Going through all the basics of tajweed and understanding how to pronounce letters, this course takes you through everything you need to know to read the Quran.

SimplyTajweed, a four-year-old organisation, has been working to elevate the importance of Tajweed, by teaching the Islamic science as an independent subject rather than just a side topic. They have collaborated with the Altrincham & Hale Muslim Association and the Leeds University Union Islamic Society, and have developed a comprehensive five-volume book series with 81 lessons. The books include clear introductions, summaries, and exercises to help learners progress, as well as audio files to clarify any misunderstandings. SimplyTajweed aims to continue growing its presence in madrassahs, Islamic societies, and its own online platform.

Alhamdullilah having completed the course I can say that it is without a doubt, incredibly comprehensive especially when learning about all the different technical names for concepts most people learn passively. I believe this course is a great way to deepen existing knowledge of tajweed.

For beginners too it is a hugely beneficial resource not least because the concepts are explained in an easily digestible manner with many diagrams. The length of the course may be daunting and you definitely have to commit regular time to revise and practice but the understanding of tajweed that I gained was for sure worth it. May Allah bless the efforts of everyone who takes the course.

I was told about simply tajweed by one of my friends and thought I would give it a shot to see how it is and Alhamdulilah it’s been very beneficial. Going through all the basics of tajweed and understanding how to pronounce letters, this course takes you through everything you need to know to read the Quran. The online course really helps put things into practice and allows you to fully understand the topics. There are also some questions at the end of each book which test your knowledge to see if you fully understand each topic.

Alhamdulillah I have just recently finished the Simply Tajweed course studying both using the books and the online recorded lessons. This is something I would highly recommend to people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds as a guide through the study of tajweed, something which seemed so daunting at first but which was broken down beautifully across this course.

My favourite thing about this is the order in which it is taught. It is presented in a chronological manner such that each lesson feels like you are building on knowledge from previous ones and it adds up quickly. It feels so coherent and fluid to learn, and the specific choices made to the order of the books by linking in topics when they are relevant makes so much sense.

On top of this, it is broken down into short, digestible topics, but each is delivered with concise detail to make it a comprehensive source for tajweed, and it is filled with plenty of exercises, questions and examples for practice throughout.

Another thing I really enjoyed about the course was how it shows the reasoning behind things. This makes it feel like the course isn’t just a monotonous study of rules upon rules, but gives the new things you learn some context, which also aids in remembering it all.

Overall I think this course is a beneficial tool for people to study Tajweed, and it’s genuinely everything it says it is! Starting out from the simple letters of the Arabic alphabet and developing this into all the complex rules of madd and more, it has been a truly valuable experience I have been able to go through at my own pace, and I just want to remind everyone that seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim, and this for me has been one of the best, most comprehensive and accessible dives into the sciences of Islam, and insha Allah anyone who studies it can and will learn and benefit from it!

As someone deeply interested in enhancing my Quranic recitation and understanding, I have recently completed the Simply Tajweed course. And I have to say I am simply blown away.

There is a clear lack of emphasis on the importance and beauty of the Quranic science of tajweed in today's day and age. Learning tajweed is a gateway to deeper connection with the words of our Creator and Simply Tajweed has made this connection extremely accessible.

The course offered a unique blend of traditional learning and modern educational tools, consisting of five well-structured books accompanied by a series of insightful online videos, each designed to facilitate a deeper connection with the Quran and thereby, my deen.

The course began with the absolute basics of Tajweed, covering the pronunciation and articulation points of Arabic letters. The first book served as a gentle introduction, easing me into the different concepts and articulation points. I had some prior knowledge beforehand but it was comforting to be taught from complete scratch, knowing I would have a solid foundation. As I worked my way through the books I was extremely impressed by the concise nature of the books, taking a complex and daunting topics, breaking them down slowly into digestible parts which made learning a breeze. I can truly say that after the course it has transformed my recitation into a more emotive and spiritual experience.

Each book was paired with online videos that provided visual and auditory examples of the Tajweed rules. These multimedia resources were invaluable, not just for auditory learners but for anyone looking to refine their recitation through repeated listening and practice. The videos were professionally produced, with clear audio and visual cues that helped in mirroring the correct pronunciation and application of the rules.

One of the most remarkable aspects of this course was its accessibility. The books were written in simple language, making the complex rules of Tajweed approachable for learners at all levels. Additionally, the online platform was user-friendly, allowing me to easily navigate between lessons and revisit specific segments for reinforcement. The flexibility to learn at my own pace and schedule was a significant advantage, accommodating my daily commitments while still allowing consistent progress.

If there were any questions I had, reaching out and receiving a response was a breeze. Not only was the question answered in-depth, with quality and attention but very quickly too.

The course also included periodic assessments that helped track my progress and identify areas needing improvement. There were also small, informal challenges on the WhatsApp group chat which helped practice different aspects of the course and forced me to actively recall the information I had learned. Feedback from these challenges was detailed and constructive, providing targeted advice that helped refine my skills further.

Overall, this Tajweed course stands out for its comprehensive curriculum, blending traditional teachings with modern educational tools. It not only enhanced my Quranic recitation skills but also brought me closer to my deen, enriching my spiritual life. My experience during Simply Tajweed classes has been thoroughly enjoyable, learning definitions and rules of specific concepts has been extremely useful for me. I would strongly recommend this course to every ability. May Allah reward the organisers of this program abunduntly.

As a native Arabic speaker, i would recommend these books to all people of all levels in tajweed. The level of detail and the

Simply Tajweed is useful for all levels of learners of a variety of ways. It has benefited me in strengthening my knowledge of the Arabic letters and learning the rules behind them.

I have enjoyed my experience with the SimplyTajweed lessons. They are very interactive and engaging, and many activities to take part in, in order to further widen your understanding of the topics which are discussed. There are also recap sessions before the lesson starts which are refreshing and help to further consolidate previous knowledge. Overall I really enjoy the lessons!

The Simply Tajweed course has helped me with building my knowledge and skill of the recitation of the Quran by explaining concepts and rules that I never thought existed in the Quran in a very digestible and understanding manner. The online lessons and books are very well laid out and structured with the explanations, discussion points and the homework tasks all being very well thought out and useful in consolidating what we had learnt in that lesson.
The course also highlights aspects in Tajweed that you would probably never learn in a traditional madrassah setting, like common mistakes that arise during recitation, terms and concepts that usually would never be taught during a 2 hour madrassah lesson and many more. The course is also structured so that anyone, even a total beginner can start this course and inshallah become proficient in reciting the quran if they practise and implement what is taught
After finishing the course, I can truly say that this course has helped me in ways that I never would have thought in my recitation of the Quran. May Allah bless the Ustadh and anyone who has helped in the making of this course and increase them in reward.

My experience with Simply Tajweed has been one of the best things due to the simplicity and effectiveness. I completed the course using the online lessons as well as the course books.

When it came to reading Quran I always implemented the rules but never knew what the rules were or why they were needed. Alhamdulillah this is where Simply Tajweed is perfect for me as the books take you through each step of the way. I find that the structure of the videos along with the book go really well together as well as the questions at the end of each book. These questions are enough to ensure that you’ve taken in the knowledge and is a good way to check your progress.

The best thing about Simply Tajweed is that you can start from any level. The pace of the course is perfect and is very easy to find time for. The course doesn’t feel rushed at all.

I would 100% recommended Simply Tajweed to anyone that is willing to learn as you won’t find a course better!

The course books made tajweed very easy to understand and learn. I recommend it especially for the beginners

Really enjoyed enrolling on this course alongside uni. It’s an interactive lesson and is fun, enrol with a friend or don’t, you’ll get to know others too.

I recommend this for those who recite in Tajweed without knowing the rules and for most beginners. I would say minimum know the Arabic alphabet.

I would advise that if you enroll read Quran alongside it inshallah, even if it’s Surahs you know- you get to see them in a newer way and apply your knowledge too.

Note this was a mixed class but with separate seating and in this group it was more F>M but that can look differently in other STgroups.

Overall the teaching and content was engaging, great professionalism, hospitality and consideration form the teachers and ISOC committee members.

Simply tajweed is an amazing course that is suitable for all. Whether you have never learnt tajweed or you know the basics, the programme allows strong foundations to be built and expanded throughout the course. The books break down tajweed simply and the weekly classes are engaging with interactive tasks throughout. The workbooks allow you to consdilate your knowledge with homework tasks for each section.
I woild highly recommend simply tajweed to anyone trying to improve their tajweed

The SimplyTajweed course is a course that all English speaking Muslims that are serious about improving their relationship with the Quran should do. There is nothing better than doing Allah's words justice by reciting them as they were revealed to our beloved Prophet (PBUH), and I believe that there is no better course out there for tajweed than SimplyTajweed.

It is structured in a way that it is very accessible to a beginner audience, with concise and clear lessons which nicely build on one another and give plenty of opportunity for practice.

Nevertheless, it still provides much benefit to experienced reciters looking to perfect their recitation, as the course is based on the science of tajweed - it doesn't just teach what to do at the symbols one finds in the Quran but why. The course also points out the common and subtle errors that people make when reciting, and notes in the final book all those atypical cases which might stump even those very familiar with the rules of tajweed.

I finished the course in April 2024, both using the online lessons and the course books. Mohammed is a fantastic teacher, I commend him for his efforts and ask Allah rewards him and the SimplyTajweed team, Ameen.
