Inefficient and Unprofessional
I was invited to a casual, non-committal conversation about a job opportunity at Recruit IT. The meeting was postponed at the last minute, and when it finally took place, it became clear that the expectations were anything but informal.
Although it was presented as a relaxed conversation, I was expected to have prepared an in-depth presentation of myself, without any prior notice. Naturally I hadn’t done this, and it was met with surprise and a condescending attitude.
The recruiter, who claimed to have many years of experience in the IT industry, asked if my degree in Computer Science even included software-related courses. This showed a lack of understanding of the program’s content and the industry as a whole.
The meeting lasted less than ten minutes, after which I was interrupted and given a condescending lecture about how poorly prepared I was, based on an expectation they themselves had failed to communicate clearly. This happened despite them having access to my CV, where my technical skills are clearly listed.
My impression is that Recruit IT is just another inefficient middleman with no real understanding of the technical profiles they’re trying to match.
Don’t waste your time with them. Apply directly to employers who know what they’re looking for.
