My Terrible Experience with Paymont
My Terrible Experience with Paymont – €40,000 Inaccessible and Nearly Two Months of Uncertainty
My business experience with Paymont has been absolutely awful. The financial losses, disruption to our operations, and stress caused by this situation have been enormous.
On 25 August, I was asked to provide supporting documentation for a routine payment. I promptly provided all the documents available to me to our account manager, who assured me that he was forwarding everything to the compliance team and that everything should be fine.
Trusting these assurances, I continued issuing invoices with my Paymont bank details, having no reason to believe that my business relationship with Paymont was about to turn into a nightmare.
I subsequently discovered that my account had been restricted, leaving me unable to access my funds while waiting for an internal review. Nobody provided me with a clear timeframe, a meaningful update, or a reliable explanation of when the situation would be resolved.
The consequences have been devastating. Approximately €120,000 in incoming payments were left pending, while another €40,000 had already been credited to my account. I was never clearly informed that the credited funds would also become inaccessible.
For almost two months, I have been chasing Paymont for progress and trying to get someone to take responsibility for resolving this situation. After considerable effort, I managed to have the approximately €120,000 in pending payments refunded to my clients, so they would not be left waiting or lose trust in my business.
However, the €40,000 already credited to my account remains inaccessible to me.
Even more concerning, the compliance team has not responded to my communications since 10 September. Being left without access to such a substantial amount of money, without clear explanations or meaningful communication, is completely unacceptable for a business payment provider.
The financial damage has gone far beyond the inaccessible funds. The disruption to my business, the time spent chasing responses, the impact on client relationships, and the lost opportunities have all come at a significant cost. I genuinely do not know how long it will take my business to recover from this experience.
At this point, the complete lack of transparency and communication has seriously undermined my trust in Paymont. I cannot understand how a business can be expected to operate when its payment provider can restrict its account, leave substantial funds inaccessible, and then fail to provide meaningful updates for weeks.
I also noticed that Paymont did not appear to have a Trustpilot profile when I looked for independent customer reviews. In hindsight, I wish I had investigated its public reputation more thoroughly before trusting it with my business operations.
**My advice to other businesses is to exercise extreme caution before relying on Paymont for essential payments.** Consider the potential consequences of losing access to your working capital, and make sure you understand the provider's review procedures and escalation process before entrusting it with substantial funds.
I am writing this review because I do not want another business owner to find themselves in the same situation. No business should have to endure this level of uncertainty, financial pressure, and lack of communication.
I sincerely hope Paymont resolves this matter and returns access to my remaining funds. Until that happens, my experience has been deeply disappointing, costly, and damaging to my trust in the company.
