All I had to do was submit a few details, while they did all the leg work and diligently followed up with HMRC time and again to receive the latest update on my case.

No updates
Not organised and no proper communication. I reached out to them for self assessment and they asked for documents which I provided.
Everytime I asked for an update, I got an answer - 'My team would update you by EOD' as an standard answer and there was no update.
Wasted my 2 months following up with Deb and his Smartaware team and wouldn't suggest anyone who wants to avail their services

Extremely Unprofessional and Unresponsive Service – A Deeply Frustrating Experience with SmartAWARE
I would give 0 star. I am writing this as an absolute last resort, after exhausting every possible avenue to get a response or resolution from SmartAWARE. My experience with them has been nothing short of deeply frustrating, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable.
From the very beginning, the handling of my tax return was chaotic. Different members of their team provided completely contradictory advice on my case, leaving me confused and with zero confidence in their competence. Instead of resolving this confusion, they only made matters worse.
When I attempted to question and challenge these inconsistencies—as any reasonable client would—their response was to simply stop engaging. My calls went unanswered, my concerns ignored. Being effectively shut out while dealing with something as important as a tax matter is incredibly frustrating and frankly irresponsible.
What is even more disappointing is that Debganshu, who claims to run the company, and Jyothi both stopped responding entirely. This was after repeatedly assuring me that they would sort everything out. Those promises turned out to be completely meaningless, as there has been absolutely zero follow-up or communication since. The silence and lack of accountability have been beyond infuriating.
I have never encountered such a complete breakdown in professionalism, communication, and basic client care. The level of service provided is shockingly poor.
I strongly urge anyone considering SmartAWARE for tax returns, self-assessments, or HMRC penalty challenges to think twice. Based on my experience, this is a company that cannot be relied upon when it matters most.
