I have to praise Pennine for way they installed my windows and door. Kim needs a special mention as she kept us up to date with progress with surveyor and fitters and asking about the standard of work and if we wanted a manager to inspect work which was not needed fitters were friendly ,tidy , and the workmanship was first class very happy customer.

We had 10 windows fitted today by Billy and his team of workers and it was unbelievable how hard they worked and how slick the operation was. They worked perfectly together as a team and we were extremely happy with the result.

Excellent quality product. Very professional, informative and friendly staff from start to finish. Installers (Billy’s team) were faultless. Would definitely recommend pennine.

Unfortunately, our experience with this company was absolutely awful, and I would strongly advise anyone considering using them to think twice.
After cold caller knocking on our door, we initially arranged a home visit for a quote, since we were considering having new windows fitted. We were specifically asked that both my husband and I be present, and were told the appointment would take approximately an hour. The representative arrived with a laptop and a sample window frame, which immediately gave the impression of a very rehearsed, door-to-door sales presentation.

What followed was over two hours of increasingly uncomfortable, high-pressure selling. We have young children at home, and despite making it clear that we had things to get on with, the representative seemed determined not to leave without securing a sale.

The initial quote was an astonishing **£32,000 for six windows and a door**. When we clearly looked shocked, a series of discounts suddenly appeared. First, there was money off for taking our old windows back, then another supposed discount through government funding. We were told an application had to be made immediately to establish our eligibility. Unsurprisingly, we qualified, and apparently it was the very last offer available in our postcode. We were repeatedly told that everything had to be agreed there and then or we would lose the opportunity.

The price eventually came down to £17,000 after all these supposed discounts. We still felt this was far beyond our budget, but by this point we were more concerned with getting the representative out of our house.

When we declined, he repeatedly questioned our decision and wanted to know why. We explained that spending this amount of money was a major decision and that we wanted time to consider it and obtain other quotes. He even started looking up another local company's website and criticising their work in an attempt to put us off using them.
Eventually, he gave us until the following day to make a decision, warning that all the offers would otherwise disappear. We were so desperate for the appointment to end that we simply agreed to call him back, knowing full well that we had no intention of proceeding.

The following day, he called again, still pushing for an answer. He then claimed his manager had authorised an additional discount if he could use a photograph of our house in their advertising. At this point, we had had enough and blocked the number.

The entire experience left us feeling pressured, uncomfortable and completely drained. We genuinely felt that we were not going to get a straightforward opportunity to say no and end the meeting.

What makes the experience even more frustrating is the contrast with the company we eventually chose. A local company came out, looked at our windows, and emailed us a no-obligation quote the following day. No lengthy sales presentation, no pressure, no manufactured urgency and no need for both of us to sit through a sales pitch. We had our windows fitted for one fifth of the price we had been quoted by this company.

I appreciate that businesses have different pricing structures and sales approaches, but there is absolutely no excuse for making potential customers feel trapped in their own homes or pressured into making an immediate decision about spending thousands of pounds.

We’re extremely pleased with our new windows. From the initial sales advice on the different styles and options through to installation, the service was excellent. Maintaining the look and style of our home, along with security, was very important to us, and they delivered exactly what we wanted. The team were friendly, professional and always happy to answer any questions. The installation was completed to a very high standard, and we couldn’t be happier with the finished result. Thank you!

Had a quote from Pennines to get our windows done, the price was to high so we said no…. Now we are getting phones calls every week offering us cheaper prices than the previous quote… we still said no but now they said we will send our manager out to give you a better price….. I said no again so they slammed the phone down… Pennines a no means no stop harrassing people
We have now gone as far as blocking your number as it’s not right with the constant ringing and not taking no for an answer

The staff are friendly and helpful in the most part, but do struggle at times to return calls and keep you up to date.
The fitting staff are great, helpful and couldn't do enough to help. The lads are great.
The service is good.

Been over a week now and no updates from pennine about why we were aggressively pursued by their sales team to then never hear back despite them promising a quote within our budget. Poor performance Pennine!

Installation was excellent - the two men who did it were conscientious, tidied up after and the job looks excellent. I was kept well informed throughout the process from Amy G on the phone and they were understanding when they couldn’t catch me on the phone at the time.
I would warn other buyers of the sales tactics being very high pressure and can easily be sold windows for much higher than should be, and my only complaint since installation is that I was told the new windows would block out much more noise when they are installed
by the salesman who talked through them, even with the vents they need to have on them, but this seems to be definitely untrue as it seems to have not changed noise level.

Overall a good job and high quality, but some pressurised situations with salesmen and perhaps some upselling which isn’t always true. I value honesty in communication.

From the initial appointment with the salesman to installation including the surveyor and project manager was great, all gave excellent customer service. David and Ryan arrived on time and got straight to work, they have done an excellent job and when complete clearly explained everything to us. I would definitely recommend Pennine for the quality of the product and the quality of the customer service. Thank you all for making our project stress free. I will be contacting you in the new year for quotes for our next project to replace the conservatory roof.

Great staff managed to make an extremely difficult job look easy although we know it was not . Very old house with not a window plumb .
Turned up on time and never stopped , work outstanding . Project manager just as efficient , every aspect was relayed immediately and kept in touch and involved at all times . Many thanks

Penine Homes – Apparently, it’s still 1885

Penine Homes knocked at my door offering a free kitchen quote, not a Victorian marriage consultation, but apparently I accidentally stepped into a time machine.

The representative arrived and, despite this being my house, with only my name on the mortgage, seemed unwilling to discuss things with me without my “hubby/partner” present. Sorry, I must have missed the memo explaining that women are still required to have a man present before being trusted to make decisions about their own homes.

For the record, I have a fully developed frontal lobe, functioning brain cells, and the ability to form informed opinions without a male chaperone. I’m also perfectly capable of being alone in a room with a man without the entire situation requiring adult supervision.

After explaining how patronising and frankly insulting I found this, I received calls attempting to rearrange the appointment for when my partner wasn’t at work. So, rather than accepting that I was perfectly capable of handling my own kitchen quote, the solution seemed to be finding a time when a man could attend to make things more comfortable for everyone. Everyone, presumably, except me.

I’ve since received further calls offering me deals. I politely asked to be removed from their telephone list, only to be met with a man who appeared to take personal offence that his forceful sales pitch wasn’t going to plan. He responded with a huffy “fine” and promptly hung up.

Charming. Nothing says excellent customer service quite like getting stroppy with a potential customer because she doesn’t want to be repeatedly sold something.

My review? The kitchen might be in need of an upgrade, but the attitude towards women certainly needs one more urgently.

I wanted a quote for kitchen cupboards, not permission to make decisions from the Council of Men.

Thankfully, I’m perfectly capable of choosing another company — without needing my partner to hold my hand, nod approvingly, or confirm that I’m allowed to spend money on my own home.

Penine Homes: free quotes, apparently complimentary sexism, and customer service that hangs up when it doesn’t get its own way.

I was genuinely shocked by my experience.

During an appointment I was asked whether my husband was at home and whether he "trusted" me to make a financial decision. I was then asked if he would "let" me proceed without consulting him.

In 2026, suggesting that a woman needs a man's permission to make a financial decision is completely unacceptable. Not only were the comments inappropriate and patronising, but they were also entirely irrelevant to the purpose of the appointment.

Needless to say, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Excellent service from start to finish. From initial talks regarding the option of new windows and frames to the EXCELLENT service of Pennine keeping in touch and the fitting of the windows. Very friendly on the phone they were and the fitter was great, very polite and excellent work done. We are extremely satisfied with the end result and service. 10/10 all round. We would highly recommend Pennine.
