My boss has a Pro account with OR and I recently renewed his account. He started receiving emails saying that it was about to expire even though we renewed it less than 6 months prior. I reached out and asked for help/clarification. I received a response in TWO HOURS from 'Mikey J' stating that my email was not connected with an account and they can't talk to me about the status of other peoples accounts. I resent the email through my boss' email address the next day on January 13th. THREE DAYS LATER I followed up since there had been no response. TWO WEEKS LATER (Jan. 27th) I reached out again. It is now Feb. 10th (almost a month at this point) and we just received an automated email stating that the account is expired and there are no responses in sight. Calling the customer service number sends you to a recorded message that tells you they're not taking calls but you can, of course, EMAIL THEM and they'll respond (really??). They literally have one job and they're not doing it. Beyond frustrating.

Have many OR products and love them all. They stand behind them supporting them when there are issues.

Went into the Des Moines store today with a store credit. This was the 3rd time I had driven there from W. Seattle. Presented them with the credit receipt after they couldn't find me in their computer. Instead of just ringing up the sale and giving me the merchandise I intended to buy they made me wait 30 minutes while they tried to figure out how their new computer system worked. Instead of putting my items to the side while they tried to figure it out they let customers "man handle" my items and then kicked me out of the store when I complained about it. I'm not surprised they didn't call the police on me when I wouldn't leave while I tried to contact the person who had originally bought me the gift. It wasn't until I had reached the gift giver by phone, a regular customer of theirs did they offer to give me the items. Never again will I set foot in one of their stores and I don't recommend this place to anyone. REI, Patagonia, Filson and Arc'teryx all have better customer service then this place. If Seattle wasn't so pro defund the police they probably would have called them.

My jacket is a go to daily piece. Very versatile clothing.

Never received a jacket I ordered. Apparently it was stolen but they refuse to do anything to help me. Customer service basically say to screw myself. Worst consumer service ever.

I purchased a jacket in Denmark 8 years ago. I haven`t used it much, and it has now failed. It came with the Infinite guarantee (as they like to call it) I had proof of purchase. OR now claims that the guarantee isn´t valid in the EU.
The hanging tag on the product was in English, japanese, French.....and GERMAN!! German is spoken only in Germany, Austria and Suisse!
So of course it is valid in EU.
A company of empty promises to fool people into purchase. Some might call these methods fraud..I certainly will !

Stay away from them - dishonest people ain´t worth your hard earned cash.

I bought gloves in November for a job I was starting in January. I wore the gloves to and from my truck to the training building at my plant approximately 8 times. This morning, I noticed the seam coming apart on the right hand glove. Looking at the company's infinite warranty, and it does not cover the gloves. Terrible craftsmanship. I'm out nearly $50.

As others have mentioned, their customer service is terrible and full of false promises. Don’t waste your hard-earned money. I’ve been trying to resolve an issue with an item that was supposed to be delivered before Christmas as a gift, but it never arrived. Even now, all they do is ask for more time, apologize, and then go silent for days without following up.

Please bring back the Voodoo pant. Those were the best pant for desert and jungle environment when you don’t need fire retardant material.

Terrible company to deal with. Had a jacket with manufacturer's fault and they refused to stand by it. Honestly if. it was my fault tear because I got caut in a branch or between rocks I would have accepted it but this was totally their fault and they washed their hands. I wonder why REI still sells this brand

We bought a lot of Outdoor Research clothing in NZ about 20 years ago. Shorts and trousers were still being worn until the unstitched sealed seams started coming apart. We look after our clothes so don't expect them to fall apart like this, even after 20 years. This site only allows reviews that are within one year of purchase!

Why does outdoor research use useless snaps on pants designed for total movement activities. One quick turn or when climbing these disconnect. A simple button hole system would work much better.

I made a mistake on a shipping label and the order got shipped right back and processed for a refund. I wasn’t given the chance to have that shipped back to the correct address. Instead, I had to place a new order only to find out I will now only receive half the package. I should not have been able to make an order if the item was out of stock. I wouldn’t have made the order had I known. Not doing business with them again.

It's really unfortunate because the rain jacket I bought, I really like, but they didn't have it my size so I tried a smaller size. It didn't fit so I called to ask about restocking, exchanging, etc.
The "customer service" agent answered the phone with only a "hello", always making me wonder if I've called the right place and never giving my confidence in the help I'm about to get.
When I asked if the jacket was going to be restocked he said, "yes in the fall, or maybe in the summer, or in a month like end of April" I said which one.. he said it's in our spring catalog so end of April. And he kept just telling me to look at the return policy. At the end of the call I asked for his name and he literally hung up on me.
This company better hope it's products are incredible because if they start relying on their customer service, good luck.
EDIT: I've worn my jacket a few times now and really like it, so I'm increasing my original review by a star. Jacket is light, sleek, and keeps me dry.

I had a warranty claim for a pair of gloves. I reached out to customer service and I received OUTSTANDING service! I do not recall the name of the gentleman who first helped me, and he was super helpful and on point.

He sent my claim to the warranty department and I was quickly contacted by Olivia. She was super responsive and helpful and went above and beyond to exceed my expectations.

OR sent me a replacement pair of gloves and a special thank you gift immediately.

My experience is the exact opposite of what other people have written here. I will absolutely purchase OR products in the future!

no customer service, tried to adjust mailing address for shipment and did not receive a response for days then
said could not be changed even though federal express indicated item was not yet shipped. Follow up emails
never answered.

We bought 3 pairs of Outdoor Research Aksel Work Gloves for Christmas presents for the boys in our house, including myself. Started wearing them on Christmas. Used sparingly, and mostly for snow blowing and driving in the car-- which is pretty light duty. On a drive home the other day, I see a big rip in the leather on the middle finger of my right hand. And, no, I am not in the habit of using my middle finger much. And, I am left handed, so most of the heavy use for gloves and stuff is on my left hand. And, this is a tear in the leather, not a stitching problem. I cannot for the life of me figure out when this happened, or why. Safe to say I am not very happy about it.

Service/Delivery Comments --It took a while to get these gloves, but that was OK. We planned ahead and have other gloves to use. Then I tore the finger in 3 weeks of use. Thankfully (sarcasm), Outdoor Research has a "useful life" warranty for this product. All I had to do to be considered for the warranty was to provide: Date of purchase, proof of purchase, photo representing damage to the glove, photo showing the branding on the glove, and all of the information contained on the tags inside the gloves. After providing all of this info to Outdoor Research, they kindly informed me they are working through the pile of warranty claims and should be back to me within 3 to 4 weeks (Yes, this is in writing). Then, they will decide on the legitimacy of my claim, and then I will need to send the old gloves back if my claim is approved. It is not clear if I am paying for the return shipping or if Outdoor Research is. I have had surgery before and it involved less documentation than this.

Customer service is non existent. I bought a pair of medium size mens gloves for $50. They were unbelievably small. Comedically small.. my wife couldn't even get them on her hands and she is tiny. So I return them and pay for the shipping. OR issues a refund of $33.. Seriously, stay away from this company. Absolute crooks.

Was doing some Black Friday/Cyber Monday shopping, and I came across their site where they had some merino wool base layers for 60% off, so I grabbed a couple pairs for myself and my girlfriend, and some other stuff. I checked out and got a confirmation email, on Friday, I went to go pay my credit card bill and saw that the purchase went through, I wait a couple more days and noticed that I still haven’t gotten an email with shipment confirmation, only to find out the order was actually cancelled the very next day after I had placed the order, no email or phone call to let me know. Like if I knew I could have reordered those items when they still had the sale, but now it’s too late.

I like the products. The wokeness is putrid. The models do not represent America in proportion. Fortunately there are other outdoor companies to fill the needs.
