You’ll visit three charming, back-roads wineries and be served a picnic lunch in an idyllic winery setting. Amazing day.
Would book with Platypus again without hesitation on any of their tours. From booking to execution it was flawless. And love the name.
Casey is the perfect driver. Tons of knowledge, great personality. (PT, have new drivers shadow him to learn how to do the job properly)
He picked 3 fantastic wineries to visit.
Bus was great. U shaped couch helped make friends for the day.
For guests: at the last winery my wife bought Casey a bottle of wine. He said it was the first time anyone did that. I’m shocked. Be better, people. She shouldn’t be the last.

Already visited first vineyard
Unfortunately, we had visited the first vineyard (Sangiacomo) the day before. It is only 6 minutes out of Sonoma and very popular. We had tasted and bought win already so this was an unfortunate waste of our time. Sangiacomo is not the usual choice for Platypus which touts being smaller and unknown. We don’t think you shouldn’t go to this vineyard since there is a very good chance that someone staying in Sonoma has visited. It was very disappointing.

Hi Kristi, Thank you for letting us know how your day went, I am truly sorry you repeated at Sangiacomo. We do ask guests to let us know if they are visiting places while in the area. We try to avoid places where guests are visiting on their own. We did have two buses in the Sonoma area on the day you visited if we had known ahead of time we could have taken you to a different area of the valley. I hope you will give us another chance to show you around please reach out if there is anything else you wish to share.

My wife and I truly enjoyed our experience with Platypus Tours and our guide Steve. Steve kept the tour lively, fun, and still managed to provide just the right amount of “wine knowledge” for us to begin to digest some of the complexities around wine selections and what we like.

Great Way to Experience Napa
The small group wine tour was perfect! Met amazing people and went to several wonderful wineries. Lunch, company, the tour and our host were all fantastic. And they picked us up from our Airbnb property. Highly recommend this great tour!!

Our day with Gary was the best
Our day with Gary was the best! He was punctual, kind, witty, and full of knowledge of the area and the wineries. The wineries we visited were so unique and we appreciated what felt like VIP service for our group. We thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the people with us in the tour, too. We can’t wait to return to the area and we’ll definitely do another Platypus Tour.

Chris was a super driver/guide with a big wine knowledge and took care of us the whole day, we really appreciated that! Also our group was fantastic and not too big.

Awesome experience
We had a great time on our tour! We were unsure where to start with all of the fantastic wineries Sonoma has to offer, so this turned out to be an excellent choice! Louis was so friendly and knowledgeable. It was great that the tour allows the guides to pick the wineries, because you know that aren't going to be taken somewhere they wouldn't want to go. Each winery gave us a unique experience with different varieties. Louis had a ton of great information and went the extra mile to make sure everyone was enjoying themselves!

Wonderful tour
Wonderful tour. We went to 3 amazing wineries that we probably would’ve never seen on our trip if it weren’t for our lovely guide that day. We had such a good time, we ended up with bottles from all 3 wineries and with a wine membership! We loved the wineries he chose and we can’t wait to book another trip with Platypus Tours!

The Small group Wine tour was exceptional
Our driver was amazing as was the small vineyards that we visited. They went far and beyond to give us not just wine tasting but amazing information and guidance in what goes into wine making.
I've been on other wine tours and this one by far was the best.
