I have never in my life have left a bad review for a small business because I hope to own one in the future. BUT I can not believe how I completely unprofessional this is. I have not only known this girl since I was kid but I wanted to help out all small businesses I can with our wedding. Thinking this would be great to contact someone I know. Well that was unfortunately not the case. I went and first reached out to Sabrina Lemery Soil and clay for flowers for our wedding. I first reached out to her in march 2023 to get flowers for our wedding in august 2023. Everything was going great at first everything was great we went over some ideas and flowers. Then I didn’t hear from her till almost the end of April. I had to reach out again because I did not hear from her for almost a month. She finally reached back out to me we set up a phone consult go over EVERYTHING all the way down to doing something special in my flowers for my deceased brother. I was even going to buy this “special wrap” she hyped up because it would be another small buisness to support. After the phone call I sent her a very detailed email on every flower, color, bouquet for me my girls the tables the ones for the ceremony the boutonnière for the guys the flowers for certain family members. I did not hear anything from her again for a couple weeks then get a message “sorry I’m busy because of Mother’s Day I’ll get back to you after” me stupidly thinking okay no worries we got everything planned she must just need time to write up the quote. But that was NOT the case. I get an email LESS than 3 months till my wedding to get an email that someone JUST recheat out to her with a better opportunity and I’m assuming more money. I am beyond disgusted. Don’t tell someone who is extremely steamed out “I want to take all the stress off of you” then spend months making me think everything is great I’m getting flowers to screw me over last minute creating so much stress now I want to call off my wedding. And on top of her doing this to me she blocked me from her instagram page for no reason what’s so ever. So thank SOIL AND CLAY for royally screw my fiancé and I over. For anyone who knows her do not waste your time or money.
I read the review and was skeptical about ordering a live plant online. I am so glad I ignored the negativity! I ordered a ponytail palm and it is GORGEOUS! It was very very root bound but I expected that. I had a beautiful big blue pot ready. Now it's sitting on a plant stand and it looks very happy. As far as their customer service, I'm happy with that too. I wrote wondering when I could expect my new addition and they got back to me within 24 hours. Their prices are a little spendy but it was worth it to me because I have a new addition to my plant family. :)
RUN AWAY. My initial order showed up dead, they had a glimmer of customer service and offered me credit and I bought a new batch of plants. Everything shipped but the delivery was missing a plant and pot. After sending several emails I was ultimately ghosted, still no plant. Absolutely terrible, find any other plant website to go with.
Never received plants, can't get anyone to answer email, phone either. I was trying to be understanding but I've waited over a month. You can't tell me that from Florida to Minnesota takes over a month to ship. I will be going to my bank and having them contact them for repayment
Please save yourself a headache and don't order from here! Horrible customer service my plants came almost dead I asked for a refund and they only gave me store credit and I ordered again and those plants were even worst. I would just purchase from lively root or anywhere but here.
The plants are sick/ripped and they are expensive. Customer service is so defensive. I bought a monstera and it cost me a lot for an XL size. 5 of the biggest leaves were shredded, and the other small ones were all sickly/rotting/crisped/ripped. When I first reached out to customer service they told me to wait for it to “perk up”.
A month later when they (obviously) didn’t perk up, they tell me that all their plants are like this and that it’s normal without any recognition of the issues despite me sending clear and numerous pictures. O btw they also tried to dismiss the rips when they first arrived as being shipped in winter even though the ripped parts have dried and scarred over long ago.
Overall, extremely overpriced for sickly and torn plants and awful customer service.
I still have not received my plants! I want my money back. No one responds... I suggest flood their social media to warn other which I will do.
I ordered 2 plants that arrived broken, I was promised a replacement shipment which has not arrived, I contacted customer service 3 times with no response at all.
I would say 1 star is too much. no customer service at all.
In the meantime I have received replacement plants. I still would say that customer service needs much improvement.

First, the plants are much smaller than expected, so the so-called “sales” are really just the normal price (if not higher given the low quality). Second, every plant arrived with some kind of damage and all were unhealthy. From brown leaves, to old tears, to bugs of all kinds. On arrival, upon opening and inspecting the plants, I was so disappointed and immediately regretted buying so many plants from this store. Customer service is terrible - basically non-existent, and come off rude and defensive.
I had such a positive experience! I ordered a pony tail palm tree, it came quicker then I expected and it is so cute! Will definitely use them again!!
They have great sales all the time. The plants i got were in good condition- would order again.
I ordered 4 plants and 2 of them ended up with curling leaves and dying. When I asked for help, they responded to my photos attached clearly showing curled leaves with rec to water more and that there was nothing wrong with the plants. Upon further research, these plants were infected. I treated both with Neem oil spray - 1 of them survived, not great while the other one did not.
Poor customer service, poor knowledge base about their own products.
Two of my plants came with fungus gnats. I'm currently dealing with these annoying fungus gbata and am so stressed out that they will spread to my other plants. This is what I get for purchasing cheaper plants. Sigh. I've spent over $50 on fungus gnat treatment stuff. I've emailed customer service and they just told me that they are treated but not always all killed. So basically now I have to deal with it. Annoyed and frustrated!
If I could give this company zero stars I would. Oh, how I wish I checked with TrustPilot reviews before ordering from them. In sum, every negative review already written by others here about their horrendous customer service, dead and dying plants, etc. are correct. Further, the responses on this site from the company are laughable; they feign innocence because they're a "small company." I know of no other small companies that ignore, then scold customers for contacting them about a problem—and then never offer to remedy the problem.
Do NOT buy a thing from this company, which will hopefully be out of business soon, given how they treat customers. Seriously, please read all the negative reviews here. They are TRUE. Save your money. This company is horrific.

This company has ignored numerous emails I have sent in regards to my order that arrived damaged. There was multiple broken stems, brown decay, holes in nearly all of the leaves, along with pests that flew out of the box upon opening. They provided a replacement of my order and it arrived in even worse repair than the first! Talking with their customer service team has been an absolute nightmare and I would encourage you to read through the poor reviews to get a better idea on how they do business. Your concerns will not be heard, your emails will be ignored, and they will take your money without any regard to you or your purchase!
Never Received My Order or Any Response: I ordered during the buy 3 get one free - many many weeks ago and have received nothing. I've emailed twice - once to request an update and once to please cancel my order and refund my money. No response.
I really feel sorry for all the people who’ve had bad experiences at soil and clay. Thankfully, I’ve never had a bad experience. Their plants are incredible! My favorite is the snake plant! I can’t wait to keep adding to my plant collection. Highly recommend Soil & Clay.
I have a 3 legged wonder kitten named Emily. I found her at 4 weeks old ran over on the highway and rushed her to closest vet in the little Texas town we driving through. It was traumatic, for her and for us. What does this have to do with my plants???? Emily is my everything!!! I was at Lowe’s buying “elephant bush,” a succulent which google stated was safe for cats. I had it in my hand and by some miracle a kind lady over heard me talking about my cat, looked at the pant in my hand said, “ do you know that succulent is highly toxic to cats??????” Lowe’s only had the slang name and the not the scientific name so I had no way to know I wasn’t buying what I intended to as they looked very similar to the picture online. Yes. Lowe’s is less expensive but I figure I am paying to keep my Emily safe so the sell price has two things included: the plant itself and peace of mind!!! Will definitely buy from here again.
