WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!. I had a $1650 automatic payment scheduled. I cancelled it. They paid it anyway and I had to get the money back from the person. Long story short: for three months I kept cancelling and Pop Money kept scheduling. My bank talked to them multiple times and told me it was cancelled. Then Pop Money notifies me that it has been scheduled AGAIN! In frustration, my bank filed a stop payment. Pop money notified me that my account had been frozen, and I should call customer service to unfreeze. I called - 21 minutes of listening to how important my call was to them. Finally a human answered and I would be transferred to the correct person. Eight more minutes of telling me how important my call is. Finally, a fifteen minutes with a person to un-freeze, just to be told that I would have to go back online and cancel that same payment again. Use PayPal. They seem to be organized and actually care about their clients and they don't charge you to send money.
Worst app ever
Worst app ever. Bank charges you fee for service not provided with this app. BBVA bank and app just steal your money. Do not recommend any of them.

They want bank statements, and government photo IDs after you have given them a bank routing number and account number and called them and this is to receive a paltry amount

Horrible service! New account put on hold for no reason. Can't deposit my money. On hold for over an hour and still not resolved. Now I am getting texts that the money sent is about to expire and I need to deposit! Ha! I wish I could.....customer service sucks. Do I sound frustrated???
There must be a better way to send money and I will find it!

This company is absurd. Someone sent me money using popmoney.
Horribly glitchy mobile application. Spent over an hour on hold, as they immediately put my new account on "hold" for some reason.
Finally, upon getting through, the representative couldn't solve the problem, told me I had to use a laptop rather than mobile device to change my primary email address and proceeded to tell me it was my fault as there was an error with my email, and she didn't know how to solve it. What?!!!
I am so furious & frustrated. Never a problem with paypal, venmo, etc -- this is the lowest grade company.
The sender of the money can't cancel this transaction now either. Grrrrr!!!
Now I am on hold for a second time, as there is no other option so resolve this issue online.
Don't use pop money unless you don't want your money to get there.
I have tried to use pop money to pay a couple of people. Each time they freeze my account and then I cannot cancel the transaction. It would be easier and faster to write a check and mail it and pray that the U.S. Postal Service does not lose it.
My account is still locked from my transactions. My bank cannot get through to pop money to lift the hold on my account. The pop money people just tell you that the "back room" has to release the hold, but they never do. This is a horrible service if you have to pay more than $500 to someone. Send a check instead!
Six days to receive the money!
Six days to receive the money is an unbelievable amount of time! I have worked in banking for many years and know that money moves very quickly these days. They are making money by holding onto it for an extended amount of time. I would much rather use Zelle or Paypal, where in my experience the transfer is immediate. I want the interest my money is making for myself!
On hold for over 2 hours
On hold for over 2 hours. Click link on email and says I already have a profile- true. However, when I log in money is not there. Nothing on their FAQ or anywhere online about this issue. I have a business and was planning to use this to receive payments. Now telling clients to avoid- like the plague. Zelle is easy, Popmoney sucks!!!!

-5 star rating, I got my debit card stolen and the person who stole it used this app (which I’ve never heard of) to send themselves $400, which is a large amount to me during this time of crisis. When I called customer service the lady was very rude, said there is nothing they can do about it and acted like I was an inconvenience whenever I asked her questions. After waiting 49 minutes on hold, I was very let down leaving the conversation after 5 minutes WITH NO HELP AT ALL. This app will not last very long, if you’re thinking about using it DONT. I promise it is not worth your time and hassle.

If I could give zero stars I would. They charged me a fee for a transfer they didn't even make. I am out here working during a pandemic as an essential employee and the last thing I need is this sham servjce stealing the measly earnings I do make and making me and my family go hungry. Terrible, terrible service. Wouldn't recommend to anyone!
Very poor service ..
Very poor service ... expect a week for delivery when they say "next day".
Transaction remains under review for two days and then another day for release.
The point was to get next day delivery...not possible with popmoney.
Also not possible to cancel transaction while it is under review...for 3 days.
1 800 support line was busy signal for 10 minutes and then 30 minute hold time.
Someone needed to send me money a few…
Someone needed to send me money a few years ago, and the person's bank used Popmoney. I had never heard of them before, but I signed up for it so I could get my money. Three or four years later, the same person needed to send me money again. The person was with a different bank at that time, but the new bank still used Popmoney. I never received notice of the money, and as I tried to sign into my account to find out what was going on, I found I had no more account according to their website. I was still with the same bank, yet, I had to sign up ALL OVER AGAIN for Popmoney. It took at least 2 weeks to get my money.
Once again today, the same person needed to send me some money. I received notice that the money has been sent. It is still processing, and I have a feeling it will be a MINIMUM of 10 days to receive my money. In fact, I will not be surprised if it takes two full weeks or more. That is unreasonable.
I want to know, since the money is sent by the same sender to the same receiver (me), and since i have not changed bank account, why should it take this long to get my money?
I belled them this afternoon for answers to my questions. I have been on hold for 15 minutes. Not sure I will hold much longer. This is so frustrating. You can believe the reviews that say that the time it takes to receive money is unreasonably long, and customer service is poor.
I have used Zelle before, and I must say it is a much better way to transfer funds compared to Popmoney, but I think there must be an even better way somewhere.
In the time it takes to get my money from Popmoney, the sender could have sent me a personal cheuqe, and I could have used my bank's app to deposit the cheque. The funds would be transferred within 3 days if not sooner of my receipt of a paper cheque, so how is Popmoney any better than just sending a cheque to someone? Popmoney is slow. It is cumbersome. Customer service is difficult to reach. No reasonable reason is ever given why it takes so long to get the money sent you. Popmoney is just a miserable "service," period.
One other thing I find irritating is the repetitive voiceover on their customer service number. You hold a long, long time, and you are forced to listen to music. you would rather not listen to, and then the music is periodically interrupted by the same message over and over and over again. Why not offer an option to wait in silence? Seriously, what makes them think everyone will like that music? Even if you like it, after 15 or minutes of the same music punctuated by the same annoying message, you get bloody tired of that music and that message.
I would not recommend Popmoney to anyone other than an enemy. This is one of the worst services I have ever used. Waiting 2 weeks to receive money after you have had an account with them for months and months is ridiculous. I do not operate a service like Popmoney, but I bet if I did operate one, I could do a heck of a lot better job than they do! My dog could do a lot better job than they do!
Tired of holding. I am hanging up now. From now on, if the person needs to send me money, I will tell them to send me a cheque. No more Popmoney!
From what I could find on-line, Popmoney is located in NY, NY and was founded by someone named Sanjeev Dheer and developed by CashEdge, now part of Fiserv. Fiserv's acquisition of CashEdge necessitated integration between Fiserv's Zashpay P2P service and Popmoney. Prior to acquisition, Zashpay had more than 1,400 financial institutions signed up. Popmoney retained fewer financial institutions, but those that it did were significantly larger. That is about all I could find out. I know nothing about Fiserv or Zashpay. Popmoney was designed to facilitate faster transfers of funds between people and thus make paper cheques redundant. Frankly, I do not think it does. I can receive a paper cheque in the post, deposit it into my bank account, and receive the money faster than through Popmoney. Paper cheques take about 4 days to complete the transfer. Popmoney takes at minimum a solid 7 days, sometimes 14 days. If you need money fast, Popmoney is definitely not a viable choice.
The customer service number is next to worthless, as many other reviewers have said, and how would you be able to contact Mr. Dheer? No one knows. This is not a transparent company at all. Some reviewers have stated that their money stayed tied up in limbo for long periods of time. If this happens to you, I suggest you file complaints with your state's Attorney General's Office for Consumer Protection, and AFTERWARD, you can file a complaint with the BBB. If the attorney general's office accumulates enough complaints, they will go after Popmoney and Mr. Sanjeev.

I would give a zero if it had one this is a very horrible way to send money don't use it. Zella is way better, you get your money instantly. someone sent me money and it's taking a week already and you can't even use that app, It's too hard to get on it and then they said that they're looking into it by an email . Bed service, very bad.

I would leave -4 stars if possible. A terrible app with miserable customer service. Payments take an unreasonably long time to complete. Limit of $500/transfer. Technical problems with adding account information and no knowledgeable tech support. Popmoney is the only option my bank offers and I will make it my mission to see that they dump it in favor of another.

It took a week to get my money
It took a week to get my money. They sent me money on the 6th but they're website was very difficult to log in, finally on the 7th it went through and they said that I'll get my money in a week! Horrible service. But then you lied saying the money has been deposited on the 9th? What kind of company are you?
Gone downhill
Have used it a couple of times and they were good, but it appears they are hurting. Had a client who has paid me this was before pay me again and it has taken 6 days to release the money. They even used the debit card option, which on their site says 24-48 hours. It appears they are sitting on money to earn interest on it before transferring the cash. I had to postpone medical procedure at cost to me because they aren't following their own guidelines to earn a little bit more on the money. When I spoke to my bank about this (they first tried to blame my bank) they said this is the reason they migrated from pop to zelle. Too many customer complaints about this. Pop hasn't even started the transfer process with them after 96 hours but blamed my bank, but the bank doesn't even have it as a pending transaction yet.

Just received excellent customer service! I'm a very happy customer! I had a small problem signing up so gave them a call... their phone number was easy to find. Because I called later in the afternoon, I wondered if I would get a live person. Not only did I get a live person, there was no long phone wait whatsoever, and the gentleman I spoke with was very patient, gave me clear and easy to follow instructions, and made sure I was well taken care of before saying goodbye.

Popmoney won't take my business - and even won't say why!
After 1 week, without having the chance to make a single transfer with popmoney, I received this email: "After additional review of your eligibility, we have restricted your access to Popmoney services." My credit score is stellar. I have thousands in my checking. I have never been rejected for a credit card or a loan. The customer service person cannot tell me what is wrong. I had done all their verification steps: bank account, email, phone. What a loss of time. I am sorry that I gave them my personal information. My motivation to do business with popmoney is that they seemed to be the only service offering automatic recurring transfers between individuals. I wanted to automatically send every month a fixed amount to my son in college. Bank of America offer a service sending paper checks. Other services like Zell would be perfect, but they do not offer recurring transfers; only manual. Something is wrong with popmoney - and they won't even tell me what.
