I would give zero stars if it were an option. i can't believe I didn't research this piece of crap company that is using PayPal to give a false sense of credibility and PayPal won't do a damn thing.... Se mere

AFTER CARE SERVICE NON EXISTENT
I purchased my Singer One Plus from this Company in Dec 15 and was offered the 15 year guarantee which I thought was a good idea so just over a year later decided to get my sewing machine serviced as I have the guarantee easier said than done. After trying for over 5 weeks to get someone to answer me I have sent 3 emails then rang the number for the servicing department on the website to find an answer machine message that says they don't accept calls to email them. Then decided to do live chat even though for sales, took over half an hour to reply to me then just gave me an email address sent the email and WOW got one back saying fill in this form (which a child could have written) I filled in the Form and emailed in back thought I am getting somewhere now but since I sent in the Form not heard a thing, The price of the collection/delivery is not included in the guarantee so asked the question how do I pay and how do I arrange pick up. No answer. Don't bother with this company I am going to get my machine serviced in my local sewing shop and put down the loss of the money to experience with the old saying if it sounds too good to be true it normally is - certainly is in this case.
Customer service...
Customer service.... Not an unpolished person...but wasn't clear and cut me off with an abrupt bye, when I tried to ask for clarification.
Worst customer service ever
I have found a machine which seemed perfect for my needs i am new to sewing so I have done extensive research and read everything on the singer and singerdirect websites but some things where still unclear to me or just too good to be true. Like a 15 years warranty they offer! For a piece of mind I got in touch with singer direct via web chat. I advised Laura that the machine I am indenting to purchase comes with a 30 days trial but t&c state that if I will not be satisfied with the product I must return it unused. It made no sense. I have asked if I can actually use the machine within the trial period and if I can return it if it will be unsuitable. She said. "Yes" I was just typing another question but Laura simply closed the chat. I have started another one and the conversation was as follows:
-" Hello I was in the middle of a chat but you have closed it. I wanted also to know if I will need to bear any cost of returning the machine after the 30 day trial if for any reason it will be unsuitable
- you have to pay
- can you advise how much?
- how much is what
- the return cost
- £20
- thank you. I would also like to know if the extended warranty mimics the manufacturer warranty or if not what is covered under it?
- I have not once heard you ask about the product. Not anything just about returns etc. I am always here to help. I think it might be best for you to call our salespeople. "
Then she just closed the chat again!
I know all about the product so therefore I was asking about the things I wasn't too sure about, clearly those kind of questions are not welcomed and if they cannot even clarify things for your piece of mind before purchase what would they be like when you have a problem with the machine later?
I have never had an advisor which just closes the chat like that because you don't ask the " right questions " or without even asking if there is anything else they can help you with!
As far as I am concerned this company ruins Singers reputation and their staff's attitude stinks!
I do not trust them at all so I have just bought the same machine from Tesco, I was very happy with the service and the advise I got 👍
I had an awful customer experience …
I had an awful customer experience with this company - as another reviewer says, if they are rude and unhelpful before you buy, what are they like afterwards?
I spoke to 2 operatives today - the website said that if I called NOW, I might be eligible for a discount of up to 50% - who could refuse?
The first operative spoke very fast and I couldn't understand him and asked him to clarify that I was connected to the right department. He was very brusque - I do understand that I was ringing on New Years Day, but their website did say that the lines were open.
The operative told me that there were no codes available for the 2 models that I mentioned (the 7470 and 6660) as they already reduced and disconnected before I had a chance to ask any further questions.
I had another look at the website and noticed that all their machines already had money off them. I therefore rang the helpline again and spoke to another operative. I explained that I had already spoken to someone and been told that reduced machines could not be further discounted and asked if that was correct and then queried the fact that there was a "ring for a discount code" banner on the website when none of the machines seemed eligible?.
The second operative told me that I had previously spoken to his colleague, who had told him that I had been peculiar, that I was obviously a trouble maker and that my business wasn't welcome and I should buy elsewhere. He then disconnected.
Within minutes,, I received a phone call from a man. He told me that he was the supervisor of the 2 people and was ringing to find out why I was upsetting his staff. As I was the one who was upset, this call disconcerted me and I have to say that I felt it very inappropriate. I tried to explain what had happened, but he was not willing to listen. When I did get a point across he said that he preferred to believe his staff as he could tell I was very sarcastic......
I am unsure therefore why he felt it businesslike and professional to ring me at all. I told him that the second operative had told me to take my business elsewhere and he replied that I should. I had to ask him for his name - Ian Henderson.
This is an appalling way to treat customers. There was no attempt to sell me anything, I felt like an intruder and it is a long time since I have been spoken to in such a fashion by any customer services staff.
I will probably therefore take their advice and take my business elsewhere , which is a pity as this would have been my third Singer sewing machine and I was keen to buy another.
I have complained in writing, but, looking at everyone else's experiences, I am not confident of an equitable response.
I have also written to Singer to ask if this company is affiliated to them, as they are using the Singer flash and trademark on their website, but aren't mentioned as Singer Direct. On the Singer Europe website, a company called Boreham Wood Coopers Sewing Machines are at the business address given on the singerdirect.co.uk website.
Take my advice ----- buy from someone else - Hobbycraft and John Lewis are agents per the Singer website - and apparently Argos have a stock
Update 07/01/17... As expected, no reply from this shower. Have just bought a Singer 4411 from singermachines.co.uk. Rang them first and spoke to a friendly, hellpful man - what a contrast! I ordered on Weds evening, they despatched on Thursday and I was given an hour delivery slot for the Friday. Now that's what customer service is all about!
Biggest regret! DO NOT BUY FROM SINGERDIRECT!
I wanted to buy my mother's christmas present - Sewing Machine for £179.95 early before the christmas rush and the Black Friday sale 26/11/16. So i purchased online on the Monday 21st November, paid £12 extra for the Saturday delivery!!! Waited all day - no delivery! Rang a number for them only to be told that they are not able to track orders and i should ring Monday! Not happy! Rang on the Monday only to get an automated message telling me that they are not able to speak to anyone due to the busy Black Friday and to contact them via email. Which i did telling them how i regret placing an order with them as they failed to deliver the requested Saturday delivery. I demanded a refund of the £12 and if they will not deliver by the weekend i am cancelling my order!! There was no delivery in the weekend! They have delivered yesterday 6/12/16. It's taken them 10 days to deliver counting from the weekend they had promised! I REALLY REGRET PLACING AN ORDER WITH THESE!! My advice to anyone is DO NOT BOTHER WITH SINGER DIRECT! Im glad i didn't buy the extended warranty- god knows what grief that would have entailed Never again! You have been warned!!
Mr Arrogant will call followed by MD the Master of Arrogance
WOW, Almost spent my hard earned money here. Called to order and asked if I wanted a call back, said yes and what followed was short and astonishing.
Call back, no caller ID, called , I asked who they were, the reply, 'you asked for the call, Oh says me is this for the sewing machine, he says 'whats this 20 questions", so I said how rude I will go elsewhere to purchase and he replied "ok" and hung up
What a close escape
One star was just to register should be Zero
No need to panic if you ordered before reading these reviews!
I ordered a new sewing machine and was sent an email notification to say that my order would take 1-3 days to be delivered. After one week had passed and I still hadn't received my machine I sent an email to chase. I started googling the company (which in hindsight I should have done before buying!) and came across these reviews which made me panic!
I phoned the company and spoke to a very nice man about my worries and he said that he would look into it and phone me back. A few hours later I received a call back to say that my machine is on its way and would be delivered on Thursday (it was Monday). My machine arrived the next day and it's perfect!
................................................
** Update: The after-care support is non existent. I had a problem with my machine and wanted to ask them a question so I emailed them but never got a reply. I probably won't use this company again based on that.
No Delivery and unable to get answers from Singerdirect
I ordered a Dress Form £125 - it stated it takes 1 - 3 days to deliver from despatch. I ordered several weeks ago it was supposed to be a birthday present and so thought 5 days was enough time in advance to have ordered it. Birthday long gone and still no delivery. I emailed them - my query created a ticket on sewing support and I got an acknowledgement email we will attempt to reply to your ticket in 1 working day it will be answered by a support representative. No reply & about a week later my ticket query disappeared. I emailed twice more since, got the same acknowledgement email. My query tickets are still there - no reply from them - the website states I am awaiting a reply from myself? In the meantime I have had a bout 4 emails from Singerdirect asking me to sign up to their sewing machine collection service for only £59 odd quid, but no actual replies to my query - not even a please wait 21 days, or a please ring customer services to discuss this query.
I went on the singerdirect website there was a webchat window open - I asked about my order - 'ring tracking' was their only 2 word response.
I did ring tracking - "Whats your order number?" a lady asked, "I'll put you through to tracking."-
I waited about 2 seconds before I got 'Hello...?'
'Hello?' I replied,
'Hello...? she said again.
'Hello...is that ..tracking?' I asked.
'No it's still me all their lines are busy, i'll get them to call you back." - they haven't.
I will give them one more week to deliver goods / try to contact them again and if no success I will see if I can get a refund.
From my own experiences and the others' comments I wonder if theyre taking on new staff, I'd love to receive money for goods I can't be bothered to send out, and get paid to just ignore emails & be rude to people and generally be as useful as a chocolate teapot.
No one called me so I rang them again - still no one was available to take my call. I left my mobile no which I couldn't remember properly at first - 'Thats an easy enough number to remember isn't it' said the cheeky customer service dude - I felt like saying well if its so ruddy easy there shouldnt be any problem in you actually giving me a call back this time - but I didn't cause Im polite ish.
I did not get a call back that day.
I got a call back the next day about 6 o clock even though they say theyre only open til 5. From a person who mispronounced my name - e.g. if my name was Ms O Suzi they called me Mrs G Sizzi - I thought they were PPI so I just said not interested thanks & hung up.
They rang again on the landline - & still mispronouncing my name managed to confirm they weren't selling anything & were from sewing direct. 'Someone's very angry aren't they!' they added in a patronising tone Admittedly I was pretty blunt with this guy cause I originally thought it was a PPI call, but actually Yes I am flipping Angry its taken a month several emails and a phone call to get anything from them and meanwhile theyve taken over £100 and not provided me with any goods.
The unhelpful customer service person then advised that 'they just didn't know what had happened to my order' and they would have to ring me back tomorrow morning.
They did not - so I rang them & spoke to a lady who was reasonably helpful who confirmed the delivery would be with me Friday & that the reason it takes so long is that the dress form has to be built from scratch - hurrah - why I didn't get an email confirming this - why no other customer service person could tell me that the delay was due to it being built from scratch I don't know!
Unfortunately meanwhile that same day my mum also rang up to chase - she was told the order would be delivered on Tuesday??? Well I have not had a despatch email as yet and Tues has passed and no order, and Friday, tomorrow is the day of reckoning......
Well it has turned up on Friday as one of the cust service people suggested - so that is something!
DON'T BUY FROM THIS COMPANY
Delivery of my machine was promised last Thursday, but did not arrive - nor did it arrive Friday or Saturday. When I enquired about this, I was told they would phone me back - they never did. Then I phoned to enquire why the terms of the collection service (I paid £39,99 for it) had changed on their website - now specifying they would only make mainland collections - we live on the Isle of Wight. I was cut off the line and the question went unanswered. Both people were astonishingly unhelpful and evasive.
Alarm bells now wildly ringing I phoned and asked to speak to the manager who called himself Josh, and asked for a refund on my purchases which had not arrived. He was very rude/offered unplausible explanations and was abusive, shouting Postal Force had attempted delivery twice, but had heard screaming in the house (how ridiculous!) and fled. I asked for proof of this - he said it was confidential.
I had waited in for days for this delivery - no Postal Force called - and always reliable Postal Force had not left its usual notice through the door saying they had called but there was no-one at home. I said that it was within my rights to have a refund at this point - he was rude - and I mentioned I would be collecting it via the card company if he didn't give it back. He was really very rude then, and hung up without a goodbye. He phoned back a minute later and said he was going to refund my money and made a few unlikely and unpleasant statements/promises. All very astonishing and hugely unprofessional.
I hope this refund comes through with no further trouble and if it does, I consider I have got off lightly. Altogether a most alarming and unpleasant experience.
OFFENSIVE STAFF
Rang today as they have offers, to ask if they would match Hobbycraft price as they give an extra 10% discount for students. Before I could ask if they would match the price, I was told to go to Hobbycraft! I just said OK then. Then I got abuse about how stupid I was and what an idiot I was - unbelievable. I put the phone down. So annoyed so rang back but didn't get same person. Then a few minutes later the person I had originally spoke to rang back. When asked why he spoke to me like that, he told me I wouldn't listen! I hadn't even managed to get my full question out before being told to go to Hobbycraft. Again he was offensive - said I didn't sound like a student, I sounded like a mature lady!! (What he failed to realise is that there are mature students too) Told me I was stupid for giving up £300 savings - the guarantee is worth £299 but it costs you £20 a year delivery and collection for servicing. So you may as well buy a new machine after 8 years (The cost was £189 - Hobbycraft (170.10). No I would never buy from this company. If that's the service before you buy, what's it like afterwards?!
DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS WEBSITE
10 days ago I purchased a Singer sewing machine on singerdirect.co.uk. Thinking this was the official website.
As I work during business days, I paid £12 pounds extra and selected Saturday delivery option. The order was placed on a Monday.
Not only they didn't deliver my order on the first coming Saturday, but the first delivery attempt was made on the Wednesday of the week after. I sent them an email specifically explaining to deliver on a Saturday because I wouldn't be home, they still didn't change it, instead they tried to deliver again in Thursday. When I called Parcel force directly to re-schedule for Saturday, they said it's fine but I had to pay £12 fee! I already paid the £12 for Saturday delivery when I placed the order.
After a series of emails, chats and calls back and forth the customer service of Singer Direct has still been unable to change delivery for Saturday. Due to the Easter holidays it seems like my order is not going to be delivered until Tuesday. Over 2 weeks after the order was placed.
What's the point of paying for Saturday delivery if they're not going to arrange this with Parcel Force? And what's the point of having a customer service if every time you manage to get through someone they're not solving the problem?
I'm in deep regret now. I should've NEVER placed an order with singerdirect.co.uk. And I still haven't received my machine.
If you want to save yourself a stressful experience, do not order from this company.
