the WORST
the WORST! would not let me sign up by requiring but not sending me a verification money. talked to snippy customer "service" person who claimed that they did not service Citibank because it was SECOND TIER! Must get Citibank to set up. Basically, the money was lost - Popmoney probably KEPT it because it surely was NOT at Citibank!

Pop money has a website that states it is "secure". A wonderful criminal just used Pop Money to commit fraud on my back account. There is nonsense about an account holder being "notified" of a transfer. All lies. They will not offer any assistance and therefore are assisting the criminal. Somewhere in the middle they made money. Why are companies like this allowed to operate???
STAY AWAY FROM POPMONEY!!!!!!!!
Why is there no provision for ZERO STARS?? Popmoney would certainly qualify. My wife tried to send me 600.00 using Popmoney for the first time We were unaware of the terrible reputation of this company. We should gave checked the reviews first. As expected the whole thing crashed on my end. The app just spins forever and never loads. No one to answer the phone on Sat. and now I find out that there is a very intrusive process that has to be performed tonset up an account to receive money. Personal info thar I am not going to give out She tried to cancel the transaction with no success. Save yourself some grief Dont walk away- RUN LIKE HELL!!!! This is a problematic low rent outfit that is a problem waiting to happen. The fees are cheap for a very good reason READ THE REVIEWS. They are 90% bad for very good reasons. Paypay and Venmo are not perfect by any means but at least you can set them ip easily without having to jump through 50 hoops and they do work sending money immediately most of the time instead of waiting days and maybe a week or more ti complete transfer if there us any kind of hiccup which is very likey according to the reviews here. Learn from my mistake... Read the reviews before you use any unknown company or app off yhe internet Zniw we have to wait for 2 days until Monday to see what is involved with cancelling this transaction and hopefully getting our money back. BEWARE!!!
Decepttive
Someone wired money to me from their PNC bank account. Popmoney asked that i create an account before i could collect the money. I didn't want to share my personal and financial info with another shadowy online org. I had no choice but to comply. PNC never said to my person that i'd need to create an account with Popmoney. In fact, PNC said the person was sending the money via Zelle, not with some poopmoney thing that i'd never heard of before. Quite decptive

On 11/27 I tried to send money to my landlord on 12/02, which included three business days for the transaction. The service rep literally told me that if I wanted to send my money on this date that I should not use their service....enough said.
Their customer service eventually figured it out.
As a landlord
As a landlord, POP money is terrible I refuse to accept it
You guys are the biggest joke ever
You guys are the biggest joke ever. You guys are either too stupid or don't see that your app is a joke. Why roll out something when none of your reps don't know a damn thing about it or how to help. My account was all validated and verify and then a week later it got suspended indefinitely. Reason why? We don't know why because we haven't figure that out either. What some clowns, you think that as big of a company like fiserv you would have done of the best technology to make this app run smoothly.
I'm done.
A tenant asked to pay for rent via Popmoney. I was skeptical because I don't trust these types of things and expected it to be a hassle and sure enough...I received the first rent payment well enough after some confusion with signing up, but my account was promptly closed a week later with no explanation why. I was notified of this in FOUR separate emails. You know, quantity over quality. Popmoney customer service was pleasant enough but unable to tell me why the cancellation, just that I was no longer able to use Popmoney. Okay, no loss to me, but odd. Thought maybe I would reply to the cancellation emails to try and find out what's going on but I can't, because they were "no reply" emails. To email them I would need to log in to my account...which I can't do... because... it's... suspended. Well done Popmoney.
Popmoney likes to keep your money while suspending your account.
I would love to give Popmoney a 0, but it's not an option. I have been using Venmo for a while, but when a friend had to send us a reimbursement, he said he had to use Popmoney. Boy, was this a mess. First, the app does not work on ipads. Not as an app, nor on Safari. Second, they are limited in how much you can send on a daily basis. Not really a problem, only you just have to adjust for this. The biggest issue came when they decided that my account needed to be suspended (because they didn't trust my identity, but I found this out later).
I created the account, using my own credentials. I used a checking account that had my name and my spouse's name. I logged into the account and performed the bank verification, and received a notification from Popmoney that it was successful. THEN, my friend sent the money. Popmoney must have decided that perhaps they wanted to hold on to the money, because they then suspended my account - no reason given. I had to call and ask them why. Gee, they had no idea, and someone would have to look into it. It would take 4-5 days they say. A week later, I get a message that I had to send identification - DL or passport AND a recent bank statement. Uh, no. Just no.
I would rather have payments sent via snail-mail. In the end, it's faster, less stress, and best of all, free of charge!
One star - because zero isn't an option
Only giving one star because zero isn't an option. After many calls with my credit union, I got it to work last month to pay a landlord living abroad. This month, I started early to be sure my rent won't be late due to PopMoney problems and to account for daily limits. But no - the full amount can't be transferred for FOUR DAYS. Where is Pony Express when you need it? The Merchant Marine? ANYTHING would be faster than this garbage, but it's all my CU offers.

I had $500 sent to me by a friend the money has been in limbo for nine days now the only response I get from Popmoney is we’re having technical issues and they don’t know how long it will take to fix it the money has now been returned and I have to go through other means to retrieve it pop money for lack of better terms sucks
I wish I would have read reviews before…
I wish I would have read reviews before using this service. It was offered on Landmark Bank website so I just assumed it would be acceptable. Not at all. I'm now on call number 5 after being routed between Landmark and Popmoney all day. The representative just told me they have now approved release, blaming popmoney for emailing the wrong person. Who knows. This took way more time than just going to the bank and sending a wire.
Sent money via the phone app and…
Sent money via the phone app and retired out. In addition their website down. $500.00 lost in limbo. Called customer service and they said they are aware of the problem but because of technical problems on their end the money Will take up for 5 business days for a refund. NEVER use this company
Don't use this service
Don't use this service, I thought they were cool because it was through my bank but no. Golden 1 you need to drop this ASAP.
mixed bag
The good :
Just about every bank or credit union in the U.S. accepts it, even for small business accounts.
Debit card transactions are fast and reliable
The bad : there are incredible issues with transfers from bank accounts to bank accounts to the point that it's useless .
debit card transactions carry a fee.
If your credit institution ( or that of your customers if you are small business) offers Zelle, do not bother. If you chose to use it, do only debit card transactions.

As of right now I've been on hold for 35 minutes with "customer service". I must've been told that "my call is important to them" at least 100 times. They are affiliated with my bank so I don't have much choice. (Cambridge Savings Bank). I instructed PopMoney to make monthly recurring payments. They are making payments inconsistently. (anywhere from every 2-3 weeks). This is a nightmare.
I work for a bank that uses popmoney
I work for a bank that uses popmoney. I will never recommend this product. I used it once so that I could see how difficult it would be for our customers to use. It was an absolute joke how many hoops you had to jump through to receive the money. Too bad I’m not the one one who decides why we offer this product. It would be gone yesterday if I was.
DO NOT USE! BEWARE
DO NOT USE!! When you cancel a transaction on the same day that you make a request, they do not refund your money!!! They keep the transaction fee which is expected, and your money. I made a transaction request, cancelled within minutes of making the request, and I have not received my money almost a year later!!! They are a scam. I have spoken with several people from the company. Everyone says that they will resolve the issue, but no one has!! Every time I have spoken with someone I have been given a different answer on where the money went!! BEWARE!!!

Every time after I am verified the send money to family is put on hold and takes days to have them research what happened. I cant for the life of me see how this company stays in business. Contacting the receiving bank to have them switch to Zelle.
I wish I could give this company zero…
I wish I could give this company zero stars. I attempted to registered on app, had issues, finished registration on website (which was different than app). App still did not show completed registration. Somehow, after going back and forth, and back and forth, funds deposited first time--> VERY CUMBERSOME process to get there. Attempted to use again. App said it could not deposit and I should go to "alerts", except there are no alerts under the app profile. Again, go to website, and it tells me I have three alerts. Jump through hoops, one alert taken care of. Second alert says they've deposited two small amts of money into my acct (never happened), and I'm told to just keeping checking my bank acct until they deposit (which never happened), 3rd alert is that the account is on hold. Called them, and they have to put a ticket into their IT team, or something of the equivalent.
Summary: 1.) They hold onto funds for a very long time before transferring them. 2.) Registration is wildly cumbersome, and then they seem to make excuses to further hold onto funds. 4.) Their app and website stink, 5.) They make it hard to remedy any issues with them holding your funds. 6.) Your bank will not help you fix this.
Everything about this feels like a SCAM. Going back to Zelle and not looking back.
