The tour to Spain and Portugal was well planned …

The tour to Spain and Portugal was well organized. Our tour leader, Nathan was very friendly and rendered a very professional and extra ordinary service. We wish we can have another tour with Nathan sometimes in the future. We will recomend him and Ritz Tours to our family and friends.

Unpleasant business

The tour director Nathan was so so just did his job but not dynamic, low key and not energetic and not ave us details He spoke with low voice. At time I was not sure of what he was talking. I have experienced more focus and energetic tour directors before that would make trip more enjoyable

When I first made inquiry about the $500 promotion I saw no limit and no expiration date. So I booked 8 and next day another 9 but the 9 was only $250 off.

bait customers in and this is not the right way to do business.You should have stated limit to 8 passengers with $500 discount and $250 for the next 10
The tour director Nathan was so so , low key and not dynamic and enthusiastic, low key hard to understand and spoke with a low tone. An enthusiastic director can make the tour more enjoyable and I have met others who are more details

My friend and I had the luxury to have…

My friend and I had the luxury to have gone on a safari in Kenya in December 2021. The guide was fantastic in his knowledge of animals and was accomodating to stay longer at times to take more pictures. We went on a couple of outings that were not scheduled and they were the best. It was once of a lifetime experience as we saw all the animals on our list. Kenyan staff were organized, friendly and helpful. Hotels were absolutely great in their location ( in wilderness). Rooms were very clean and beds were comfortable. Just, at times, the shower did not work well but Ritz has no power over that. Food was good, wine from South Africa was light and palatable. It was probably the best trip I ever went to.

Peru Explorer

I had one of the best experiences with Ritz Tour on their 8 day Peru Tour. The service was exceptional and the tour was well planned. I loved how we didn’t have to wake up extremely early and how the food choices were always delicious. I always felt like they considered our needs and safety. I was always in contact with them and they were very helpful. I couldn’t recommend a better tour. Will definitely be taking more tours with them.

Bangkok/Chiang Mai/Phuket

I had the pleasure of visiting Bangkok, Chiang Mai, & Phuket Thailand and Overall, the trip was good. Of the three places, we enjoyed Phuket and Chiang Mai the best over Bangkok. Bangkok felt a lot like NYC so going on vacation, I really did not want to feel as though I was still in the hustle and bustle of daily life. We were not that impressed with the hotel in Phuket and had to change rooms due to noisy neighbors and a malfunctioned AC unit. Our hotel stay in Chiang Mai Did not have the best breakfast offerings but otherwise, a good trip. The trip was well planned out by Ritz Tours and if I had it to do all over again, I would prefer nicer hotel accommodations in Phuket. The tours to the different temples were informational and an experience to remember. The elephant sanctuary was one of the highlights of the trip that was a pleasure.

I had a wonderful time in China

I had a wonderful time in China. All the tour guides are excellent, specially Jean in Shanghai and Gary in Beijing. They are very knowledgeable and kind. Made everything runs so smooth and accordance to schedule. Highly recommend traveling with Ritz Tour. Planning to sign up for either the Vietnam or Taipei tours with Ritz again next March.

A Good Return Trip

This was an excellent tour covering all of the major tourist sites and cities. We were fortunate to have only 6 travelers and Ritz still conducted the tour. Rather than having one guide with us for the entire itinerary Ritz arranged seperate guides in each city who picked us up, guided us for that city, and took us to check in for our next flight to the next city. It was was well organized and all the guides did a great job. One star is deducted for the food which was good when the choices were local cuisine, but some tourist restaurants on the itinerary served their version of American Chinese food was not to our liking. The Victoria Jenna was a fine riverboat ship and we upgraded to a larger King bed cabin but the Standard is ok. Included shore excursions were ok but you have to pay extra for the additional excursions which is an annoying feature and Ritz should include them. I should mention that I went to China with Ritz 20 years ago and went with them again, and was not disappointed. Their office staff is helpful and answers all of your questions before you depart. They can help with Visas as well. Recommend highly.

China 2019 Ocean's Ohana

My extended family of 10 and our newly acquired family of 10 just finished the 16 day Scenic Yangtze Discovery Tour of China. I must say it was truly magical. I signed up initially to help my parents who signed on with 5 of my mother’s first cousins and spouses. I had no expectations. I didn’t even research one aspect of China. I thought it might be polluted, crowded and restricted. Much to my surprise, China is so beautiful, diverse and has such a rich history. Much of the texture and exquisiteness came from our tour guide Ocean. I don’t think there are words to describe the impact he had on the tour but on us personally. He is such a wealth of knowledge not only about China but American culture; he is professional yet personable and he demonstrates an unwavering work ethic. He was intuitive to our each of our unique needs and made sure no one felt left out of left behind. He somehow always had our group of 20 ahead of the crowds at every venue, activity and restaurant. His timing was impeccable. We hung on every word he said because it was also so interesting and informative. We learned so much about the destinations we were visiting but more importantly about the history of China and how these events led to the creation of the sites we were seeing. In addition to keeping us on schedule and teaching us all about China, he was always working on our next day’s itinerary – making sure reservations were in place, tickets in place, flights on time etc.… He is truly an amazing tour guide. He shared personal stories to help us relate, he shared his comedic and singing talents to keep us entertained and he made us all sincerely feel welcomed and loved in China. He gave us advice on purchases at the many destinations… jade store, silk store, tea store to name a few. He helped us schedule massages for most of our group in one of the towns. Ocean's kind and compassionate nature make him an exceptional person and guide. He quickly melded us into a close, family unit. I don’t think my experience, or my interpretation of China would be the same without his commentary. Everything about the tour was perfect – Ocean, the accommodations, the food, the transportation, the local guides, the weather and the itinerary. The only recommendation I would have is more fresh veggies available for the lunches (difficult with groups, I know). I hope to do another Ritz tours in the near future and would love to have Ocean as our tour guide! Thank you Ocean and Ritz Tours for a magical experience in China.

We recently returned from a 16 day tri

We recently returned from a 16 day trip to China. Our experience was wonderful. The guides were knowledgeable and personable. They took great care of us and made sure everything ran smoothly. They were always there waiting for us at the airport and made sure we got to our next destination. The accommodations were outstanding. We would highly recommend Ritz tours.

Below please find Ritz Tours response to my review. I found it's very formal, not productive. No paying attention to my/our reasons. We were talking about programming the tour, the itinerary, made some valued suggestions to improve it for future tours. The answer was offensive, not cooperative at all. Very frustrating for me personally and all my friends.
The Ritz Tours always answering very meaningless.

And yes, the Samurai show was interactive but the quality was very low. Enjoyable hardly to the toddlers and young kids. Let be realistic.
And the only reason for my reviews - to make future Ritz tours to Japan much better.

"We do apologize if the itinerary fell short of your expectations. We would like to point out that prior to making your reservation all guests have the opportunity to review the itineraries of all our tours available. In regards to the tour package you chose it did not include the visits you mentioned. Unfortunately we did not know prior to your departure that you would like to have visited these locations. If we had known we would have been happy to amend your itinerary, perhaps by adding extra time in Tokyo to visit the sites of your choosing.

We also apologize if the samurai show at Osaka's Samurai Cafe was disappointing. Most of our customers are pleasantly surprised by the quality of the included excursions. With this show's lighthearted interactive approach we understand that this may not be to everyone's liking. Our goal is to pick the best excursions possible during your trip to provide a fulfilling experience."

Not a luxury tour to Japan

When I traveled to China with Ritz Tours everything was perfect, and I recommended it to all my friend when travelling to Japan. Unfortunately it was a big DISAPPOINTMENT.
1. Some cities we visited didn't have local guides. Out tour director hero helped us with all our needs on the trip, but didn't show professional knowledge of history, culture etc.He also didn't have a microphone when we visited temples, so we were not able to hear a word he said.
2. Porter service was not provided in this "luxury" tour. On the last day of our trip we walked with our luggage on the streets to the shuttle bus. And it was raining!
3. In every trip, even in Canada and Alaska, the bus driver brings a bottle of cold water per person per day on the bus. The weather was around 84 degrees and very humid in Japan, so a bottle of water was a necessity.
4. The Tokyo hotel was fine, but the Kyoto and Osaka hotels do not deserve even 4 stars. These over expensive hotels did not give us the impression that we were on a "luxury" tour.

I hope that Ritz Tours will improve on all the above to make their trip to Japan unforgettable.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know what you thought of our service, we really value your feedback as it will assist us in becoming better at what we do. We would like to assure you that we take your concerns very seriously and will look into all the issues that you have raised.

1. You mentioned that some cities did not have local guides. It sounds as though you may be basing your review of Japan off of your experience with us on your China tour. In China we offer the services of local guides in each city and possibly a tour manager if the group size is large enough. In Japan we don't offer local guides as the tour manager is licensed to guide local tours in the cities that you visited. We are sorry for any confusion as we did not mention that we provide local guides in any of the cities. We do, however, provide the service of a tour manager throughout the tour. In addition, the tour manager was unable to use a microphone in temples as it would not be appropriate to speak so loudly while in religious buildings.

2. Your second point of concern is the lack of Porter service. We would like to clarify that we do offer the luxury of a complimentary luggage transfer so you do not have to carry your own luggage during the bullet train journey from Tokyo to Kyoto. Your luggage was delivered to your hotel room directly. You mentioned that you had to carry your luggage to the airport shuttle bus at the Osaka Granvia Hotel on the last day of your tour. While it is correct that you need to cross the street to reach the shuttle pickup, we apologize that we did not make it clear you could have asked the hotel to assist with this short journey. I'm sure they would have been happy to help and offer umbrellas as well; we will ensure our tour managers point this out to clients in the future.

3. We are sorry that you were disappointed we did not offer a water bottle on the bus. We will make a note of this and keep it in mind when planning our next year's itinerary.

4. We are sorry that you were disappointed with the Kyoto New Miyako Hotel and the Osaka Granvia Hotel. We chose these hotels based on their quality and central locations; however we will take into account your comments and keep it in mind when we are planning future itineraries.

We would like to take this opportunity to let you know how much we appreciate your business and how sorry we are to have let you down on this occasion, we hope you will give our company another chance in the future to make it up to you.

The hotels did not seem to be up to…

The hotels did not seem to be up to usual Ritz standards. Some of them needed refurbishing. At one hotel, the robe was neatly folded in a drawer with horrible stains - Miyako Hotels and Resorts. I will try to attach the photo.

Also, some of the tour participants complained that the bathrooms were not cleaned daily.

I personally was offended by the Samuri show which seem to make a joke of the Japanese tradition. I think this should be eliminated from tour.

On the other hand, the food at the restaurants was very good. This was my third Ritz tour and I was somewhat disappointed.
