We brought from singer direct had comucation Finley got back to us so worried did get item but turned out damage they asked for pictures so didn't respond still no item part sent out so we lost out money expensive item now we out pocket scammers company

Same firm as British Sewing Centre that have gone bust and stole peoples money.

We ordered a Singer simple and received it more than a month later after 4 attempts to contact them by email, chat and eventually phone. The sewing machine finally got to us over a month after ordering, most unfortunately with the wrong power adaptor cord. The correct one was apparently sent to us on the day of the delivery following our complaint and we have not heard anything from them since. So here I am 18 days after receiving the machine, asking whether we will ever be able to use this machine we bought a month and half ago. And icing on the cake, email communication sent to them is now impossible: emails are rejected by server. I'd predict this company is not going to last long.

Terrible terrible customer service. Impossible to contact them. Neither by phone nor by email. Avoid at all cost!

Only gave 1 star as zero isn't an option. Their chat line is very pressure sales driven. When I asked for advice (as they claimed to offer) I was told they weren't anything to do with Singer and I needed to contact Singer. When I said that was confusing and misleading the conversation was promptly ended.
AVOID if you want good, or even any, customer service.

I've had the worst possible experience in my 10 years of online shopping

In all honesty I am happy with the two Singer machines that I have purchased. My complaint is about the 'so called' 15 year Extended Guarantee that I also purchased after I purchased my first machine which was a Modern Quilter, Long Arm machine that cost £700. This guarantee was awful; I have never experienced such bad service in my life! It is a total rip-off. I sent my machine for its first service and when it was returned a month later something was wrong with the casing and the accessory tray no longer fitted. Getting hold of someone to discuss this was the first problem. I could not speak to Mehul Patel who seemed to be in charge of this service department, so had to email him. For a while all my emails were ignored. I then went to Singer Direct to be told that the guarantee was not supplied by their company but by a third party? It all the advertisements you think it is being supplied by Singer Direct! Anyway Singer Direct did get involved but the result of this was just receipt of another accessory tray which of course did not fit because it seemed to be a problem with the machine casing not being put back properly, not a problem with the accessory tray. I was then asked to return the actual machine but to Singer Direct. Their service department (who are nothing to do with the Company that provided the guarantee but who seemed to have a hotline to them) looked at the machine and this time when it was returned to me, the tray did fit, but maybe not as smoothly as when the machine was new. All in all I was without a sewing machine for over 4 months so felt justified in asking for my extended warranty to be 'extended'. Surprise, surprise all of my emails trying to resolve this were ignored. I have decided that the best thing is to write this off as a bad experience and to not bother with the promised services. I reverted back to my trusted repair man; at least I know I will only be without my machine for a week and that I will have a professional job done.

I am having exactly the same problem as other people who have left reviews on here. I paid £200.00 for a Singer sewing machine, I WAS TOLD MY CHOICE WAS NO LONGER AVAILABLE & OFFERED ME A TOTALLY DIFFERENT MACHINE THAT WASN'T EVEN SINGER. I refused & asked for a refund & that's the last I have heard from them, they have still got my money. I can't get to speak with anyone they won't answer emails & live chat just tells me they can't help & to phone the company direct, round & round in circles. I am now putting in a dispute with my credit card company. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS.

I have ordered and paid for a machine 2 weeks ago. I can’t even get through to customer services as it’s live chat or via email. Want to cancel order & have a refund. Does anyone know how to get hold of them? Luckily I’ve paid by credit card!

I do not know if this is merely a shambolic, unorganised company or whether it is a scam run by criminals but they take your money, do not send you the goods and do not refund your money. On no account should you buy from them - I only wish I’d checked these reviews prior to ordering - my experience echoes exactly all the other duped customers. It’s basically theft.

Had ordered a Singer machine and was advised by the online chat that it would be with me by a certain date. It didn't arrive so I contacted the company . Had a phone call from the managing director who offered an upgrade to a different machine which could be with me the next day which I accepted. Machine arrived by 11am and I completed the project that needed doing the same day. Very happy with the service and the machine. Would recommend.

Horrendous customer service, my machine is 6 months old and developed a fault which I now know was to do with the tension discs. Singer Direct ignored several messages from me via their contact us form on their website and when I managed to call them they had an argument with me down the phone. Even though these machines are sold with warranty and guarantee they would not fix my machine without me paying £50 for a box AND to courier my machine to them....absolutely disgusting. I asked to speak to a manager but I am still waiting for that to happen. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!

Their customer service is non-existent! I've ordered a sewing machine on 3rd March, it's now 9th April, still haven't received it.
Sent numerous e-mails and keep getting automated response.
Haven't dealt with the actual person yet.
Going to give them another week and then try to get a refund.

Avoid buying from Singer Direct!

I ordered a sewing machine online from Singer Direct thinking I was dealing with the online sales dept of Singer itself. No sign of the machine after a week so I contacted them via the online chat, which was interesting to say the least. This may be a voice activated system, ie they speak and it types as it was a very strange conversation. Anyway, someone then called me on my mobile claiming to be the Managing Director and told me that the machine was in transit but they couldn't find a tracking number. He was polite and very apologetic and I had no reason not to believe him. As it was a Friday, he promised a tracking number on Monday, which didn't materialise. On the Tuesday, before I contacted them again, it occurred to me to check Trustpilot......

I'm really cross with myself because I'm normally a savvy online shopper but the Singer Direct website uses all the same branding as Singer so I really thought I was dealing with them. After seeing all the negative reviews, I contacted them via the online chat to cancel the order and request a refund. I was told the machine was with the courier to be delivered the following day so I would have to refuse delivery when it arrived. The same guy who'd called me previously then telephoned, he was polite to start with but did start to get agitated when I was adamant that I wanted to cancel the order. He offered me compensation for the delay which would be 'substantial' though didn't give any figure, and he repeatedly told me that the machine was in transit even though he still couldn't give me a tracking number or even tell me which courier company it was with. Eventually he agreed to cancel the order and said a refund would ensue once they'd got the machine back and checked it over. I was resigned to the fact that this would take weeks, and although I was certain that the machine hadn't even been dispatched, I was worried that he wouldn't cancel the order so it would eventually be delivered and then I'd have the hassle of sending it back. I was promised confirmation of both the cancellation and the refund by email but neither were forthcoming.

So the following day I contacted Singer themselves via their website to ask if Singer Direct was anything to do with them or not and I have to say they were brilliant. I had a reply within the hour saying they weren't connected but Singer Direct were an authorised dealer and as such they would intervene on my behalf to ensure the order was cancelled. When I gave them the details, they came straight back to me to say that it had been cancelled and confirmed that they hadn't even dispatched it to Singer Direct at that point so there was no way the cancellation was too late to stop delivery. Within 5 mins of that message, I got an email confirmation of the cancellation from Singer Direct and a notification of the refund. When I checked my credit card statement, the money had been refunded there and then. I also got an email from the guy saying that he'd had to take it off the couriers van himself - just laughable!

I'm not sure if Singer Direct is just a small company which has taken on too much, or if it's just run by a Billy Liar character but I absolutely wouldn't recommend them to anyone. I'm sure that eventually I would have got the machine, but the fact that he kept lying to me about it being on its way, when it turns out that Singer hadn't even sent it to them, was enough to put me off, and it also seems from other reviews on here that the 15yr guarantee is useless. It seems like a strange set up, the online chat is weird to say the least, and I swear that at one point during my conversation with the 'managing director' he was pretending to talk to someone who wasn't there. Saying 'she wants to cancel, yes I've told her we'll compensate her, yes I've told her it's on its way, no she's adamant'. It was a surreal Faulty Towers moment.

Anyway, I ordered the same machine (for £70 less) from a different online supplier and got next day delivery for no extra cost.

What I would say, to anyone who is struggling to get an order completed, or get a refund, or even having issues with the guarantee, do contact Singer themselves as they were incredibly helpful and clearly have some sway with this company too. I guess an authorised dealership is a lucrative position they won't want to lose.

Since buying my machine in December 2015 I have had very little good to say about this company. Their customer service is appalling. I have had the phone put down in the middle of talking. I have had cheeky comments. When I sent my machine for servicing the first time it came with missing parts and when I enquired was just ignored. Every time my machine has been serviced I can never get it to sew a straight stitch, it takes a lot of messing around to get it to work again. It's like the settings get messed up and it gets jammed.

I also bought some other items at a similar time, some thread. I asked them a question about this by email and they decided to ignore.

Unfortunately to continue to get the servicing I am tied to this company until 2030 but I would never buy from this company again or recommend them to anyone.

I can't believe the poor customer service from Singer Direct.
I have ordered a sewing machine on the 5th of March, I have made the payment which came out of my account day after.
Few hours after placing my order, I have contacted their customer service team to inform them, I want to cancel the order as I have found another machine at a great price.
I had no problem at that stage, apart from being quizzed what is the machine I bought and how much I paid for it 😏
On the 6th of March I had an email from Singer Direct confirming that my order has been cancelled and I will receive my money back upto maximum 14 days from the purchase (it seems like a long time to get the money back when it only takes them a day to process the payment).
I had emailed them on the 17th and 18th (5 emails all together) asking if they have processed the payment and how come it takes so long. I had no response. I had to phone the customer service in the end and an advisor has informed me refund will only be processed on the 21st - 17 days after cancellation!!!! Appalling service and unacceptable time scale to receive money back for something that hasn't even been sent to me

I echo the view of the previous person. Machine ordered feb. No contact, countless emails. Still no machine. Phone line only for placing orders. Gutted I didn’t use PayPal as I don’t think i’ll manage to get my my money back. Sadly I thought this was a reputable company & i’m not usually a naive buyer!

If I could leave a zero star rating I would. Purchased mid February online, no sewing machine, no refund, unable to contact them. Opened a PayPal dispute, and they neither respond to you, or PayPal. Received a refund by PayPal, but it shouldn’t be this way. Terrible rogue trader.
