The pricing for box’s are very good there if you need it for work or for moving home as I only buy from Shurgard
The staff members are extremely excellent they help you all the time they go above and beyond the manager Kayla and Thaj are the best there and you won’t get better staff than these both helpful and kind at all times

Not as they advertise, renal for £1 for first month! Once you add on charges for this and that you end up paying roughly 80 quid!

Title: Misleading Contract and Unfair Extra Charge
I booked storage at Shurgard Forest Hill for only seven days. The staff advised booking for a month because it was “cheaper,” but they didn’t mention that the contract would auto-renew or require notice to cancel. I removed my belongings after one week and was informed that I still will have to pay another £168, as it’s 15 day notice. When I called, I was told it’s in the contract — but this was never explained to me over the phone.
This feels misleading and unfair, especially after clearly stating my short-term needs. I’ve raised a formal complaint and hope Shurgard resolves this appropriately.

Thank you for replying, but this doesn’t address the issue.
I was encouraged over the phone to book “a month because it’s cheaper,” after saying I only needed storage for seven days. I was never told the contract would auto-renew or require 15 days’ notice. Payment was taken before I saw any contract, so I couldn’t review those terms before agreeing.
Under UK consumer law, key terms must be disclosed before a sale — saying “it’s in the contract” afterwards doesn’t make it legal.
This has been extremely frustrating, as I’ve had to spend hours dealing with what feels like dishonesty and poor communication. I was even told that my lock was “drilled,” when in reality I had already vacated the unit and removed my padlock — with proof.
I’ve emailed both the branch and head office asking them to void the invoice for the period after I vacated the unit, but they ignore my emails, even though before it used to take them just a few hours to reply.

I had a nice experience with the branch in Forest Hill prompt response to me when I needed to move my things same day and the customer assistance was very helpful making sure I got everything right

The storage is well clean, quiet and the staff are very helpful and it’s easy to have access

Awful experience with the receptionist
The girl in the reception has been completely unprofessional, rude, and treated me with total indifference when I asked her informations about my contract. She also refused to show me proofs of me having food in my unit when she terminated my contract without any reason. She also lied sending me an email saying she accepted my intention to end the contract when I never had such an intention. She also called me homeless saying that I was sleeping in the unit and when I asked her to check the security cameras footage to prove that was not true she refused it once again. Same thing with some dirt she found in the common part. She accused my dog for it and when I asked why or to show me a footage that would have proved it she refused it and started ignoring me. I am a customer paying for your service but during this experience I only paid to stand the complete ineptitude of your own employee, the problems she caused me and the time she made me waste. She also refused to give me a number to call for complaints. She gave me an email address which I wrote to. Pity she was the one reading it and she never replied to me.
