“While the staff were courteous and pleasant, my overall experience was disappointing. I purchased a second-hand demo vehicle with an agreed collection date, but the car was unavailable as it was being used as a courtesy vehicle. I was informed when purchasing the car, a member of staff had the car. Despite having already arranged insurance and part-exchange for my previous car, I had to use a courtesy car until they could track down the new car. When the car was finally ready, it had additional mileage (2000 miles), had not been cleaned, and still contained personal items from the previous user. The lack of communication and preparation fell short of expectations.”

Absolutely disgusting service,multiple problems with the car,consistently palmed off and told there wasn’t a problem.had a mark on screen inside the car,was my fault.had to email the ceo myself with no response.avoid this company as it’s cost me £2500 to get out of my finance agreement after 18 months.

Our car has gone in to be fixed for the second time in less than 3 weeks. The first time MG had the car for 11 days, we were constantly trying to contact services to find out what the issues were. Contact back was non existent. Lots of promises of we will call back unfortunately, this never happened. We were left without a car as apparently they didn’t have a courtesy car available. Just over a week later and the car is having the same issues (did they even fix it in the first place ?) Glen the manager promised it would be a top a priority to get the issues sorted. 6 days later we are in the same situation, no car, lots of promises of “we will call back”. Countless calls made by us to MG Botley and we still do not know when our car will be returned or what the issues are. This really is the worst service we have ever received from any company. I would avoid buying from this car sales as the customer service is appalling.

We recently upgraded our car with Alfie, couldn’t have been happier with the service that was provided from start to finish. We had quite a bad time on our first purchase so was reluctant to upgrade, MG are lucky to have such a kind and honest sales person.

MG Southampton are absolutely AWFUL for Motability! I advise against using them! Once you have signed you’re treated like dirt. I’ve just had to swap mine over to Portsmouth because they’re so bad! Firstly they never answer the phones, two serious faults with my car and I’ve been told both times ‘they’ve never been reported in MG vehicles’ however if you google they’re common faults. The car never comes back to you clean, they’ve had my car for weeks under trees and it’s a mess. Definitely don’t recommend using your Motability at MG Southampton.

My mum is experiencing the worst situation with MG BE AWARE - STAY AWAY FROM MG

LISA- Aftercare is absolutely awful. Have a Electric vehicle which was in the showroom. Have been experiencing issues with the battery ever since driving it off the forecourt, I pay monthly for my servicing and phoned up to book this in around JUNE 2025 after receiving my reminder email to book for july 2025, to be told it wasn't due for another year. Now 3 months down the line my car wont charge, I've been locked out of it and unable to use it, have been in touch with MG for help and have been told to bring the vehicle down even though I was unable to get into the car let alone use it, by the time I could use the car id take it down to MG in botley and because the fault isn't there when I arrive Im told there's nothing they can do. I am now stranded in preston on detached duties through HMP winchester with no way to work, no way to return home, Ive had the AA out multiple times to be told its the 12v battery failing. Reported this to MG and now im being told I missed a service, even though I was told BY THE MANAGER AT MG BOTLEY that my service was not due till 2026!!! Now I have apparently invalidated my warranty. They've left me bent over a barrel with no consideration for the situation I am in, no aftercare or sympathy for the troubles im experiencing. Im paying for a car that isn't fit for purpose, doesn't work and although I pay for a services monthly I am now not eligible for help because my vehicle is 8 days out of service. I am absolutely appalled by MG in botley, MG's customer service and the mannerism of which I have been dealt with. I am now looking to recover my car from preston to botley MG's forecourt!!!

Excellent service by all the staff at Botley. Appreciated Elise's assistance and knowledge of the car we were buying. A really good experience. Having visited a nber of dealers, Richmond came out on top

As always I have had first class service from Himat and Andrea whilst purchasing a car for my daughter. Always a pleasure buying from Richmond who do not force me into a sale and listen to my needs.

Had great experience purchasing my MG from Richmond's. Apart from the final pick up everything was done remotely as I am 2 hours away from the dealership. Jag, my salesman, was brilliant and kept me updated with everything and answered all my questions and addressed any concerns I had. I would highly recommend this dealership.

I must say a big thanks to Jagdeep for his professional, personal and friendly approach in helping us through the process of buying our new car. He kept in touch with us all the way through and patiently spent ages going through all the new things the car has - not an easy task when showing a technophobe like me!!!!

Himat has been so helpful and easy to deal with, we felt that he was trying to find the best option for us and what we needed, and he delivered the car in time for our trip away. Everyone at Richmond MG are so friendly when we come in for servicing etc, and they are so nice to our dog too :)
