Sharp microwave not fit for purpose. Never again...

Purchased a Sharp microwave from Freeman's mail order, 9th June. It kind of serves me right for not reporting the poor quality and billowing steam issue, at the start, but I grew continually worse. I tried to report it to Freeman's, and it turned out I was literally a week outside of the one-year warranty. After a lot of stress, they suggested I contact Sharp. I just did this and as suspected, Sharp simply told me there was nothing they could do.

So close to the warranty, I would have thought a bit of goodwill to offer to look at it could have been offered.

Poor quality goods and customer service. Shall never, ever purchase further Sharp products and will ensure I let family and friends know about this.

Considering they now, in 2024, offer a further six months warranty, on registration within 14 days, I would think that this could have been offered to me.

Very frustrated to have to spend another £100 on a replacement. This time will order from a manufacturer direct, where quality products and extended warranties come as standard.

Sharp Microwave terrible customer service

I needed a new microwave and unfortunately bought a Sharp YC-GC52B, I had a Sharp two microwaves ago and it was fine. This model has been a pain from the start, it has a child lock on it, which I dont need as I have no children in my house but I had no idea this feature was on there. This LOC CONSTANTLY goes on and it is very difficult to turn off, it says in the manual to press the mute button but that does not always work, I have to disconnect it at the mains. I have tried to contact Customer Services but they gave me a number to ring which was not in service. I would send it back and ask for my money back and say to other customers DONT BUY THIS. Shame as its a nice looking microwave with a flat bed which I prefer

bought a Sharp Microwave

bought a Sharp Microwave, ( I hade used Microwaves before Panasonic Excellent ) This Sharp was total disaster from day One, it would not extract condensation, after 2 months it started to peel internal plastics with mould in all joints.
Sharp,,, as the Chinese say Tufu Rubbish, as it is now a Chinese Co no longer Japanese

If I could give them a zero star I…

If I could give them a zero star I personally would. I purchased the six and one indoor electric grill air fryer XL family size. I purchased the first one on Walmart app Walmart originally had them inside the store until so many people were complaining about it randomly not working anymore and they took it off their shelves, but they still accept third-party delivery from the sharp company, I return the first time personally by going to the store I went and purchased the product for delivery because Walmart no longer carry them I wonder why? ! Delivered April 30 the new one today is June 10 once again this item randomly shut off and doesn’t wanna work. I contacted Walmart. They no longer take returns of this product inside their store once again. I wonder why they did initiate a refund and it was approved to go to post office now and return this faulty item.
I get a message from Sharp telling me that it’s past the time of refund and they will not provide a shipping label or anything else. It’s too late because Walmart already did and I’m returning this item even if I have to pay for the box and shipping this is unfair to customers what your company is doing to people it seems like many people are having the same issue with your products they buy them they love them and then they suddenly stop working It’s unfair to the customers and I hope you guys get ready for a lawsuit coming your way

No Response, No Urgency

Purchased a Sharp Washing Machine from Currys on the 01st May, and on the 29th May it stopped working.

I have been trying for 1 week to communicate with someone from Sharp UK to obtain a return order number for Currys to send a replacement, and there is no answer on the landline and the call constantly cuts out.

Eventually logged a complaint on their Resolve platform, only to have a person constantly resend the same message asking for details of the washing machine.

1 Week later and I have still not spoken to a person, or had an actual response to the situation.

Beyond frustrated.

Absolute Abzocke

Absolute Abzocke! Defekte Mikrowelle. Alles zeitgemäß eingesendet. Es wird gewartet bis die Gewährleistung abgelaufen ist, um sich zu melden und mitzuteilen, dass die Gewährleistung abgelaufen ist !?! Bei einem Einspruch wurde per Ferndiagnose falsche Reinigung unterstellt... alles klar!....

DON’T BUY! Wish I read these reviews

Wish I read these reviews. Don’t ever buy from sharp! I thought they were a safe well known company but not anymore. I bought a dishwasher from them through Currys. It doesn’t work from day 1. Currys won’t do anything until they get an uplift number from sharp. I’ve been trying for weeks, no one replies to emails or picks up the phone. I don’t understand how they’re still legally running.

Avoid at all cost

Been waiting since February for them to fix my washing machine guy come out span the drum said yes bearings gone ill have to order them . Still waiting they made a appointment to come out again then messaged day before and said hadn't got bearing in stocks. Still awaiting new appointment. Engineer said keep using it but stop if clothes start coming out with black on. You can hear the machine in the street on take off

The sharp washing machine I purchased…

The sharp washing machine I purchased stopped working after 3 weeks, I wanted to return the washing machine because the engineer they sent said it’s a common fault and to return it because I’d have consistent problems with this model, i spoke to a customer advisor called claire this morning as I have been chasing them for an uplift number sharp told me I needed to get the machine taking away, I phoned 0333 577 7230 on Tuesday 22/5/24 at 9.26 am and spoke to claire who was beyond rude, she told me that I couldn’t get an uplift number and I couldn’t speak to the manager, she also hung up the phone on me, I was so upset! Claire refused to help me and was so unnecessary horrible to me, I will have to contact the consumer council to have this issue investigated

Katastrophe

Sehr Unprofessionell und Unseriös. Kundendienst ist sehr unhöflich. Warte seit knapp drei Wochen auf eine Antwort, Waschmaschine neugekauft und Kaputt. Keinen interessiert es da natürlich tausende Kunden nur Probleme haben wie es aussieht. Kein Wunder sind ja 99% der Bewertungen mit einem Stern, sagt ja alles schon.

I WILL NEVER BUY FROM SHARP AGAIN

We have a tumble dryer which is still in warranty but has stopped working. Sent an email to the warranty mailbox and promptly got a call from a company called Pacifica who Sharp clearly pay to deal with repairs. Two months later, we’ve had four appointments with Pacifica where no one turned up, and Sharp are ignoring my emails.

I will NEVER buy a Sharp product again.

Ecran qui ne s'allume plus.
Tv non réparable
En plus elle était très longue pour s'allumer et on ne pouvait paramétrer le sous titrage dont j'ai besoin.
Le sav leclerc va me la rembourser puisque garantie
Mais jamais oh plus jamais je ne reprendrai cette marque !

Disgraceful time wasters.

We have an extended warranty with a washer dryer and this is the 3rd time we have had to get it fixed for a recurring problem. Each time an engineer comes out he doesn't bring the required part... which is ridiculous considering it is the same problem each time so they should know the part they require. We have been waiting 4 weeks so far since our initial call to have the machine fixed. They are not forthcoming with calling regarding updates, I have spent a huge amount of my time calling and being on hold for updates. When an engineer came out )2 weeks after our initial call) it was scheduled 9am-11am. He didn't arrive until around 4.30pm and only with an excuse of "sorry my phone didn't charge". We waited a further 2 weeks for him to 'schedule a return' with the correct part. I rang Sharp every day and they said they didnt have an update until yesterday. We now finally have a scheduled return date of 30th April which will be over 5 and a half weeks since our initial call. I will not hold my breath. In the meantime I have been unable to use my machine and have been making a 40minute round trip to my sisters for her to do my washing. I currently have several piles of dirty washing all over my house. Sharp seem to think a washing machine is a luxury and not a necessity!! Absolutely disgraceful and the next time it breaks we will not be purchasing another Sharp!!!!!

Stuck with a broken fridge in the middle of my living room!

Absolutely appalling customer service, ordered a fridge/freezer from Currys which was delivered on 05/04/24. My daughter who was in to recieve the order said the delivery driver was rude and bashed the fridge all the way up the stairs (we live in a second floor flat). Once installed (I paid Currys for installation) the fridge didn't work. The light turned on but not matter what we tried it would not get cold.
I immediately phoned Currys on learning this and was told they were unable to do anything and that I had to contact the manufacturer to get a code for repair or replacement. I find this ridiculous as Currys sold me the fridge. They told me they could send an engineer out to see if it was fixable so I agreed, I desperately needed a fridge and had been without a working one for over a week at this point. Two days later they sent the same delivery driver (not an engineer), who confirmed it was broken and said he didn't know why they sent him. I contacted Curry's again and they said there was nothing they could do and I would have to contact Sharp the company that made the fridge. I did this (this took me three attempts as they kept hanging up on me). By this point I just wished to return the fridge and go elsewhere for another. Sharp told me again they would need to send someone out to confirm the fridge was broken and couldn't be fixed. I explained I just wanted to return the fridge and Currys had already confirmed it was broken. Sharp said they had to send an engineer out but they couldn't send anyone until 18/04/24. I explained that was ridiculous. We are a household of three one of whom is 8 months pregnant and we must have a working fridge/freezer. I told them I was going to buy another fridge so they could by all means come and look at it but I was not keeping the broken fridge. On 17/04/24 I received a text message cancelling the engineer and re-booking for 30/04/24.
I live in a small two bedroom flat with my daughter and her partner, they are expecting a baby on 04/05/24. I brought a new fridge over a week ago from another company, it was installed perfectly and works like a dream (there was a minor dent in the door and their customer service was FANTASTIC).
I know have a full size fridge/freezer in the middle of my living room and we are about to welcome a new born baby into our home. Neither Currys nor Sharp seem to care remotely or want to come and collect the fridge. I may end up having to leave it outside at this rate but I have no intention of keeping or paying for this fridge and I will NEVER order from either company again!

My washing machine of 8 months broke, I have waited over a week for the company to send an engineer out! I had a message this morning to say my engineer would arrive between 9am and 11.25am! He didn't arrive. I clicked on the link in the message and it said I was the next call, then I received a message from the engineer to say due to a technical fault I had been given the wrong time! It would be between 1.09pm and 4.09 pm. I rang Sharp at 12.30 to see what was going on to be told they couldn't get in touch with the the engineer, but had left a message for him to ring them and they would then ring me, at 3.30 I rang Sharp again to be told they still couldn't get in touch with the engineer!!! But he was definitely coming to me today. It's now 5.40pm no engineer and now phone call. So my review is what a rubbish company. And I will be seeking further advice. 🤬🤬🤬🤬
