Went to EMC1 at Billericay. Had a great time and learnt so much from James. The course was really well laid out and I knew exactly what we were learning and when.

James is an excellent teacher with the patience of a saint with me and my checking lol.

Will most definitely be booking the other course for next year.

Ordered the Siege-recommended painting light on day 1 of one of the weekend courses, and James brought it in with him the next day.
The light is amazing. Where I used to use 2 of those basic LED positionable lights before, this light on its own, on a lower brightness, still gives off more and better light than the 2 lights combined.
Highly recommend.

Excellent course that gave us plenty of good advice, a greater understanding of the theory behind painting and picked up loads of little tricks to use in future.

Amazing experience. The 2 days was well structured and built on the first one (albeit felt you could come to this one without doing it - saying that the airbrush and blending pieces from the first course are useful here). I liked James styles of teaching, he breaks things down and explains why he does it that way, makes it easier to think about applying in other situations. He is also very approachable to asking question, using slightly different paint schemes and giving encouragement. I really liked the idea that success for the days isn’t about the quality of what you paint but more about leaning a process that can be applied in your painting outside of the course. Can’t wait for them to develop a 3rd course as will sign up for it straight away

The session was on time and easy to join and participate. George was excellent, very patient and explained concepts and showed practical tips which will really help my painting. Very easy to communicate with and explain any questions I had. Would highly recommend Siege Studios.

Just went on Siege Studio's Essentials Master Course 1 and would highly recommend it for expanding your miniature painting skills. Really informative, with loads of practical techniques and tips which you implement under guidance during the course.

The course with Simon was fantastic, it was my first painting course (3 years in the hobby) I learnt so much and it makes such a difference to have that knowledge in front of you, for questions, feedback and to watch how it should be done step by step. I absolutely would recommend anyone who is on the fence to go for it. The only reason I haven’t given this a perfect score was that the course I booked onto was very popular, meaning we had to do it in the main gaming room at element, so it was a little difficult to hear and get close enough to the demonstrations to see as well as I could have.

James was really friendly, very knowledgeable and most importantly readily available to answer any questions or give feedback. I've been painting for about 5 years and have got to a certain level so wanted to relearn bad habits I've got into. This really helped me and made me look at certain aspects of painting differently. Siege Studios painted the primarch ive always wanted, they were great from the start of the commission to the end, highly recommend them and I definitely will be using them again

To begin with Siege have a very informative website with good photography around their painting levels. Really clear pictures and no unnecessary dramatic effects. Once started, the process is very straight forward and guidance is always very clear. Once a painter is allocated and the work starts the updates are very regular. Most important the painting is excellent and more than met my expectations. I feel the level of quality I received at bronze level was on par at minimum with the same models I have seen at Warhammer world in the exhibition. Very clean paint work. Very consistent too. I have collected Warhammer since I was a kid so It means the world to me to have a lovely painted army. The whole experience has been brilliant. I cannot recommended them enough.

Although the wait was a long time (over a year I think) the updates & general communication was very good. When there was an issue the response was quick and decisive. The end result was well worth the wait & the cost. I will use the service again & wouldn't hesitate to recommend it

Attended the painting master class in Stockport. Simon was fantastic, never boring or monotone when going through the processes and gave constructive feedback and help. It would have been awesome to have some kind of streaming/camera setup so we could see him work his magic up close but he always had the time to show you how if you asked for that bit of extra help. Would definitely recommend

It pains me to leave a negative review as I was looking forward to the course. However, I think it's worth leaving some constructive feedback. Firstly, the course was held at element games in their main gaming room, which as you imagine is pretty loud and not particularly conducive to hearing what is being said. Also, the class size was probably about 25+ students to one tutor and with barely enough room for all of us to gather round and watch his demonstrations. I think I stood on the other side of a table watching the tutor paint a sword about 4 metres away. Just to be clear, Simon (I think) who ran the course was very professional as well as knowledgeable and did the best he could I just think there was to many of us in an illsuited environment.

I think it's necessary to give a response to your reply to my original review.

Firstly, fair enough in regards to 23 students as opposed to 25+ plus students that I stated. This was an incorrect estimation on my part. However, I still think this is a pretty sizeable number when considering the fact that people must crowd round to see the demonstrations. You state that standing at the back is entirely within my control. I'm sorry there's only so much space, unless you expect people to climb over one another. Furthermore, it is not true that no one has ever raised concerns over the class size. On the 25th of February of this year another customer made similar criticisms and suggested maybe a camera and projector to aid the demonstrations would help, I agree with this suggestion.

Moving on to your point about what venue I book is my decision, to which you are correct, it is and perhaps I should have proceeded with greater due diligence. However, I think it is reasonable that I or anyone else would expect the course to be carried out in a separate room and not in a room full of dozens of people playing table top games to be a reasonable one. Also, I think siege studios is aware of this, as Simon on the day said “we have a private room, but it's too small and too many people book the course”. So I think it's a bit disingenuous to push this back on to me as a customer when this issue is actually something Siege Studios accounted for in the first place.

So finishing up, I don't think these issues are outside Siege Studios control and replying with AI laden wall of text and pushing everything back onto me as a paying customer is a bit crap to be honest.

Look I love what you guys do at Siege, I watch your podcast every week and have periodically signed up for your patreon, which has great content on it. But you as a business you have asked for my feedback, which I have given you. All the best with siege studios.

Excellent course ! I met an impressive teacher, who was able to clearly explain his techniques and was always supporting the students. He delivered us lots of advices, and constructive criticism when necessary.
I strongly recommend this course to whoever wants to improve their basic painting skills !

They were more than accommodating with my ideas and even at their lowest tier, the models have a quality unlike anything I've ever assembled and painted. A dream come true.

The detail of questions to get the look we wanted, the progress checks to insure it was what was desired and communication on status.

Overall enjoyed the event, location was great, 20 mins down the road from where we live. in fact I only knew about on the Saturday morning via social media so we just ordered tickets and rocked up at lunchtime. Good ticket proce and process. Liked the Warboot too. Nice atmosphere at the event, stunning miniatures but had to queue for almost an hour to get to see them and by the time we got to the cabinets near the stage the winners stuff was removed for judging just as we got to it! I guess the takeaway here is to arrive early to get to see everything. But I don't know if the queues were like that all day? Having to wait so long with two kids spoilt it a bit for me, but I don't know how you can avoid the queues? This was the first painting competition I've attended apart from Games Day about 15 years ago so I don't have an idea if the queues are the norm? Might go next year but earlier 🙂

Got my mini exactly as I imagined it, and the paint job is jaw dropping.
Will eventually order from you again, for sure!
