Most of the advertisements state "free delivery", however, when checking out, Shopee adds a delivery fee. Forget returning goods as Flash couriers decided yesterday that it was too far for them to travel to Rayong to collect a faulty item that they delivered themselves a few days before. No one takes responsibility for anything. I can't even download the Shopee app as it thinks I'm not in Thailand although I am. Overall, Shopee is the scamming, wanna-be, immature Ali Express but a lot worse.

Damn shopee, it gets all your money then ignores you. I was a deliverer of it and the customer once said that the product wasn't what she was expecting and smashed the product and Shopee made me pay for it but not asking the customer to pay it instead

I thought Shopee was good until all of a sudden, it decided to unilaterally – without ever informing me much less getting my consent - enrol me for X.cover.com “protection” (and it comes across as being as thuggish as the protection rackets run by gangsters). When I clicked onto the link (to cancel my “cover”) in X.cover.com’s 1st email to me charging me a protection cover for a $6 item I had purchased on Shopee. After a long rigmarole of having to sign in (after resetting my password that I never knew I had!), a message appeared that if I wanted to cancel my subscription to X.cover.com, I would have to contact Shopee. I clicked on the link to Shopee and guess what? There was absolutely no perceptible way of getting through to them to do so. This is an absolute con and outright scam by both Shopee and X.cover.com! I shall not be shopping with shopee.com again. This is absolutely myopic, and disgustingly pathetic! Take this as a master-course on how to disgruntle a turn away customers - and I buy (used to!!) a lot through this very foolish shopping site. PS: X.cover.com is a genuine scam. It is supposed to be a protection cover for items purchased on Shopee but the deal they lay out in their terms includes: (1) if an item is on the manufacturers warranty, don’t bother us; contact Shopee and (2) if an item is lost, report it to the police first; keep all evidence and then submit the police report. This is an ingenious but thoroughly disingenuous way of saying we’re charging you for non-existent protection cover but - bearing in mind that most purchases are only a few dollars - we’re going make it very difficult for you to make a claim. It just won’t be worth your while! These are the actions of an out and out crook! By knowingly imposing such a ludicrous cover on customers, Shopee is giving the proverbial middle finger to all of us. I so hope their business fails - deservedly!

I bought a product from Shopee TH and it was not the same as advertised. After using it twice within 12 days it failed.
The seller said they would refund the money if I gave a 5 star review. A 5 star review would make new customers think that the product is good when it is not.
Shopee support did not offer any support when I contacted them and did not care that 5 star reviews are being bought for faulty items.
No support
No support. Shopee is known for NOT providing any support unless you pay the exorbitant IDD call fees.
They will not answer via email, why? Because there is no email contact.
This is convenient (and becoming more prevalent across most online sellers) because they can now deny anything that was said on the phone/chat app and state that 'conflicts' between Shopee and the customer were misunderstood (using the typical "he said/she said" excuse.
I have tried to contact Shopee on numerous occasions to report about fake products or scamming sellers and the 3 times I have gotten through only received one message 'We will look into this". Checked the 'shop' and they are all 3 still up and running.
It's obvious where Shopee loyalty lies, with the seller of course, again why? Because that's where Shopee gets their money from, they get a percentage from the sales, but nothing from the buyer.
Also, being based in Singapore this is a 'shell company' run by Chinese manufacturers who's business ethics are known for being subpar across the world and the major driving force behind their ethos is profit above all.
This is not the only online seller within SEA that has this 'business model'. I've tried 2 others and the organisational structure is the same, only contact through cellphone/online chat app available for customer support.
I try to avoid these 3 now and go back to paying, at times, exorbitant prices at Amazon, but at least I know, the item is genuine and the customer support is actually helpful and listens and helps customers.

Send the goods back myself. Shopee eventually 'credit' me for the items returned but do not allow you to use the credit unless you register a bank account with them. Shopee then don't allow me to register my bank with them. It's a scam. They will gaslight you throughout every step until you submit to the fact they have simply stolen your money.

THey banned my shop because of their error in their system about words to be banned. CS just said sweet words but nothing happened. THe host server was at Shanghai at that time (they have ultimate right to make desicion), the other servers and offices and staffs pershaps were just tails with no permission to do anything more.
BTW, there have been being a lot of fraudulent and fake products on their platforms throughout countries. Governments should ban these CHinese platforms out of service. (SHopee are not Singapore company)

My account has been banned, and I have not received any clear explanation for this action. In addition, I have been waiting for almost five days for a response to my concern, even though I was initially told I would receive feedback within 24-28 hours.
I have tried reaching out to your support team several times through both email and the live chat feature, but I am either left waiting or receive no meaningful response. As a result, I am left in the dark about the status of my account and orders. The inability to access my account is causing significant issues, especially because I cannot track my orders or view any important information related to past purchases.
Furthermore, all of my account details were verified, and I have ensured that I followed Shopee's guidelines. This makes it even more confusing why my account was banned without any notification or detailed explanation. I believe I should be given proper communication and a clearer understanding of what is happening with my account.
I am kindly requesting a clear explanation of why my account was banned, immediate access to my account so that I can track my orders, and an urgent response from your customer support team within 24 hours. I also request better communication from Shopee in terms of providing updates regarding my account status.
I have attached relevant evidence, including screenshots of emails and chat logs, to support my case. I hope that this matter will be taken seriously and resolved promptly.

Shopee scrapes by on a good-enough buying experience while ignoring key features such as user curated wishlists (only available through their mobile app) and any method to see a list of followed stores. They are seemingly the ONLY big platform that has neglected these features.
Furthermore, they continually put tremendous energy in things that don't matter like their app launching you directly into their social-media-esque video service which serves no good purpose other than to waste your time and data.
Their advertisements in other apps are borderline malicious doing everything from auto-launching users into the app to even putting fake close buttons to trick users into launching the app. ONLY their advertisements employ these dark pattern designs.
Shopee is the platform we use, not because it's good, but because it's there.

Management at Shopee Lie
Bought an item on the platform on 27-Apr-2025. The buyer page says that the item will be shipped out in 15 days. I was told by one of their managers on 05-May-2025, that if the item wasn't shipped out before 12-May-2025, she would help cancel the order and make good on the refund. Got in touch with the platform on 12-May-2025, and I was told that I would have to wait till the midnight of the day for the cancellation, and subsequent refund to happen. Got in touch with the platform on 13-May-2025 through multiple calls and messages, and even then nothing happens. Asked to speak to the manager who sent me the earlier message, and then starts their stalling game. She doesn't respond at all. Sent their COO, and helpdesk to confirm that there is a pending action item on the 13-May-2025, and even then nothing happens. Then on 16-May-2025, I get a msg from another manager working for the platform informing me that though their previous manager confirmed the order would be cancelled and money refunded if the order is not shipped out on 12-May-2025, the order has been shipped out on 16-May-2025. And then the story telling starts. Their customer support is pathetic at best. The lesser said about their management, the better. Twice their customer support just drops of calls on 16-May-2025, as I start asking questions. Customer beware.

1. Manager Mel would not compensate unless I shout at him. And he claim that my parcel was not sent to wrong locker. And he also lied about fake called me the day before which he never call. Yes. They keep lying.
2. Snr manager Kenneth, ignore my messages for days, he waited for me to place an order then showed up only to close my enquiry, he claimed that my request for a call from him is declined? So he basically will be quiet and wait for the custumer to give up, how manipulative is he?????
3. When Shopee compensate you vouchers, you have to buy from Shopee, which Shopee will still take %. So even if it is 5 dollar compensations voucher, probably only cost Shopee 2.5 dollars, and the so called managers still being so manipulative that do not want to issue?
So cheap, so toxic, will not use Shopee on the future at all!

I've bought numerous items on Shopee.vn, they are well priced and you can buy via cash on delivery, however the shippers can sometimes facee delays or arrive at unpredictable times, some items are straight up fake and getting a refund requires you to buy a box and put a mailing address on it, as well as putting the item in the box, that's a rediculous refund process, I can't honestly give it less than 3 stars though, as it's convenient, well priced and the majority of purchases arrive in a timely manner and are genuine.

Ordered and payed for a dishwasher in november, didn't get it. You order and pay in advance and you don't get what you've payed for. No replys to my emails, obviously this is a scam.

Beware when shopping from Shopee. Had 2 fraudulent cases. Previously bought a jade bangle on it's live. Delivery was never made even though payment was made. However transaction was made outside of the app for this case which became my fault. I lost the money. 2nd case, bought a table on 15th Feb with a promised delivery within 35 days. Expected date of delivery was updated to 17 March. However there is no delivery and tracking link was not provided giving proof of shipment. Refund request was rejected multiple times on the basis that the item was in transit when actually there was no proof of shipment made. Request for refund was constantly rejected, chats with their agents yielded just rejections, police report made to no avail. Shopee cannot verify that item had been shipped. Lost money again due to non-delivery.

I am writing to express my profound frustration and outrage regarding Shopee, the Singapore-based online marketplace that operates with complete disregard for Malaysian consumer rights. past experiences nothing short of a nightmare, highlighting their abysmal customer service and a refund process that is nothing less than a farce.
After purchasing an item that was not only incomplete but also misrepresented, I engaged in a conversation with the seller, who shockingly admitted to committing fraud and scamming me. I have screenshots of this admission, yet when I presented this evidence to Shopee, they simply shrugged it off. To make matters worse, I discovered that Shopee allows sellers to modify their listings both before and after a purchase, creating confusion for buyers. This is akin to tampering with evidence and is completely unacceptable.
Despite having clear proof of the seller's wrongdoing, including their own admission and the altered listings, Shopee’s customer service showed no concern whatsoever. They rejected my claims with a casual disregard, as if my rights as a consumer and the Malaysian legal system were of no consequence to them.
This blatant disregard for our laws is alarming. Shopee is not just providing poor service; they are actively undermining consumer protections and enabling fraudulent behavior. I call upon the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDN) to take immediate action against these practices.
It is unacceptable for a foreign platform to operate in Malaysia while bullying customers and ignoring our legal framework. I strongly urge anyone considering using Shopee to think twice. Until they address these serious issues, I cannot recommend this platform to anyone.
