Good communication, everyone we encountered throughout the process was polite, and the fitters were exceedingly tidy- you almost couldn't tell they had done anything, it was so tidy!
Would highly recommend.

A reliable service from start to finish. Installers arrived as scheduled and were friendly and informative throughout the process. Time will tell on the claimed 75% improvement on thermal efficiency, but I have no cause to doubt it. Highly recommended and much easier than having to empty each room and lift all the floorboards.

The house is much warmer now!!
We have an old Victorian house with draft and cold coming through our floor boards. We simply couldn't get the rooms up to temperature. The house has got noticeably warmer since the installation of the under-floor insulation by Q-bot.
The work was professionally done and all the installers were polite and efficient. Have recommended Q-bot to my son who has a similarly draughty house up in Newcastle.

We have a 50 year old single storey house in the countryside, just south of Dublin. We had no insulation under the 330 sq meters of suspended timber floors. That’s circa 40% percent of the external exposed envelope and a significant surface for heat loss. We had already pumped the walls, upgraded the glass and the roof. Insulation under our floors was the last piece of the jigsaw. I was nervous about the access hatches because we have lovely solid maple floors in a lot of our house.

The Q-Bot crew were very professional and courteous. They consulted us on the location of all access hatches, circa one per room. The installation took a few days because of the large area. Disruption to us during the process was a minor inconvenience. Some furniture had to be moved for a few hours and windows kept open (in January) for extra ventilation. The Q-Bot team were very tidy and gave us back our house every evening. We never felt that we were living on a building site!

The void was 350mm under the floor joists so manual spraying was impractical. The conventional method of retro insulation by taking up every floorboard was unthinkable and would have meant moving out with our furniture and renting somewhere. The final result is a very well insulated house and barely discernible access hatches. Thank you Q-Bot!

I had underfloor insulation installed which all went ok in August 2022
The issue came when Qbot installed my bathroom fan whick I was not aware of until the day
They did not warn me of the mess from drilling into the brick therefore all my items were covered, they made no attempt to clean the mess up
My fan was installed in august and I was told 2 weeks for it to be connected. Eventually it was connected in November after I had to chase them when they cancelled appointments
The fan has not been installed correctly and is rattling of which I have reported to Q bot on a number of occasions
Again I was told I would get a call on 21/11 and now on 25/11 I am still waiting
Therefore I want nothing to do with Qbot now and will pay for someone to correct the fan

The q-bot service was faultless from start to finishing the job. The survey was reasonably comprehensive although readers should be aware that q-bot, like all insulation installers, use standardised calculations to estimate the heat savings. These may over or under-estimate the benefit you might get, so hence the title of the review - we'll wait to see what our heating bills look like this winter.

But on the face of it, the savings should be significant. About a third of the area sprayed is bare floorboards and I know from putting a hand by one of the airbricks just how much air is moving under the floor from one side of the house to the other. Now the moving air will be taking rather less heat out of our property.

The q-bot team used a combination of the robot & manual spraying under the floors to complete the job that took a bit longer due to a compressor breaking down. But at all times the crew were polite, informative, worked really hard and left the house completely tidy at the end of each day. I was able to watch the progress via the camera fitted to the robot and, post treatment, the suspended floors feel much more solid and any echo present when walking on the bare floorboards has gone.

Overall the installation experience was as good as it gets and full credit to the q-bot crew for doing an excellent job.

I found Q-Bot to be a great company to deal with.
Their installation team were very professional & helpful at all times, and were very tidy inside and out of the house. They explained what they were doing and went to great lengths to access all the areas under our floor and complete the installation.
It's autumn now and already we are feeling the benefits of the underfloor insulation as our house retains heat for so much longer, and the drafts are gone! I consider the job to be good value considering the time and effort it took.

From start to finish our experience of using Q-Bot was of a very professional company, from initial phone contact, to surveyor to installers, nothing was too much trouble. The installation was extremely smooth, everything was explained in detail, they were very polite & after they finished, you wouldn't have known they'd even been in, as they replaced the flooring perfectly & with great care & cleaned up exceptionally well.
I can't recommend this company more highly.

Have been tracking the technology for nearly ten years and would have installed earlier if the Green Homes Scheme had not been such a mess. The company were very professional at all times and both survey and installation personnel were careful, considerate and civil. Even in high summer, there is a clear difference in the level of draught and I expect to see a significant reduction in winter heat loss.

Organising the appointment was simple and the contacts very helpful, providing a clear plan of how the work would be completed.
The floors was completed surprisingly quickly with the minimum of disruption. The rooms involved were left clean and tidy with the carpets and furniture replaced.
The two rooms involved were completed in a morning.
My wife and I were very impressed by the attitude and friendliness of the operatives completing the work. They explained the process and progress as the work progressed.

The Bot did not work. The survey of the area they were going to spray was reduced by 50% as the insulation was undertaken by a man laid on his back under the floor. So half the house was left without insulation. Had to fight to get a reduction in the price. Very unsatisfactory result.

Fantastic Service and very reasonable price!

I had some builders insulate parts of my house which q-bot could not do. The builders took 4 times longer, it created much more mess and dust and was much more disruptive than q-bot while costing more too.

q-bot came, finished the work within 1 day with minimal disruption, a very pleasant team and service and an amazingly innovative technology.

All in all, I was very impressed and would highly recommend them.

This is an impressive system and the team were very helpful and responsive. I did decide to prepare for the survey very carefully, giving inspection access to the four different underfloor areas that I wanted insulated. This was because I wanted to see what sort of problems the surveyor might encounter - I didn't want to spend £90 on a survey only to be told that it was not possible. This preparation was also useful for me - I found a gas pipe that could have been a concern - and the surveyor was appreciative of the preparation. The surveyor was also very helpful in suggesting ways that we might get access to a hardwood covered floor that I did not want to damage. In the end, I decided that I had to cut an access in the hardwood (Q-Bot quite understandably do not offer to cut access in this specific situation). He looked at access from outside and a complicated method gaining access from another room - I had the impression that if there had been a way to do it, he would have found it!

Installation went smoothly over two days, although the operators had some minor robot problems on the second day. My only disappointment was that they were not able to seal the area along two of the four sides of each room; this was for the good reason that I had deep 200mm joists and they ran too close to the wall to allow insulation to be sprayed into the narrow gap to seal between the joist and wall. As a result, Q-Boot were unable to give me the complete floor seal that I would have liked.

I had previously done one room myself, using PIR board and scrambling around in the shallow crawl space. I was very happy not to do this for these four rooms!

Why not 5 stars? Well, it is quite an expensive system and I would have liked to have had a completely sealed floor at the end of the process. Otherwise, I was very happy and would recommend this system.

Once we got the survey booked in the whole process and experience was great and very easy. All the team were extremely friendly and helpful and patient in explaining what would happen and was going on. They cleared up really well and we are really happy with the result.

As you will gather from other reviews Q-Bot charge you £90 to carry out a survey but what you need to understand is
1. you do not get a written report, or even a verbal report on their findings. Not what I call a survey.
2. merely a quote, which in my case was that they could only insulate under one out of 5 rooms on the ground floor
3. In my case it was evident that they had only inspected under 2 out of the 5 rooms.
4. they lacked the necessary technology to inspect where they could not get line of sight access.
5. they reject rooms even if they have got access even if there is a small amount of rubble there.
6. they do not have the courtesy to reply when you query their unsupported quote.
All in all a VERY unprofessional organisation IMHO.

Although it was a very last minute survey Q-Bot helped us to get the application in (5 minutes!) before the scheme stopped accepting the estimates. We were very impressed with the original surveyor and also with the two fitters who were very considerate and professional in their work. Where they had to get access under the floors we can't really see now where it was. The results now it's autumn are really impressive, no draughts through the floorboards (no need for heating yet!) and a much quieter house and much reduced road noise. All the paperwork needed was provided by Kristan. Excellent work, thanks again!

Dreadful!
Based on my experience i would strongly advise not using Qbot.
Despite a written commitment to pay for and install ventilation, so that my property, with an open fire,meets Building Reg standards this has never been done. I reminded the fitters twice and was told someone would return to retro-fit. After a number of months i'm still waiting. I've spoken with a building regs officer who has confirmed it must be done. So i will now arrange and pay that myself.

Post installation i decided to check under the floor - The bungalow rooms are in an L shape layout, i decided to check if the room at "foot" of the L had been sprayed with insulation by their robot team. We drilled a hole and inserted a camera to find no foam around the drill hole (we did check the easy straight part of the property and as soon as we drilled through foam appeared). So it looks like part of what should have insulated was not done.

In terms of the spraying process i understood from the survey, the installers would use an existing hatch in a hallway cupboard to access the void. The reality was a bedroom carpet been lifted, two new hatches cut through and a carpet chucked back down, no longer with fitted edges. A corner plinth was also knocked off a wardrobe during fitting - no apology just a half arsed attempt to glue back on.

I've let Kristian know these problems and despite being told i would relieve a call back that day, nearly a month later i've still not heard from them. a

Cowboys - don't use them.

I recently had Q-bot install underfloor insulation into my home. The process from start to finish was handled with efficiency and the friendly team at Q-bot were a delight to deal with. Special thanks go to Kristian who kindly assisted me navigating the mine field of dealing with a government body in regards to completing the GHG voucher (and all the issues that arose due to GHG's inability to process my claim correctly) - no fault could be apportioned to Q-bot in this respect and without Kristian's help and advice, I doubt I would have been able to take advantage of the voucher scheme due to the GHG body not being able to correctly process their own scheme correctly. I look forward to having a warmer home thanks to Q-bot's insulation.

Great team - worked quickly and very friendly too. As it's summer I can't say how much of a difference the insulation will make but it is very well sprayed!

Edit: A little update in 2024 - house is definitely warmer and I now have a heat pump, which works much better because there are now no draughts coming through the floorboards. Thanks QBot!
