Cannock Chase running festival (October 25).

Access to race parking was a disaster - I arrived with over half an hour to spare but didn't actually get into the car park until 5 minutes before the race was due to start. Parking itself was very difficult because there were very few spaces left. This left no time at all to warm up.

Rushed to bag drop, friendly lady said race start had been delayed because of parking problems. Headed down to loo when race klaxon sounded, so I had to sprint 200-250m up a hill to join the back of the race, and then had to work my way through to reach my normal pace position.

On race completion, I went to pick up my free parking voucher (as advertised in race info) and was told that it wasn't free and was merely 30p (!) off a fairly steep charge of £7.30 - so £7 parking for approx 1 hour of parking. I did the Cannock event twice in 2024, and there were no issues parking and no charges.

To top it all off, I ended up with a 2 week strain injury due to the lack of opportunity to warm up.

Every time I book a race the price has increased again, some half marathons are nearly £50 which is ridiculous.
Each race I book I contact them to check if there’s dogs because I’m scared and I only book ‘dog free’ events. But every time I turn up the event villages have more dogs than spectators because they don’t enforce it, I’ve started trying to avoid run through events and look elsewhere.

This was my first race ever and I was a bit nervous and unsure. The staff and volunteers were friendly, helpful, and supportive. They cheered and encouraged every participant at every turn. I was one of the last ones to cross the finish line and, despite it being cold and dark, they continued to cheer me on and made me feel safe. I’m incredibly grateful for their support, it made all the difference. I’m definitely going to run in future events.

In der Woche vor dem Lauf fehlte es mir an Informationen, z.B. wo und wann kann man die Startnummer holen, gibt es eine Gepäckabgabe? Wertsachen? Ich fand auch nirgends Angaben, wie viele Verpflegungsposten gibt es? Nach wie vielen Km? Alles andere war perfekt. Die Strecke ist fantastisch, sehr gut gekennzeichnet, die Organisation grossartig. Ich hatte mich zudem unterwegs verletzt und ich wurde top betreut. Vielen Dank an alle Helfenden, Sanität und Arzt. Ich nehme nächstes Jahr gerne wieder teil und werde euren Lauf weiterempfehlen. Great well organized event. Not my first time running this one, and won’t be my last.

Haltemprice 10k 2025 was my very first race so I didn't know what to expect but everything went smoothly and organisers made sure all the runners and spectators were comfortable. I liked the free photos at the end! I've got motivation to sign up for another race, so see you next year!

I love runthrough events always well organised... never any issues... love the runthrough community, the medal Monday on website... It was a great run with great runners...loved it

Some definite issues with organisation and runner safety at the Brewers 10k.

Initially only 3 toilets open for the women, and one of those was blocked by 8:15. Further toilets were eventually opened inside but not long enough before the race to be useful if you wanted to warm up. For a race of this price point, I would expect better toilet provision.

More worryingly, I collapsed on crossing the finish line. It was only a sugar crash and nothing serious, but I couldn't get up, and was left on the floor for some time. There were no marshals other than the photographer, and no medical attention was offered until a spectator got the attention of the Lady Mayor who went and found the St John's Ambulance. It took a few minutes to get help. If there had been a more significant medical incident, that could have had serious consequences.

The 10k course was OK barring the quite long stretch of speed bumps on the out and back section at the start/finish. Parking easy as long as you were happy to be in place until the cut off point - which was only 90 minutes so not really a big deal. The race fee, while high for a short race, did include race photos which is a nice touch.

I am extremely disappointed with how Run Through Events organised the Maidenhead Half Marathon this year. The event caused significant disruption and inconvenience for local residents, showing a real lack of planning and respect for the community.

Parking was an absolute nightmare on Blackamoor Lane, with no proper system in place to manage traffic. Traders began setting up from as early as 4 a.m., and loud music started blaring around 6:30 a.m. — far too early for a residential area. Even worse, several participants were seen urinating in bushes, which is completely unacceptable behaviour.

The road closure signs were placed far too far up the road, forcing confused drivers to turn around in private driveways, causing congestion and damage to residents’ property and vehicles. After the event, the area was left littered with rubbish, showing no care for the environment or those living nearby.

There was also no prior written warning to residents about what to expect, leaving people unprepared for the scale of disruption. Overall, the event was handled very poorly, and it’s clear that Run Through Events needs to show far greater consideration for local residents in future.

No respect, no communication, and no clean-up — very disappointing.

A really well organised event. Everything including on the day registration was so easy. Marshalls brilliant as usual, and to top it all a really lovely medal.

A great event, my 2nd after the Warrington half marathon, both well organised and will definately be taking part in many more

I attended the Cannock Chase 10k previously and really enjoyed it. The addition of urinals for men reduced toilet queues greatly. This time though, it was a let down. The race itself was fine, photography withstanding. A bit congested in areas but that’s down to ignorant participants. My biggest issue was with the parking, about which I raised concerns in the run up and was assured it would be fine. It wasn’t. One entrance down from two and the ‘free’ parking didn’t materialise, I’m still waiting on a response regarding this as £7 is not free. Not good enough.

Very smooth, well organised experience at Run Kent/Tonbridge Half Marathon. Free on course photography and locally themed medal were very nice touches too.

Worked for run-through at this event.
Work was advertised on indeed for x amount and after being let go early with no option to stay, ended up getting half the fee.
More pressingly, the event was incredibly dangerous for some marshalls who were left in the middle of nowhere to deal with the public who were incredibly angry, aggressive and ill-informed about the event. The signage was poor which meant we were alone in having to tell people that they were unable to advance leading to cars pushing past us and driving at speed alongside the runners on what was meant to be a closes road.
You're paid up to 14 working days after the event, which naturally meant you were paid on the 14th day after the event, which is fine.
Just know what you're getting into. Don't put your life at risk for a company that isn't going to pay you what they'd advertised in the first place.
