I had technical issues with my session which resulted in not being able to record. However after voicing my concern to customer service they were helpful and issued a refund to me. So very good customer service experience overall

Email with voucher code did not arrive
Email with voucher code did not arrive, although it was sent several times. Dan at pirate persevered and eventually got the code to me via a different email. 5 stars for Dan, 4 stars the automated system.

Excellent Rehearsal Space with Great Customer Support
Excellent rehearsal space with great customer support. We were a microphone down from what the booking stated and needed another, their support service was quick to respond and sorted us a replacement with no hassle. Very impressed.

Gute und günstige Übungsräume
Gute und günstige Möglichkeiten, einen Übungsraum stundenweise zu nutzen. Insbesondere praktisch, wenn man mal an einem akustischen Schlagzeug üben möchte.
Einfacher Buchungsvorgang und Parkplätze vor der Tür. Hilfreich, wenn man eine weitere Anreise hat.

Good music practice and production studios
Pirate studios are great for flexibility of the pricing, times and duration of the session and the variety of choice when it comes to the space you require.
I have been using them for solo and band practice sessions and never experienced any problems.
The equipment though could have a bit more attention in terms of maintenance - I am refering to drum equipment first of all - but the support is very responsive and fast in solving any issues if there are any.
Will definitely recommend them and continue using their service myself.

While some of our customers definitely treat the studios with care, there are others that don't, which results in the type of equipment degradation you are describing. Since we are a self-service studio, it is beneficial to get feedback from our customers when they find any equipment issues, so that we can service them ASAP. We are also glad that you have had pleasant experiences with our customer service team as well. See you in the studio again soon! :)

Kann nur für die 2 und 3 Deck Studio Räume in Hamburg reden.
Erstmal ist das Konzept an sich echt nicht schlecht, wer als Anfänger oder auch andere auf CDJs spielen, üben, performen etc. möchte kann das hier Wirklichkeit werden lassen.
Die Preise sind auch Fair und es gibt wohl öfter mal Rabatt Aktionen und Freundesbonus (man Erhält beim werben von Freunden 20€ so war es bei mir). In meinem Fall durften wir sogar zweimal für 3h komplett Kostenlos auflegen, das war echt super.
Allerdings war nicht alles perfekt und leider muss ich sagen haben die Nachteile schon ein großen Effekt gehabt. Man merkt das die CDJs benutzt sind und wohl auch nicht durchgetauscht werden. Hot Cues, Cue Button haben sehr merkbare Input Delays. Teilweise waren Anschlüsse wie der für die Kopfhörer komplett defekt oder hatten starke Wackelkontakte. Die Steckdosen im im Tisch haben gar nicht funktioniert. Im ersten Raum den wir hatten, hat sich die Klima gar nicht bedienen lassen. Außerdem sind die Toiletten in einem sehr schlechten Zustand.

Bisher nur die DJ Studios genutzt
Bisher nur die DJ Studios genutzt und was soll ich sagen…Außer das ich total begeistert von dem Format dieser Studios bin. Die Preise sind fair und mit dem Equipment gab es bisher auch keine Probleme.
Da es dort natürlich mehrere Studios gibt, trifft man immer ein paar Leute an, die aber ebenfalls so nett wie auch hilfsbereit sind.

In letzter Zeit gibt es viele Probleme
In letzter Zeit gibt es immer mehr Probleme, oft sind Sachen beschädigt (Bsp: Interface-Kabel gerissen) oder funktionieren nicht. Die Herrentoilette ist wortwörtlich zertrümmert vor lauter Vandalismus. Die Anfangszeiten, wo Pirate noch nicht so bekannt war, waren noch echt nice.

Equipment kaputt
Leider haben der Mixer, sowie die Player in Studio 10 (DJ Pro) nicht richtig funktioniert. Schade, sonst hatten wir immer gute Erfahrungen gemacht bei Pirate Studio!

Just Outstanding Customer Service
Being the idiot that I am, I booked an Edinburgh Pirate rehearsal (where I live) instead of a Dublin Pirate rehearsal (where I currently was). Contacted Pirate on Whatsapp, they literally replied in seconds and transferred my booking over to Dublin within 10 minutes.
Best customer service I've ever experienced in my 35 years on this planet.

sad story
first recording studio was super dirty and microphone was broken and physically demolished.
we got a new studio, that appeared clean and fine but when we tried to record, the microphone stopped working after a few seconds, like loose contact.. i’d expect refund on the bank account at least.. this whole night is just disappointing and sad. that’s not supporting any artist, it just kills creativity.

Hallo. Ich finde Euer Studio in Hamburg super - alles ist sehr praktisch und komfortabel, allerdings habe ich ein Anliegen: Es wäre toll, wenn Ihr in den Proberäumen auch Notenständer stehen hättet. Ich bin dabei, Schlagzeug zu lernen und kann leider mein Notenheft immer nur auf einem Stuhl ablegen. Bislang war ich in den Studios 20 und 21 und hier hätte ein Notenständer sehr geholfen. Danke und Grüße!

Brilliant studio in Edinburgh with fantastic looking, comfy rooms and excellent gear. I accidentally booked the wrong day so I reached out to WhatsApp customer service. They responded immediately and gave me the credit needed into my account to rebook. Very impressed.

Ups and downs
Gets a three verging on a two. I've used the facility in Reading multiple times and have had some pleasant and frustrating experiences. The pleasant (and relatively simple to achieve) things - You turn up, the room exists, is fairly clean & you get on with your session.
However on multiple times they have cancelled late citing the popular "electrical or equipment faults". Problems that would have been sorted quickly at regular studios with staff on site. Applying credit to your account instead of offering that and a full refund is cheeky. The default should be a full refund.
They've axed and replaced band rooms with DJ booths at Reading in particular. This is immensely frustrating. When I go to book I see weeks and weeks of band rooms booked solid and weeks of empty DJ rooms. Tempted to book a DJ room and try and squeeze the band into it! Clearly awful decision to scale back the quantity of rehearsal rooms.
And now their prices are creeping up, the fee being their primary advantage over more premium rehearsal studios will lead most to those with other options to beggar the question – Why use Pirate? There are other local studios that are cleaner, better equipment, staff on hand so if you charge the same or there’s a poultry few quid difference, why use you?

We do our best to move customers to other available rooms when a room goes down but when they are not available there is not much more we can do. Often times as well the problems in the room take multiple days to asses and fix and aren't simple repairs. We appreciate your comment about the refund as well. Often times there are rooms available the next day, but we do not assign them to you since they are not for the date and time you have requested.
It is good to receive feedback as well about the dj room changes. We are constantly taking in feedback about the decisions we make in the studios in order to make better ones for our customers moving forward, so we appreciate your honesty.
Finally, while we have increased our prices, I am including a document that explains our Peak/Off peak times. Understanding this can really help with booking at the right time to save money.
