Sadly, not vegan, not cruelty free
I purchased the toner from John Bell & Croydon while on holiday in London last week. I thought it was exquisite but what sold me was the quality assurance of the Leaping Bunny, Organic Soil Association and Vegan stamps. Keen to buy more I looked up the Rhug Estate on line and to my absolute horror discovered that Rhug Wild Beauty is from a farm estate that kills animals for meat and sickeningly is a shooting estate! Not vegan at all! The immorality of passing these products off as cruelty free is very disturbing. The comments below, of customers lauding the ‘cruelty free’ status shows how they have been duped. I was duped, by the packaging into believing that I had found a high end, pure product, but my money has gone to prop up the murder of wildlife and animal slaughter which is most likely halal slaughter as all organic meat is these days. No vegan/animal lover in their right mind would support this. I will be writing to the soil association and the other organisations and every vegan magazine to warn people of this scam against them. If we can’t trust the quality stamps, we are doomed.

First of all, we wish to apologies for the distress you clearly felt over this misunderstanding.
However, I can assure you that Rhug Wild Beauty is 100% Certified Cruelty Free, 100% Certified Organic, and although not all our products are Vegan; the ones that are genuinely 100% Vegan.
It is true that we are lucky enough to be located on the beautiful Rhug Estate and it is also true that that estate, like other companies and enterprises, has other interest; such as organic and sustainable farming. However, we are an independent company and what's more the certifications we have (Leaping Bunny, Organic and Vegan) are completely genuine. What’s more, those certifying bodies take their responsibilities very robustly and we have been audited thoroughly be each of them.
You (and all our customers) can trust those certifications and what they stand for; and we are very proud of that fact.
