Avoid like the plague :)
It is with great pleasure that I write this review, knowing I will never have to deal with premier student homes again. I was a tenant with PSH from July 2023/2024, and can honestly say this is the worst experience I have ever had with a landlord. From rats and black mould to electric shocks from the appliances, we have had countless issues throughout our tenancy, many of which are extreme health and safety issues.
To name a few:
- [ ] A water leak from the first floor shower, reported several weeks into our tenancy, still leaking when we left. There were over 16 maintenance requests, and the shower room was not usable for the majority of our tenancy. This was obviously an issues previously, as a portion of the ceiling had been replastered (they tried to tell us it was our responsibility as it was due to the sealant in the shower). They then fixed the ceiling before we moved out, and after I questioned them about it still leaking, I was told to keep quiet as I only had a week left on my tenancy, and that it would be the next tenants issue!
- [ ] Black mould in the bedrooms and the ceiling due to the water leak
- [ ] Having to pay £80 for the neighbours rubbish being on our side of the property when we left the property (We had photo evidence that there were two piles of rubbish, and they said that technically we can’t prove that the pile of bags infront of the neighbours house wasn’t ours, and suggested we should have videoed us taking our rubbish out!)
- [ ] £80 charge for 3 blutac marks on the walls!
- [ ] Ridiculous times to respond to emails and issues, only to met with the same excuses of “we are very busy”. It’s easy for me to say, but shouldn’t you employ more staff if it’s taking you a fortnight to reply to emails?
The staff themselves are nice and easy to get along with, but don’t be fooled by this. This company is after your money, and will provide shoddy houses which are minimally maintained until you move out, so that it is the next people’s problems. There is always an excuse and it is never there problem.
Do yourselves a favour and AVOID PREMIER STUDENT HOMES LIKE THE PLAGUE
