★★★★☆ Great one-to-one lessons that have really inspired my son
My 10-year-old son has been having weekly online one-to-one Unreal Engine game design lessons, and he genuinely looks forward to them every week. His tutor is engaging, patient and does an excellent job of nurturing his interest in contemporary game development. The lessons are well-paced, tailored to his ability, and have really helped build both his confidence and enthusiasm for learning.
The only reason I haven’t given five stars is that on the occasions when a tutor has had to cancel at short notice, Software Academy hasn’t automatically arranged a catch-up lesson. We’ve always had to chase this ourselves, which could be handled more proactively.
That aside, we’ve had a very positive experience and would thoroughly recommend Software Academy to any parent looking to encourage a child’s interest in game design and coding.

We pride ourselves on delivering a five-star experience to every family, and I'm sorry we fell short on this occasion.
Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused. I will be initiating an internal investigation to understand how this happened and to ensure it does not happen again—either to your family or to any of our other customers.

I really enjoyed the lessons with my tutor Joseph Slade.
I thoroughly enjoyed my lessons with my tutor, Joseph Slade. Each session was filled with engaging discussions and hands-on activities that greatly enhanced my understanding of programming concepts. Together, we worked on an exciting project—a shooter game—utilizing Python, which allowed me to apply what I learned in a practical setting. Joseph is an exceptional teacher; he not only broke down complex theories into easily digestible parts but also inspired me to push my boundaries and tackle even more ambitious Python projects. His encouragement has been invaluable, and I am grateful for the knowledge and skills I have gained under his guidance!

Software Academy is good 👍🏾
My son joined Software Academy in September 2025. He enjoys the lessons and he is learning a lot. We are happy that at the end of the 3 years he will receive a recognised accreditation. At the end of each term I receive a report about how my child is getting on and if there is anything he needs to improve on. Getting feedback is something I value
