Added me to their mailing list without consent. Seemed unable to explain how this happened and told me "just wanted to assure you that we only use your email for our own marketing and for no other companies." even though I had not given them consent to market to me and this was not why I contacted them. Seems a very basic lack of understanding about privacy and data handling.

Abandoned cart emails may be permitted under GDPR (although 3 in as many days plus a welcome email which seems to have been sent as part of their regular mailing list may come across as a little excessive ) but being added to any other mailing list would not be compliant.

Edit: I never placed an order so never submitted a form with a pre-ticked box for mailing list consent (pre-ticked boxes are not considered consent for mailing lists by the ICO anyway...) I received the 10% off email so this only confirms that you DID sign me up to your mailing list without my consent. But I never signed up myself or submitted my form as I didn't go ahead with my order and am very glad I didn't now if this is the kind of company you are! I'm not sure how you can so consistently miss the point and continue to act as though adding my email to your mailing list without consent was ok. I should never have had to email to be removed because I should never have been added.

Plants arrived this morning for planting out in my baskets and so much better that the ones available in my local garden centre. I ordered these a month ago and gave today as date for delivery! Very well packed and will be using Plants by Post again for sure...

Efficient company who communicated well . The plant churn looked beautiful and it was delivered on time with no damage. Very good value for money too.

Arrived exactly on time and it's just as described, beautiful.

Courier reported that plant was refused at property. Recipient address correct and no delivery was attempted. No response from Plants By Post to emails or live chat. No communication about failed delivery - still got my money. AVOID

Complete absence of customer service
The plant was a gift and was never received although the tracking shows it was. I appreciate this is an issue with the courier, but I have been unable to get in contact with plants by post to get it sorted out. I have tried their contact form and chat function on the website and email with zero response to any

Olive tree delivered to the wrong village even though the address and postcode was correct. The recipient travelled to deliver it to the correct address. I contacted plants by post who dismissed my complaint advising it had been delivered to the correct address. Woeful customer service.

The plants I ordered arrived in an excellent and healthy condition.
Tha packaging was perfect and completely protected the plants during their journey by post.

Have bought tomato plants previously and they were great. This time I purchased cosmos garden ready plants x 2 at a cost of £19 plus postage. I usually sow my own seeds and bring on over a 100 plants for myself , family and friends. What I received were not garden ready plants but seedlings,about 2" to 3" high. One cell in a container was empty and all the seedlings were leaning at 45 degrees. There were actually 37 seedlings but I ordered 12 garden ready plants so I have had to repot them and keep them in the conservatory. How they will do , only time will tell and time was what I was trying to save by buying garden ready plants.

Took delivery of beautiful quality white impatiens. They arrived when expected, and the packaging is ingenious! Have already placed another order. Highly recommended.

26cm seasonal planted container. Brilliant! Bought four to place outside for house sale photos. Came very quickly and extremely well packaged. All plants in full bloom and in perfect condition. Couldn’t ask for better. Great service, great plants.

Very poor customer service and really poor communication
Below was the response when I quoted the information on their website
“ Yes you’re right but if they don’t work due to bank holidays we can’t can we ”

This is the first time I ordered from these people. My plant was supposed to be delivered on the 28th March. Today, on 3rd April, I get an email to say I can collect the plant from a shop. I bought this plant for a very ill friend who has just come out of hospital and has cancer. Thanks so much for such a rubbish service. I will never ever order from you again.

Another excellent delivery! Love this company... the plants are pretty, unique and reasonably priced. I e bought over 6 plants from this company over the years and they're really lovely. The last one was to my aunt and had really unique red leaves. The staff in the office are really helpful too!

Not worth what was paid.

My husband sent me the pineapple in seagrass basket, something you can buy from ikea for £8!…Some of the leaves don’t look healthy, all dry and crispy. £46.50 is outrageous for what was received.

I paid extra for delivery on a specific day, my daughters' granny's birthday, but the gift failed to be delivered. I had no communication from the shop to apologise or explain and I emailed them them that evening (3 days ago now) and still no response. It did get delivered the next day and she was very happy with them, but I know she would habe been disappointed not to receive them on her birthday, a fulfillment i paid extra for.

Was very disappointed. First time place an order as a house warming present. The lilac bush died within weeks. Incredibly disappoint

Can't fault Plants By Post for service, packaging and keeping me informed re delivery. Plants delivered on date requeste, in excellent condition. I have used the company since 2021.

I recently bought a mind-your-own-business house plant from Plants by Post, it was the first time I'd used them and have been delighted with the service and the quality of the plant. It arrived quite quickly, very carefully packaged with no plant damage, and a very healthy and thriving plant. I like to give praise where it's due and it's due in this case. Can highly recommend and will be using this company again.
