I like how the it downloads quickly and seems to do it faster and easier than Quicken. I would like it much better if it allowed for entering transactions by hand. That would definitely take it to Five Stars!

Powerful personal finance tools with the most flexibility of any app I've used

I’m pretty hard to please when it comes to financial tools because I find most too limited to help. Personal capital is very helpful at keeping track of your net worth. And it breaks things down by catagory as well. Very impressed.

The absolute best platform for tracking net worth.

I'm still new so on occasion I'll forget where specific items are in the navigation or how to make them appear, but on the whole it feels like a really solid product.

As others have commented, it would be great to edit or add transactions and use that feature to really get granular on spending. For example, my net earnings from paychecks do come through as direct deposit, but it would be nice to change this to gross earnings, and then create line items for all the deductions and taxes.

Tracks all cards/accounts I need. Clean UI with lot of intuitive features for portfolio review and management.

The software is great for holding A LOT of information. You can put everything in there. However, it doesn’t let you put % ownership of real estate investment properties (if you own with a partner) and can’t link purchasing activity to Venmo. I also think the interface could be a lot cleaner. It’s takes some getting used to, I’ve had it about a month and I still can’t navigate it as efficiently as I’d like.

This is such a fantastic portfolio solution for the price that they charge. I’ve spoken with other RIAs who charge twice what these guys charge. Solid product. Solid team.

Go to Mint... much better. I've contacted support a few times only to get form letter responses and nothing accomplished. Too bad; it has great potential.

Great personal financial information management platform! IT'S COMPLETELY FREE to use!

Personal Capital has been an invaluable tool in tracking my net worth over time. I feel much more confident in my financial future because of Personal Capital. By linking my accounts I can see my cash, investments, credit cards, and loans all in one place.

Personal Capital's budgeting features help me track where I'm spending money and allows me to see trends over time. I'm also to see my investment allocation and performance over time.

I use the investment check-up feature to let me know where I can make improvements, and I use the emergency fund tool to see if I have enough saved in cash. Finally, I can use the retirement planner to estimate future account balances and see if I'm likely to be able to retire as planned.

Support is easily accessible and always quick to respond.

Like the overall format, cash flow and investment views. Would be really nice to update accounts as frequently as I like!!

Switched from Mint for the investment tracking, but Mint does very well on budgets/account refresh.

I love Personal Capital! It's really helped my family with budgeting and account management. My only gripe is apparently on Capital One where I have to have to continually reauthorize. You've informed me that this is on their side but I can't seem to find where to ping them about it. Hopefully you can make more progress on this with Capital One. Otherwise keep up the great work!!

One feature request: Can you guys enhance the Budgeting feature to allow budgets to be set based on categories that roll up in to the overall budget?

I think this has the potential to be the best personal finance tool out there. It has the right focus on growth and investing rather than just credit scores and card rewards. I love that it's super easy to see your net worth and balances, and I also like that the graphs change when searching for transactions. A few things that could make it really great. I have had some connectivity issues with an account, and while customer service has been responsive, it still isn't working more than a month later. On the app widget, the transactions don't update until you go into the app's main dashboard, when it really should auto-update. There is no way to split transactions right now, which would be really useful. And lastly, I wish there was a place to add searchable notes to transactions apart from descriptions.

As a former Quicken user, I can't see paying $45/year to buy a subscription. I tried Personal Capital and am very pleased with it's interface, performance and pricetag. The only weakness I can see is the inability to track cash purchases or do online updates of manual accounts. Otherwise, I think I'm hooked.

I like that I can view all of my accounts here but the UI isn't the best---the separation of accounts isn't very clear and the graphs aren't the most intuitive. I'd also prefer to see my spending in terms of pie charts and bar graphs (in addition to the line graphs, which are helpful sometimes but not a majority of the time.)

Not the easiest site to link accounts to but a great tool to get everything in one place. It is great for a person that is debt free and trying to figure out what to do with those extra funds. It is a must have site if you have multiple investment and bank accounts to give you a true overview of your financial situation
