Unprofessional from pickup to complaint handling. I would not use Riviera Cars again and would advise others to avoid them 🤬😡

I booked and prepaid for an airport transfer with Riviera Cars, only to be left waiting at arrivals for 50 minutes from 12:50 am until 1:40 am.

There was no driver waiting, no driver or vehicle details, no pickup instructions and no update. I had to call the office myself at 12.50am to find out what was happening. I suspect a driver was only arranged after that call, as he told us he had been contacted while finishing his previous job.

The complaint handling was equally poor. After two emails and multiple follow up calls, it took 72 hours to receive a reply. They dismissed the 50 minute wait, failed to address the lack of communication and offered just 10% off a future booking. When challenged, they refused to offer anything further. Their idea of compensation was for us to spend more money with them!?! Shocking!

I recently had the misfortune of dealing with Riviera Cars — an experience that could generously be described as “hostile with a side of GDPR violations.” The staff member I encountered was rude, aggressive, and had all the warmth of a traffic warden in a thunderstorm. He also seemed impressively bilingual, managing to swear at me fluently in two languages. A true overachiever.

As if that wasn’t enough, Riviera Cars appears to treat GDPR like a rough guideline rather than, you know, the law. In their responses to negative reviews, they’ve publicly named individuals and their employers, and even threatened to release private phone recordings — because nothing says “great customer service” like veiled blackmail.

Naturally, they’ll probably respond to this review — as they have to others — by claiming it’s false, fake, or written by a bitter rival with too much time on their hands. Spoiler alert: it isn’t. But do feel free to enjoy the inevitable denial and theatrics.

I’ve already reported their behavior to the Information Commissioner’s Office, and I suggest anyone who receives similar threats or has their personal data exposed does the same.

To sum up: if you’re in the market for a taxi service that’s rude, aggressive, and thinks your personal information is fair game for revenge, Riviera Cars is the one. For everyone else — take literally any other ride.

Prebooked an airport taxi. Turned up 45 minutes late. Pretty useless service and no updates as we had to call them a few times. Chealer getting an Uber.

Taxi was nearly 20 minutes late to collect us despite booking it over an hour in advance. Had to cancel the booking and opt for an Uber instead which arrived in 5 mins. Poor service.
