an authority which consider itself above everything. They can do whatever they like without feeling the need to tell you or reply to you. I will never recommend this dictatorial service provider. I am amazed how are they allowed to operate by financial conduct authority. If someone thinks I have anything personal, just have a look at their 89% bad review. Their reputation is self evident.

They will charge you for the payment amount and extra 15€ fees for each suspected or fraudulent payment.
They will close your account. With no warning. With no justification. So you will not be able to pay your colleagues or your suppliers.
I would everyone to make a complaint to the Financial Conduct Authority and either get the company closed down or change the rules to give greater protection to the small businesses which rely upon payment providers and gateways.

Yesterday morning I reached out to Stripe support and requested a callback. I received a call about 5 minutes later from one of your support specialists Freddie. This was my first time reaching out to Stripe support and I was blown away by the professionalism as well the knowledge that Freddie displayed. I'm a new Stripe user and not too familiar with some of the features so I had a lot of questions. Freddie spent about an hour with me walking me step by step to ensure I had a thoro understanding of his answers and made sure every one of my questions was answered.
He was extremely helpful. Not only was he able to address my questions and concerns he also sent me screenshots to share with my team if we ever run across that same issue. I am a lead on my support team so I am experienced in providing feedback to my team members, grading calls, pace, tone, building rapport, and all the working pieces of what makes an excellent call. Freddie would have gotten a 100% on that call with nothing but positive feedback.
If Freddie is any indication of the outstanding level of support that we will be receiving from Stripe I look forward to reaching out for help again. Terrible customer service, just avoid unless you want to be spoken down to and told to get your developer to help when its clearly a stripe API error
Worst customer service I've ever dealt with
Customer service is incompetant to the degree I'm starting to wonder if it's some kind of practical joke... Am I on a TV show? Just doesn't seem plausible.
Exposes small business to risk
Our business makes bespoke accessories to order online. In one instance a customer had incorrectly disputed the charge with their bank without first contacting us. Stripe without question deducted the payment from our account and then proceeded to inform us there was nothing they could do, absolving themselves from any responsibility all the while taking sales commission from us.
I hope in the near future these faceless tech companies will be disrupted by services that actually care about their consumers instead of mindlessly prioritising scale.
