Übernahme des Auto in Marseille unkompliziert, Auto in tadellosem Zustand, fehlerhafte Zusatzbelastung für nicht bestellte Versicherung wurde nach der Rücknahme kulant und rasch zurückgezahlt. Man sollte allerdings aufmerksam sein und den ausgestellten Beleg überprüfen, bevor man das Auto übernimmt.

Wir hatten zum 2. mal einen Transporter für den Umzug gemietet (Bad. Bahnhof). Beides mal top Autos in sehr gutem Zustand, einfache und schnelle Abholung und Rückgabe. Freundliches Personal. Preis/Leistung beides mal besser als andere Anbieter in der Region BS/BL

Fahrzeug vorab in Marrakech für 2 Wochen ein Fahrzeug angemietet, soweit alles ok.Fahrzeug sehr gut, neu, sauber. Annahme- und Abgabeprozess sehr einfach. Sehr sehr störend jedoch ist, dass SIXT, im Gegenteil zu allen anderen Anbietern, nur begrenzte Meilen anbietet. Auf Nachfrage beim Stationsverantwortlichen hiess es, das sei halt so‘. Das selbe geschah letztes Jahr in Liverpool. Wollte SIXT nochmals eine Chance geben. Da war es leider, kann SIXT so nicht mehr berücksichtigen.
Abrechnung der Schäden übertrieben
Die Abrechnung der Schäden ist besonders unredlich. Ich habe einen Kratzer an einer Felge verursacht und mir wurde das Vierfache (4!) des Preises berechnet, den eine offizielle BMW-Werkstatt für dieselbe Reparatur verlangt hätte. Außerdem wurden mir Standgebühren berechnet, angeblich für die Reparatur, obwohl die anderen Felgen ebenfalls zerkratzt waren, als ich das Auto zurückbekam. Offensichtlich hatte Sixt nicht vor, die Reparatur unmittelbar nach der Rückgabe der Schlüssel durchzuführen. Das drohende und unnachgiebige Verhalten der Kundendienstabteilung ist bedauerlich. Sicher, Sixt bietet schöne Autos an, aber bei der geringsten Gelegenheit versuchen sie, überhöhte Preise zu verlangen und sind in Bezug auf die Kosten unehrlich.
Ich vertraue Sixt nicht mehr.

Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist gut.
Ich habe mehrmals ein Auto am Flughafen in Budapest gebucht. Einmal stand das gewünschte und telefonisch bestätigte Auto nicht zur Verfügung, dafür wurde jedoch ein Fahrzeug einer höheren Klasse bereitgestellt.
Ich habe immer mit Versicherung gebucht und so kein Problem bei der Rückgabe gehabt. Versicherungsumfang ist Top.

Ooh! Where do I start! This company in Basel is staffed with smooth talking staff trying to talk you into taking out their own insurance - even though you’ve paid for it with the cost of the rental 6 months prior. We received a Return the car email prior to returning the car, it said the company can refuel the car if we’re not able to - we also knew we’d have to pay CHF 0.41 per kilometre for every kilometre over the agreed 2000km. So - as there wasn’t a petrol station visible near the drop off car park, we knew we’d have to pay for refuelling 5/8 of a tank and the extra 678km used. I wanted it all sorted before we flew home - mmm! The same “smooth talking” staff member said he would sort the refuelling out cheaply and when I went to show him the photo of the kilometres recorded on the car, he dismissed me and said it was not needed. I asked if there would be anything extra to pay - he said no and started complimenting us on looking younger after our holiday - heehee! What a charmer he was. Then once we were home, 2 payments were asked for with our bank, the smaller one went through - I assumed for fuel - but still don’t know for definite. The second was £443 - I emailed them, they repeatedly said it was for fuel and extra kilometres used - without specifying exactly. Then after another emailing session, they said because they’d had to refuel the car, it had caused the premium location fee to rise and as its percentage based on the rest of the rental agreement - then the cost went up and thank you for understanding. To make this company better for the future? I would say this: They haven’t got a clue and really need to organise a fairer system letting people know exactly what they’re paying for before Sixt does the following: “yes, we’ve got your bank details and when you’ve returned the car, we’ll just take what we want without any real explanation and justification for doing so”. They asked for feedback and they got it - but I doubt it will change anything - just that we will never use them again. Although, is there a decent car rental company out there? I rented a car from Sixt in Geneva for 14 days, and after just 4 days, I experienced a flat tire while driving through the Aosta region. What unfolded afterward was an absolute nightmare.
Roadside assistance took over six hours to respond, leaving me stranded on a mountain road with no spare tire. When the vehicle was finally towed, their chosen mechanic couldn’t repair the tire because he wasn’t an authorized Renault service provider — something Sixt should have known in advance.
I was left without a replacement vehicle for eight full days, forced to rent another car at my own expense from a local agency in Aosta just to continue my trip. I also had to arrange and pay for my own transportation back to Geneva.
Throughout the ordeal, Sixt’s roadside assistance and customer service were dismissive and unhelpful. I spent more than 10 hours on the phone, being transferred endlessly between agents, each insisting my situation wasn’t their responsibility.
When I returned the car to Geneva, the staff assured me that Sixt would reimburse my extra costs once I submitted the receipts. It’s now been over four weeks, and they’ve since denied any reimbursement.
This experience showed me that while Sixt might be fine when everything runs smoothly, their customer support completely collapses the moment anything goes wrong. If you’re renting from Sixt, be prepared to handle problems completely on your own. Buyer beware.
An absolute nightmare of a company to…
An absolute nightmare of a company to deal with. We rented a car with them in early September and they claimed there were damages to the windshield after returning the vehicle. It's now been multiple emails and unsuccessful phone calls to their damage customer service line to try to get a repair estimate from a garage to submit to my personal insurance. They charged me almost $2,000 CAD to fix a chip on the windshield, when the car itself had numerous scratches and dings on it during pick up already. If they claimed that this amount was used to fix the repair, then they should have no issues sending me this repair document, but that's not the case here. They are charging customers unethically for damages and pocketing the money while not actually repairing the vehicle. They never respond to emails and give you case numbers that no one actually follows up with, and is giving false information on their damage hot lines hours so you can never reach them. You post a review and they ask you to reach out to a specific email so they can investigate but nobody actually gets back to you. Please be cautious when renting from this scam company and be aware of the lawsuit against them where the plaintiffs won because they were improperly charging customers vehicle damage related charges. This experience has been extremely frustrating with the whole back fourth between live chat agents and myself as you cannot ever actually speak to anyone. I will be filing a complaint to SECO and the Ombudsmen because this is truly ridiculous. If you're thinking of renting from this company, don't just walk away from them, RUN!

A las 7:30 he entregado ya las llaves en la oficina .
Por la tarde noche, del mismo día me llega el contrato de alquiler finiquitado , y con estupor veo que la hora de entrega es 16:48 , que el coche hizo casi 100 km demás y en la factura aparece un recargo de 100 francos suizos aproximadamente!
A esa hora yo ya estaba en mi casa en España, ya que el vuelo era por la mañana, temprano!
Mandé varios correos a la compañía para corregir la factura, y nada , hasta ahora no han echo nada de nada!
Ha pasado casi una semana hasta que me ingresaron lo indebidamente cobrado ( por ello le cambio de una estrella a dos ) . La factura final corregida todavía la estoy esperando .....

I booked a car with Sixt at the airport, expecting a smooth and premium experience, especially since we were on a short 3-day trip with children and elderly family members. Unfortunately, the experience was far from what I had hoped for.
Our flight was delayed by only 30 minutes, but after arriving at the Sixt terminal, we had to wait more than an hour before receiving the car. The car was expected to be ready at 2:30 PM, but we only got it around 4:30 PM. That’s two hours lost on a very tight schedule.
After some negotiation, we accepted the offer to add an additional driver, but even then, the process dragged on and it still took over an hour to finalize everything. To make matters worse, during the paperwork we were charged an unexpected additional amount, despite having already paid in advance. The reason for this extra charge was unclear and very frustrating.
This was my first time booking with Sixt, and I was hoping for the premium service they advertise. Unfortunately, it felt no different from cheaper rental agencies I had used in the past. Because of these delays, we had to cancel our planned visit to the Rhine Falls on our first day, which was one of the highlights of our short trip.
Overall, this was a disappointing experience, and I will think twice before choosing Sixt again.

We had missed our connection and were…
We had missed our connection and were forced to stay an additional day in Zurich. We rented a Honda CRV for one day, and our initial invoice was 550 Swiss Francs, which we considered extremely expensive. However, we wanted to take the opportunity to visit my husband's aunt.
The representative assured us that because we paid such a high amount, unlimited mileage and gas would be included in the price, to which we agreed. We picked up the car at 11:00 AM and returned it the same evening around 8:00 PM.
The following day we had a 7:00 AM flight. A few days later, I discovered a $1,500 charge on my account and another $860 pending charge. We received invoices charging us for mileage, gas, and numerous additional fees - completely contradicting the original agreement.
Most shocking of all, they sent us an invoice for pending damage charges to the vehicle. Upon careful review of all attachments and pictures, I discovered the damages shown were to an AUDI - not the Honda CRV that we had rented!
I am still dealing with Sixt to honor their original agreement and return my money. I have filed an appeal with the Swiss agency regarding this fraudulent activity, as it is unacceptable for airport car rental agencies to take advantage of international travelers.
This behavior is not acceptable under any circumstances.
Avoid!

Modus operandi à dénoncer
Deux familles, deux locations, et deux expériences négatives similaires. Malgré l'assurance total Sixt essai de faire payer des griffures qui n'existaient pas (photos au retour en témoignage). Ce modus operandi de Sixt serait à dénoncer.
Voiture non demandée imposee
Nous avons réservé via booking une voiture du 4 au 7 août à Figari Aéroport. Booking nous a dirigé sur le site de sixt qui nous a permis de réserver et payer un véhicule à essence.
À Figari, on nous indique à la prise du véhicule qu il n y a que des électriques et pas de véhicule à essence. Aucun remboursement possible car on a volontairement payé plus cher pour obtenir un véhicule à essence.
On ne nous a jamais indiqué qu il n y avait pas de véhicule à essence sur le net.
On a galéré dans les montagnes corse (vive l électrique) et ne penser qu à chercher des lieux et des itinéraires pour ne pas tomber en rade ( bravo l arnaque de l électrique)
Bref je le remettrai pas les pieds dans cette agence de loc.
Was taken advantage of being a single female with kids
As a single mother of 12-year-old twins (one of whom is a registered person of determination) traveling alone with my daughters after a long flight from Dubai, I was informed I would be paying over 40% more than if I had booked on the French side. Upon attempting to book on the French side, I became confused by the rates and currencies. Clearly stressed, I did not fully understand the booking process.
The representative suggested an upgrade, which I understood to be at no additional cost. Under this impression, I agreed. However, I later discovered I was charged an additional 665 CHF. Given my personal situation, I cannot afford this expense. I would have kept my original booking had I known the upgrade would cost extra. I did not need a larger car.
Having used Sixt in the past in Glasgow and received upgrades at no extra charge, I am confused and distressed by this experience. I have sent emails to Sixt, and submitted my experience in the feedback but heard absolutely NOTHING back from them. Terrible customer service
Misleading Upgrade Charges – No Transparency, No Resolution
We booked a BMW X5 through Sixt at Geneva Airport. When we arrived after a long flight, we were informed the vehicle was unavailable and were offered a BMW X7 for “CHF 453.11 more.” This was presented in a way that strongly implied a one-time upgrade fee — no one clearly stated that it was CHF 453.11 per day.
We later found out that this daily charge was multiplied across the 11-day rental, adding up to CHF 4,984.21 just for the upgrade, bringing our total to CHF 6,884.25. That amount is more than many people’s monthly salaries, and it was charged without any detailed explanation or consent at the time of signing.
We raised a complaint afterward. A Sixt representative contacted us by phone, and we submitted all relevant documents — including the receipt, which clearly shows the initials of the staff member who handled the transaction. Despite all of this, it has now been over a month with no resolution, no refund, and no update.
Can someone from Sixt please explain what the “Choice Upgrade” means, especially when the full 11-day rental (1 week + 4 extra days) was already calculated in the original quote?
This experience has been extremely disappointing. It’s not what we expected from a company that claims to offer premium service. We no longer trust this branch and will not be renting from Sixt again.

They will fleece you for minor damage that you did not cause. Don’t trust their reviews on their website. Read this page and Reddit where people all share similar stories of them claiming the exact same damage
Mehrfache falsche Abbuchungen ohne Leistung – enttäuschender Kundenservice
Meine Erfahrung mit Sixt war enttäuschend:
Innerhalb von drei Tagen wurden mir drei Mal jeweils rund 1.000 CHF vom Konto abgebucht – ohne dass mir je ein Fahrzeug zur Verfügung gestellt wurde.
Trotz mehrfacher Telefonate und E-Mails musste ich meinem Geld hinterherrennen. Ich habe den Betrag zwar zurückerhalten, aber nur nach erheblichem Aufwand meinerseits. Die "Entschuldigung" fiel knapp aus – ein klares Eingeständnis des offensichtlichen Fehlers blieb aus.
Statt einer Wiedergutmachung (z. B. Rabatt, Gutschein o. Ä.) wurde mir lediglich ein neues Angebot gemacht – für ein Fahrzeug, das 500 CHF teurer war als meine ursprüngliche Buchung.
Kundenfreundlichkeit sieht anders aus. Für mich kein vertrauenswürdiger Anbieter – ich kann Sixt nicht weiterempfehlen.
